Dr Scott made me think that I don't recall any retired or active heroes or villains in a wheelchair. Is medicine/cybernetics so good that this doesn't happen any more ?

I have an ice/MM/elec blaster that I really like, currently only SOd, T3 reactive, clarion, ion, cimeroran, T4 spiritual.
Am moving towards IOing, budget highish (purples fine, no PvP IOs), and undecided what I should slot for.
This is mainly intended as a team/league toon, I'm not worried about soloability.
I'd be interested in hearing opinions as to whether I should go after extra defence (and if so which), or recharge and offence.
I like the elec epic as it gives me 3 cones of different damage types, so I can have full separate ST and cone attack chains.
Very experienced player and build designer, but more for melee types than ranged. -
We really need to find a way of doing this. Have just been on a trial where for no obvious reason he just jumped clean over the wall (causing the trial to fail) from the NW corner.
Only suggestion is that he aggrod on somebody exiting the hospital despite other people hitting him at the time. -

I'm not going to quote FP's wall of test, but most of it's laughable.
What's stored in base is IOs, the rest is fluff.
Note that FP quotes the amount of personal storage if you've purchased the max amount of adds, these people have spent nothing on storage, one is currently unemployed and would be subscribed if he wasn't, he's not spending much money on it (although he does contribute to CoH by occasionally buying the odd new powerset). So they can hold 10 IOs per character, and 16 ? stacks in the AH, but most stacks are of size <3 as you don't tend to accumulate 10 level 37 oblit quads etc.
Also it's not a whole lot of fun to actually play a character where your enhancement trays, recipe and AH slots are always completely full, and unsurprisingly as they only get access to say 7 of their 50 characters (they're vet enough to have IOs), these are the ones they play.
And yes you can invite a VIP player to your SG. I did this for mine till I made my second account, but you tend to find they're never actually around when you need them. -
Quote:These are people who have paid for a long time (enough to get IO use) and accumulated a lot of stuff, the limit on SG storage is what forced them to create their own SG base in the first place, otherwise they'd have used a communal one.No big loss. If they wanted they could have easily circumvented rent by just removing the items that incur rent.
Storage Items (per bin) 100 prestige
Auto-Doc / Tree of Wonders 100 prestige
Combat Logs / Contemplation Charts 100 prestige
Robo-Surgery / Spirit Signal 100 prestige
Advanced Worktable / Advanced Forge 100 prestige
Expert Worktable / Expert Forge 100 prestige
Robotic Fabricator / Flames of Hephaestus 100 prestige
Radiation Emulator / Enchanting Crucible 100 prestige
Linear Accelerator / Arcane Crucible 200 prestige
Supercollider / Mystic Crucible 300 prestige
There's nothing on that list that a solo SG "needs" to be functional.
What? They didn't want to pay for extra group storage? Too bad. TANSTAAFL as they say. They don't pay a sub They don't get access to extra group storage unless they have a VIP in their SG. They can go buy the extra personal storage off the Paragon Market.
I say good riddance to deadbeats that expect to get full access to the game for free.
Also, try playing on Victory in the EU day/evening, there's about 1/4 the number of people there was before everybody decided to go play with their lightsabres, we cannot afford to lose these people, I'm finding about half the time there aren't enough people on to do anything I want to do (and that's a pretty long list) and going off and playing another game instead, which is making me question whether my 2 subs are worthwhile. I'm just waiting to see how many people stay playing the new game and how many return atm. -
Unfortunately, I know of 2 players with solo SGs who have recently returned as F2P, they have left again because while they can use their SGs, they can't pay the base rent which is a related completely bone headed design decision.
I have made a second 99 cent account and will keep paying for a couple of months till I get the extra token to get SG access on it. My main account will stay VIP and the second account is purely to invite toons to my SG (which is shared with a friend who rarely shows up now), but you really should be able to invite your own characters while offline.
Mainstream SGs just don't work any more with the storage item restrictions. I'm part of a very large SG, and we can only survive by having personal SGs to stash loot in. I have at least 3 bases full of my own personal stuff, and several other members of the SG have nearly as much. -
I REALLY dislike the way the pink patches of death are implemented in MoM. Why put the large slope leading up to the nightmares if you don't have the tech to allow the patches to ground hug. A patch appears upslope of you with you facing down the slope fighting. a little lag occurs and you're dead without ever seeing the patch which was over your head, worse on short toons.

