So in light of this info we've decided to first of all ban dark holds.
The ATO proc for VEATS is also banned.
And lastly, we've decided only one earth control per team.
If stalagmites is still op'd, then we figure limiting the amount of earth controls will keep things from getting out of hand.

Thx Syntry for all the info, we appreciate your insight with everything. We're dedicated to making this as fair and fun as possible. By this weekend we should have another thread going for teams to list and register on. So far its looking to be a decent turnout of teams and a great season. Also, we'll have a better idea of what some of the rewards will be by this weekend, and we'll have that update as well!!!

    @PiP3R
Unless I've misunderstood, I think it could be better to limit the number of stalagmites per team instead of earth control as a whole because some people may want to run multiple earth/fires. Just a thought.

I'm not sure if you are aware but there is an option under key binds to target the nearest enemy; I only started using it for a little while before I stopped playing CoH but used it throughout the entire time I played GW, which is since the release as it comes as a default bind.

I'm sure that would be a better way to re-target a psy blaster after being placated.
  3. I used my PB to pvp because I found it was the most fun class to play but I used a tri-form build, though in all honesty I hardly ever used the Squid due to lack of perception but the squid form is very handy when zones get busy because you can just pick people off from long range. I will include the build I used for my PB when I did play; though when building a PB you really are better off building it to your own personal preference, you will soon find out what you like and dislike about a PB in pvp.

I took cardiac at first for my PB but then switched to Intuition Radial. I also took Pyronic judgement, Polar Lights and Barrier for my incarnates.

    Goodluck.
  4. I would also say Elec or EM seeing as I have both but tbh if you have access to street justice then go street justice, with the hide proc in AS, crushing uppercut is a deadly follow up being so fast and having a longer range than other melee attacks. You can two shot most squishies - Plus AS builds 2 combo levels in Street giving uppercut a higher dmg bonus (I think, it's been a while since I played mine).

    Goodluck.

    My Fire/EM build

Yes PFF has no phase timer if that was your concern but it does take a couple seconds to activate which in that time you can't pop greens, so make sure to PFF early.

Anyone half decent won't get KB'd by powerthrust even with it slotted for full KB that's why I usually just stick a hecatomb set in there unless I'm taking KO blow from the epics like I have on my psy/em.

Powerboost doesn't increase KB anymore and I don't think it would boost the heal on hoarfrost but Incandescence (Destiny power) will, making it an almost full health heal with just one incand. The heal becomes something like 1400+. Also powerboost boosts your +tohit which is the only reason I have it on my blaster, with the amount of -tohit debuffs around at the moment, it can be handy to have.

As for your alpha, do you really need a lot of recharge on a fire blaster? I don't think so, your attack chain already has super fast recharges, I would take advantage of musc for pure +dmg or intuition for +dmg and +range. The game has pretty much come down to damage.

Also if you're building your blaster up to have some fun and you're not to serious then I would recommend one of the villain patrons; Mu mastery is insanely good, elec shackles, elec fences, a res shield and a pet. KO blow from leviathan is amazing if you're fast with melee, you said you like using TF well KO blow hits harder than TF + you get a -fly power with spirit shark jaws.

I just found that the old favourites, cold and force are just boring at this stage in the game, and with incandescence making greens pop for 500 or something similar, phase shift is really all you need to survive. I always found PFF to be slow and well not useful at most times.

...but it's up to you, whatever your epics fire blast is still gonna be great. Good luck

  6. Claws is one the best primaries for a stalker, since really all you should be doing is using AS and sharks/blaze mastery. Claws offers you a Build up that recharges in 72 seconds instead of 90 like all the others.

I don't have a claws/nin build to give you and I would also advise you take energy aura instead of ninjitsu unless you already have the toon at 50 and with accolades.

Overslot your travel powers for capped speeds in zone and double/tripple proc AS and sharks. Also take burnout for double T9.

    Goodluck.

  7. Mortilance

    My Fire/EM build

I would advise against concealment pool AND cold mastery just because you have no +res shield. Personally I would pick up fighting pool and take tough to make up for the lack of resistance.

If you have all +HP accolades you only need 1606 hp to cap so don't waste slots in hibernate to get +hp if already capped. This also means you can 5 slot stamina for the dmg bonus instead of a hp bonus that does nothing.

Imo put the +perception proc in somewhere, it really helps in zone pvp.

You can also 5 slot powerthrust with hecatombs unless you're sticking with TF like in your original build.

I would also only slot for 41 points of KB protection seeing as no one uses force bolt and no one does team arena anymore. Or slot for 46 like you said you wanted .

To answer your question, lotg 7.5 are different to 7.5 bonuses from IO sets, such as glad jav so you're cool to slot 5 lotg and 5 7.5 from sets.

    Goodluck.

