Just so you know, the general discussion is an all access forum now.

Isn't it time for the IO sets to be looked at again, maybe cleaned up and improved?
1. Move the "Vendor trash" sets to the vendor.
Really, there are some sets that just aren't used. (When's the last time you heard someone go "Yay, I got an Air Burst drop!" or "Yay, Extreme Measures!" without being sarcastic about it? Just remove them from the drop tables and stick them in the vendor. I'm sure the devs have data to mine to see what's discarded or used the least. (Obviously purples and PVP sets don't go here.)
For sets there's only one piece people really go after commonly, either have just that piece drop, jack up the price at the vendor, or leave the set in.
2. Create some new sets. With variety.
And make them worthwhile. I don't want Manticore to be my only "real" choice as someone who uses snipes, for instance.
3. Eliminate or add to useless bonuses.
.625 reduction in stun duration? Really? Or, yay, .5% debt reduction? Dump that garbage. Give me a little damage or HP boost or something there.
4. Don't just stick to the "main" purpose of a power!
Hey, devs? My immobilizes stack just fine - I rarely need an immobilize duration boost. But I *do* like being able to do more damage. How about 1-2 sets that have damage, not just as a proc, not just as a 5% boost as a set bonus, but actually IN the set?
BONUS SUGGESTION: Making "trash" recipes worthwhile!
Let me go somewhere and turn in 3 recipes of some rarity (again, not purple or PVP) for a chance of a random recipe of the same rarity. -
Had a friend who went Premium for a bit, and now back to VIP (and will probably go back to Premium while he hunts Sith or something.) One thing he said he found really irritating is having to re-unlock every character on his server. (He'd bought extra slots earlier, so it's something like 30 characters there.)
How about a button that, when you go back to VIP, gives an option to "Unlock all characters on this server?"
It's a minor thing, but he found it REALLY annoying. -
They're not that bad. The 5 level room can be a bit irritating, but that's about it.
Besides, not *everything* can be an office or warehouse. -
Yep. Spyware/adware, more than "antivirus," really. Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, etc.
And don't let anything add toolbars - don't just click "next" when something wants to install. See what it's actually asking to install. -
Quote:Do you work for Paragon Studios? I don't see your name in red, so quite obviously - no. You're guessing.Misplaced decimal point? LOL
You can enhance knock back with enhancements, so it seems obvious to me. *Shrugs*
I think I'd rather listen to the people who have actually seen the code. And I'm not going to enhance to fix mutliple broken ATs/powersets. I'm going to wait for them to get back to how they're supposed to be. -
-
Skyrim stole our knockback! Make them give it back!

Quote:And I hope they fix it *very* quickly. My PB is my favorite character, and just feels so "meh" now, to the point where I end up not wanting to log in.Indeed, I hope they fix it as fast as they did the Shadow Cyst bug *chuckles*
Hit a Void with IS, watch him get right back up and in melee range - blah. Or, if you REALLY want to feel like you're not doing anything, take the character back into AP, find some low-low-lowbie clockwork (with lower kb resist than most other mobs,) fire and watch them... not really seem to care they should be sent flying.
This had *better* be fixed quickly. Yes, this *is* ruining my enjoyment of the game. -
Quote:No it isn't. If it were a *choice,* maybe.Good, maybe this will finally get me to play my Peacebringer again. Less KB is good feature.
As it is, this makes me shelve mine until it's fixed. And mine's my favorite character.
I'm working on the assumption that it's a bug and will be fixed shortly. If it STAYS that way, I'm going to be severely disappointed. (And add it to the list.) -
Quote:I refer you to Britain's 1957 "White Paper."As remote operated drones get better, I can see all manned fighters going the way of the dodo.
Though I do expect the future to be a mix - drones for point defense/intelligence/recon as well as being used in conjunction with manned fighters (and other aircraft.) -
Quote:"Dear departed?" I wouldn't go that far, though production ended due to costs and the F-35 JSF (also due to costs....) It just entered service in 2005, total of about 187 if I remember right. The ones in game are too small, and as I remember, single engined - plus the intakes are quite wrong to be an F-22. (Being nit-picky, they're probably "too small" to be an F-35, but they're shaped more correctly for that.)Haven't done a Lambda weapons phase recently, but I thought those were the dear departed F-22 Raptor?
F-35 (not yet in full service, in pre/early production and testing last I recall, and costs are rising.)