Quote:Unfortunately if you happen to be a European player on Victory, MoM farm for nightmares is about the only thing that ever forms at times I'm awake. One of my friends has taken to transferring his 50s over to Freedumb to get them incarnated up and then move them back, it really is that bad. I'm quite happy doing BAF/Lambda/Keyes but not happy leading them, so don't really want to try to form my own. I suffer from having 30 or so toons with T3+ alpha, but nothing at more than +1 so MoM is not a barrel of laughs and you get minimal incarnate XP on a nightmare farm anyway. Now allow me to be a jerk about it:
I don't want to carry your mooching ***. I don't expect anyone to carry me, and I don't expect to carry anyone else. BAF, Lambda and Keyes still form frequently. Run those, get yourself a level shift or two, then ask again to join a higher level trial for higher level people. I'm fully behind any leader who insists on level shifts for UG, MoM or TPN, as well as any badge attempts on the easier trials.
Now if someone is excluding you from BAF, Lambda or Keyes on account of a lack of level shifts, then it's probably because a) they think they need the level shifts for the trial to succeed, which means their league sucks and has to rely on brute force to win, or b) they think including only level shifted people will make the trial go faster, which it doesn't, because the pickier you are the longer it takes to form the stupid thing. Either way, they're not someone whose league I'd want to be joining. -
You weren't the teacher I teamed with years ago who said "afk a bit, I have to teach class, one of my students will take over in a few minutes" were you ?

I think the only one not in the game is the poodle perm. -

This sums up my feelings, as somebody who lost my mum to cancer, my best wishes go to all around him.

Thanks for this, just one other question: (for non VIPs)
2 principles, you can't use IOs unless you've got tier 7 complete or buy an IO licence.
You can use anything you've bought.
Does this mean you can use attuned IOs bought with points if you're F2P and haven't bought an IO licence ? -
A couple of questions:
The snowbeast, vanity pet or the functional one ?
Do attuned set IOs and the normal level based ones combine for set bonuses, ie can I put 2 attuned eradications in a power and the other 4 normal ones and get the set bonus for 6 ? -
This sort of rudeness has been leaking into CoH and not just for I-trials.
Last night was on a posi 1, unsurprisingly there were more titanic weapons present than in the average dodgy movie. So 5 brutes, tank, scrapper and blaster went in. A level 42 brute proceeded to die (the only death at that stage) complain about the debt and leave saying "recruit some support instead of me". I sent him a tell explaining that wasn't possible on a TF and it became clear he knew that, but wasn't prepared to play on that badly designed a team.
I have to say my experience of other MMOs is that it's much more common there. It's largely the absence of this sort of thing in CoH that keeps me here. -
Quote:1. Large fish as maceI would like to see the following weapons for comedy relief.
1. Mace - A giant drumstick / Giant Saucepan
2. Titan Weapons - An actual person tied up, the hero/villlain is so strong they are able to lift up the poor schmuck and use him as a weapon
2. Have the guy either held by the feet and rolled in a carpet or held by the neck with his feet in the bucket of concrete for the family version.
3. Would love the chainsaw to make an entrance to the game, can see issues with using it on a stalker though.
4. Comedy snake with suitably goofy face for staff melee.
5. Some proper sports gear from many different sports.
6. Cane as a mace option
7. Swordstick - out of combat cane, in combat sword with suitable draw/sheathe animations. -

Quote:1 hour is not the issue for me. If I close my browser session down and then open a new one 30 seconds later I have to log back in 100% of the time, something I don't have to do on any of the other boards I frequent.I had my weekly call with the web ops team this afternoon.
- The random log out bug has been clearly defined to Seattle as something that needs to be addressed ASAP.
- The issues with the Hero Skin has been clearly defined as something that needs to be addressed ASAP.
- The cookie to flag you to log out due to inactivity is currently set to expire at 1 hour. This is, IMHO, a bit short. Originally, I had requested that the log out due to inactivity be set to 14 days. This caused some rather bad things to happen which resulted in the forums crashing over the weekend. We'll be setting it back to 8 hours soon. To be clear: If you are inactive on the forums for 8 hours you will be logged out.
More as I have it.

Quote:A friend of mine is lactose intolerant, so while "Death by chocolate" would probably not be literal, it would feel like it.So sorry you are allergic to peanuts and peanut butter, well at least it's not chocolate, I am a well known chocoholic and if I ever became allergic to chocolate, I will kill myself by eating tons of chocolate so I would commit chocoside.
He's the only man I know that can eat chocolate cake and cream and lose weight. -
Quote:Australia channel will probably do the job, and is (events wise) pretty much purely Justice.I've been playing on Liberty for the past 3 or so years and I've made a bunch of friends there, but if there really are a large amount of fellow Aussies on Justice, I wouldn't mind rolling a few toons on there
Also, is there some kinda global channel I could join for Aussies/Other Southern Hemisphereians?
Cheers in advance -