  8. Before I stopped playing, I put together a storm team for RV and this forced any MM's to leave the zone, as well as everyone else. It isn't fun for people when they jump into 8 storms and get sapped instantly and die instantly. So much fun to incand into an MM team and watch them explode

    WP Stalker Help

This is my elec/wp stalker build. It has capped hp and pretty good dmg, rech and acc. It has no percept IO which you said you wanted because I couldn't spare a slot without losing things I wanted, but tbh I didn't want the percept IO anyway, I have no interest in seeing stalkers at 10ft, with tactics and HS I can see all I need to. You can easily change the epics to whichever you want.

Yes I know it isn't street justice either but you said you wanted help with the WP part so I didn't bother changing it to street :P - Hope this helps.

    Which Melee

I always did fine on my fire melee/regen scrap until KM was released and was just better but since that's no longer an option I still think Fire or MA is a nice choice for casual zone though for fight club I would say SS brute/tank or claws/kat scrapper.

As for epics; with the fire epics for a scrapper you can do quite a bit of ranged dmg, char and fire blast hit hard and char opens a nice opportunity to hit with your biggest attack easily. Also like Jas said, web nades and taunt are ridiculously annoying, even in zone. You could still dish out 'damage' and web and taunt people. Fossilise on tanks is still great also.

As for secondary, energy aura is pretty damn amazing.

    Goodluck with your toon .
  11. I could be wrong but I think they work the same way the ATO procs do and fire every time based on if the proc per minute rate is equal or greater to the base recharge of the power it's slotted in.

I had some spare points as I haven't played in a few months and bought the Hecatomb one and it seems to fire all the time in AS. I assume all this will change once the proc changes are implemented, if they haven't been already. I'm not up to date with updates.

Xanatos already beat me to it but Sentry is one of the only people I see posting who actually know what they're talking about and he deserves recognition for this; I would rather read the numbers and theories he posts than any crap the devs post, at least Sentry backs his stuff up with numbers. I would have never picked up on this change to procs if it wasn't for the pvp section of the forums.

It seems 'complaining' is the only thing the pvp community can do to get heard and the devs still disregard anything we say, I mean look at i13...

It still amazes me how the devs seem to find ways to change things that affect pvp for the worse instead of changing what really needs it.

    Elec/WP Stalker

For someone who doesn't pvp that is quite a good build; there are just a few things that need changing (imo) to make it better.

First of all, you should definately drop burnout and SOW for leaping pool. Combat jumping isn't really needed, I still have it on mine but I hardly use it, just when i'm grounded and running away. Super jumping away will make a huge difference in how fast you can escape, you can jump on building ledges etc.

I had lightning rod initially but got rid of it after the fun wore off and after getting some kills with it, I picked up shark jaws instead which is a much better replacement and gets me a lot of the finishing blows nowadays.

I don't think the def from manuevers will really help you, I would consider shifting those IO's to SJ or invis and dropping manuevers all together and getting something else; perhaps fast healing just to slot a miracle proc in there.

As for incarnates, take musculature alpha (More damage ); radial or core, I took radial for the extra buff on run speed cause I was an IO short on SS in my build and I like having capped run speed in zone . For interface I think anything with moderate 75% damage will do, I use reactive. Pyronic judgement because it's fast, great after AS if you think they will be fast to heal after you AS (shark jaws works perfect after judgement here to), I don't have lore 'cause I'm lazy, I would say take whichever you like the most and destiny I took barrier seeing as the def on WP isn't good.

I will post the build I'm using currently which has capped HP also, greater dmg bonus (Which you said you wanted more of), more acc and more rech, but it is more expensive than your build. I only put this much into a stalker because it's my main character.

Good luck and I hope this helped.

  15. For a stalker in zone you really want to try and get your movement speeds as close to capped as possible and your travel powers are underslotted; you need to be able to chase people down and retreat fast to get back into hide. I would try and get at least an extra slot on both SS and SJ, ideally an extra 2 slots on both. I assume you're going to get health accolades on this stalker as they're selected when I turn accolades on so if that's the case Overload does not need slotting for Hit points, it will cap your hp with just accolades.

Personally I would put the 33% chance procs (Hecatomb and Glad strike) in Assassins Strike, as well as the hide proc but you did say this was for dueling to and by that I think you mean melee duels so the procs how they are might work better cause there is a few powers that will interupt AS that melee players use such as Waterspout... but for pure zone you should definately put the heca proc and hide proc in AS. After landing an AS you can open with a crit straight after, meaning you can two shot most squishies.

I would consider leviathan mastery as your epic over soul, sharks is great damage from hide for zone and you'll get waterspout as a debuff for melee duels and hibernate which would be nice seeing as you dont have phase shift. Shadowmeld is nice but without overload up EA just isn't that great and I think you will lack ranged damage without sharks or blaze mastery for zone pvp.

Other than that I think your build looks fine. Goodluck with whatever you choose

    Morti.
  16. Ice armour is garbage from my experience, you will die quite easily without Barrier; I would just stick to WP, EA or Nin.

    Morti.
  17. Well first off, no one knows what toons you already have or what type of toon you like to play so the suggestions made could be just as useless as the usual replies you get to this type of thread; that being said I would recommend a rad defender if you like playing in zone.

Any debuff similar to those of radiation are incredibly annoying because of perma travel suppression.