That assumes you know that part of the backstory of the characters and game. Which was a kind of annoying part of the second one - that "quiz" that comes up before people of that level would have even gotten to the shadow shard. I had a friend who was playing this longer and had been there (but not in a while) complain they couldn't remember it, so how would someone new know it?
-
Some look like Apaches, stylized. And while we're at it, the fighter jets in some of the warehouses (?!?) - this might just be Praetoria, but I do remember seeing them - look like the F-35.
I'd say it's "realistic base, artistic license applied." -
/agree.
Really, either reuse the first contact (which wouldn't make sense, I know) or give us SOMETHING saying where the other contact is. I shouldn't have to keep hunting through zones or hoping somone on help can answer.
While I'm at it, can we stop jacking up the range for each one? I haven't played long, don't have a lot of TIME to play, and am barely in the range for this one. Why can't they all be, say, 20+? Am I going to need to be 45 in another arc or two, or need Incarnate powers for the last one? -
Quote:Er... what does their being human, half human or alien have to do with it? The Well seeks out will, not humanity. Why should there be Kheld-specific dialog for it when there's not specific dialog for a Mutant, or for my alien scrapper, or for my demoness, or for my robot mastermind (as in, he himself is a robot?)I take your point, I think it just doesn't quite hang right for me. Kheldians run for 50 levels without ever touching the Well, they're two separate paths to power. I think I'd be happier if there was some Kheld specific dialogue options explaining why this alien being needs to seek out the Well but then I think there's needed to be Kheld specific dialogue in lots of parts of the game. It just feels like poor design to me.
Still, as you say, WS and PBs are half human so there is a connection.
And no, I don't think the war walkers are Kheldian powered. It's just effects being recycled. If they were indicated as being powered by kheldians, I think whatsisname who did the lore guide would have updated it like he did for the kheldian warp bit. (I like my khelds and the stories behind them, and RPing them, so I watch for things like that to get updated.)
As far as cysts, my khelds aren't 50 or IOd out and they just don't see these as big deals. If inspirations are a "band aid" then there's a LOT in the game that needs them, since "Stock up and eat inspirations" or "Eat purps and reds" is a pretty common piece of advice on the boards and in game. -
The other stuff aside, it's just not economically feasable.
How many Linux users are there?
How many of them are actually interested in running COH?
Those aside, while the Mac version (which also has issues) has a specific company to go to - which is the cause of some of the issues of the Mac version - who does NC go to for support?
How much are they going to pay to train (and maintain training) their support for Linux?
Not to mention their developers.
Not to mention possibly running afoul of code that was "borrowed" somewhere - or that gets suspected of being "borrowed" somewhere, dragging them into a lawsuit they're not interested in, even if it's baseless, due to code that's not under their control?
Last but not least... if Linux gaming were so lucrative (and the last numbers I saw put desktop linux - not servers, not linux-derived Android phones - at less than 1% usage,) major gaming houses would be developing for it. We'd have a WoW/Linux. SWTOR/Linux. Arkham Asylum for Linux. Instead, we get small-time indie people getting creative, but still porting fairly small time games. Having the game "explode under Linux" would, unfortunately, be roughly someone throwing two of those paper "poppers" on a busy street. There'd be a little notice, then nothing. -
ookay...
I'd call it more "mid level." If someone says "low level noob friendly," I'd look more at the "Level 4 PVP" events that used to be held. "Low level" to me would be pre-SOs (level 20 and under, really.) Say, level 15 ("real" vs exemped, to avoid the exemped people having a power availability advantage) DO only.
But, w/e, not going to argue with definitions. Hope you have fun. -
No offense, but that sounds neither "noob friendly" nor "low level" when you say exemped to 31 and "you can and should bring a 50."
-
Quote:Um - I have a SG mate who's tier 9 and dropped down to premium, and still has their khelds and veats, but didn't pay for access to them. I don't know that he's made any NEW ones, but he can still play his existing ones no problem. At Tier 9, Controllers and MMs are unlocked.
EATs, however, will have to be purchased if you want access to them. Also, unless you purchased GR, you will need to buy access to that system and its powersets thru the market as well.
You will also lose access to base editing as a premium player. -
Radiation's a decent debuff set. But for its early key powers (the two toggle debuffs,) I find I might as well not use them unless we're fighting an AV or I'm solo. By the time I get them put on a boss or an EB, it's dead already.
Can we get these powers sped up so they don't take so long to cast? -
I was playing around with my Fire brute and looking at the powers. I had time, since I was mezzed and not really able to do anything else.
Could we possibly, *please* get Temperature Protection and Plasma Shield switched around for Brutes (and I think Scrappers?) Yes, I know, "It's level 16, it goes quick" but not when you don't play a lot (and have friends on other servers so you're on other characters.) I'm melee. I get aggro. If anyone's going to get mezzed early, it's going to be me, and I'm not guaranteed to have an Empath or Pain dom around. And with my enhancement tray so small at these levels, I don't have enough inspirations to say "well, I can just combine."
Meanwhile, temperature protection - which I don't care about til later - just sits there, open, available and really kind of useless. Sure, the slow protection is nice. Unless you're sitting there at level 10, mezzed instead of slowed. -
Looks like a bit of work, but that looks like it will help. Thank you!
Have the developers ever said anything about being able to do this officially? Like they can with power colors? -
Is there any way to change the sounds of powers?
I started a Sonic blaster, but wow. I sound awful. Like I'm about to violently throw up on someone, then make some weird 50s sci fi noise, then howl at them.
Do we have any sound customization coming up? Or is there any other way of doing this? If not, I'll probably delete the character. There's no way I can sit through 50 levels of that. What's worst is that they're not even consistent! It's like someone was picking sounds at random. Seriously, a wolf howl? Never mind hearing them all come from a female character. It's just bad.
Any help with this? Have they always been like this?