A trick arrow can be really annoying and good fun, as well as storms which you do not see at all anymore.

I find my Peacebringer one of the most fun toons I have to play, the squid form has great dmg and great range and PB's in general are very hard to kill when played right. You won't do the most damage though

    Hope this helped.

  18. Well for starters, if you want to pvp on a stalker first you have to have make sure you have hide + stealth + stealth IO. Without all 3 you risk being seen by anyone with perception and you will constantly be attacked and laughed at.

Your assassins strike needs dmg procs, consider using the hecatomb proc and glad strike proc in that with the hide proc. Perhaps slot the whole power with something like 3 acc/dam HO's and then the 3 procs I stated above. I use 4 hecatombs (dam/end, tripple, rech/acc and proc) in mine + glad strike proc + hide proc then use musc alpha to bump up the dmg in the power. I do this because I like recharge and end reduction in my AS but it's up to you.

I think you have taken way to many MA powers, you will really only need AS, BU, placate, Eagles Claw and possibly Crane Kick or Crippling Axe Kick, unless you plan to stand toe-to-toe with melee players the rest of the attacks you won't even use.

The key to a good stalker is movement, so take superspeed and superjump and slot them up. You should be attacking and retreating, depending on the situation you can stay and fight but mostly, AS, follow up and then get back in to hide to repeat. Without Superspeed, if you get web grenaded with no phase which you currently do not have then you will die. Your pool options should be something like: SS, SJ, Concealment and either fighting or leadership, you already have perception so tactics isn't needed but it is nice; as is assault. If you don't take tactics, put the kismet proc in Hide, as that way it's always on.

SR has no self heal so you defense if your only survivability, if I were you I would take Elude and use it with burnout. That's 6 minutes of Elude.. and because of the lack of self heal I think you would be better off taking Leviathan mastery as your epics, this way you can pick up Hibernate and also Spirit Sharks which you definitely want on a stalker.

Spirit sharks is an OP ranged attack that crits from hide, giving you good ranged dmg as well as good melee dmg from AS.

    Hope this helped.

  19. Hi,

This has probably been covered before but is there any way to save your power trays so that after a respec they don't shift around? It's a pain to keep fixing them...

  20. Mortilance

    New Blaster Prim

Fire would certainly be my next choice after Psy for zone but dark is very good with incandescence for zone and arena pvp, with Life Drain healing for 400+, be more with powerboost if you go /em. Not to mention the dmg dark blast can do when procced.

Sonic is to slow imo and rad just sucks, I think you should choose between fire or dark.

I put mine in AS and after every AS it puts you straight back into hide after striking a target so you can crit after an AS without having to placate. It's great on something with a fast follow up attack like Crushing Uppercut or Char ;D
  22. You don't really have to build EA with defence bonuses from sets like you would a ninjitsu because Overload is so good. You can just slot all your defence powers like you would normally and any extra def bonuses you get are a plus but you certainly don't have to build for extra on an EA. Outside of Overload EA does suck though.

As for WP or ninj, I would go WP with the upcoming increased HP cap to stalkers. You can get the new capped HP on a WP stalker quite easily with accolades. A stalker with 2k+ Hp shouldn't die :P

Goodluck with whatever you chose anyway.

Can you elaborate on this? I've never PvP'd with a stalker but am thinking about slotting up one next.
Whenever you're running away or being attacked by multiple foes, just switch from stealth to invisibility to get you out of their perception range much quicker. Any stalker without it is really missing out; I often see stalkers with grant invis instead just to get access to phase and don't realise just how good invis is!

If you're going to 3 proc AS then make it both 33% dmg procs and the ATO hide proc. In AS that hide proc puts you straight back into hide after an AS which means you won't need to placate after to land a second crit.

  24. If you want to transfer your character to villains side then you need to kill foes above level 20 to get tip missions, once you do 10 tip missions you need to get another tip to become a rogue/vigilante then repeat the process by going to a villains zone via pocket D or Rikti Warzone. It will take a few days as you can only do 5 tip missions per day.

Rv stands for Recluse's Victory, it's a level 50 pvp zone.

And btw, B Witched, your build has 7 Lotg +rech and they cap at 5.

  25. I can't click the link to open it but from what I see I can tell you that you have 0 KB protection which is needed on a ninjitsu stalker unfortunately seeing as they don't get it in their mez protection power.

The level at which you take certain powers is wierd also, I mean this won't matter at level 50 pvp but if you want to pvp in sirens to then you will have no travel powers.

You also have no patron powers, spirit sharks or blaze mastery are very good for ranged damage, consider picking either of those pools. You can easily drop some of the useless powers you have in your build such as Burst or smashing blow. Smoke flash and blinding powder are probably powers you won't use often either. Blinding powder is only worth getting if you're going to 6 slot the Coercive Persuasion set for a big ranged def bonus.

Slot primarily for ranged def and get in some melee def to but make sure to proc your main attacks; AS and sharks, the rest of your attacks won't really do a great deal of damage.

Pick up Musc alpha and goodluck
