    Nothing new.
  2. When the devs need those things - as in, *during testing,* - they can make the changes they need (see also auto-filled market orders, auto-leveled characters.)

Leave it in their hands to test as they need, not just randomly to whoever as a temp power.
  3. IOPs will probably not make a comeback. The Cathedral trial was changed and has its own rewards now.

Base raids - who knows. They're a mix of two things that get almost zero dev attention - bases and PVP. And both need serious work to make base raids viable again. I'd say "In COH 2, if it comes out," is the most realistic answer.

Show a realistic alternative to them. No, converting shards is not "realistic," and while they may make vague comments about "sometime" story arcs and such, that does nothing now or near-term.

You want the powers, you have to grind the same raids repeatedly.

    Compare to, oh:
    - Vanguard merits. Can get anywhere, after doing a fast set of talk tos. Can even get for defeating non-rikti content thanks to a day job. Solo, team, task force, mothership raid - doesn't matter.

    - Hero merits - Solo to small team missions that can be run quickly, at your own pace.

    - Purples. Droppable from 47+ mobs while doing any variety of content. Limited application.

    - Hami/SHOs - Can be gotten from a raid or task force, *or* traded or purchased on the market (and I've gotten many of them very cheaply. Damage/Range is great on a Kheld, for extending powers like Cosmic Burst and the like. Picked up a new batch at 300-500k.)

For any of these, I have multiple things I can *choose* to do to get the item. Yes, some ways are a little slower than others - but nowhere near the orders of magnitude difference when it comes to shards/threads/etc.

Given hints about upcoming content - the whole "Coming storm" bit that's been getting hinted at since Issue *6* with the Bloody Bay shivans, *before COH was purchased from Cryptic and PS was created,* it doesn't feel like these powers are "optional." That *aside* from finally "being something else for the 50s to do" and "finally being able to improve the 50s- leveling without raising the level cap."

    So, what are the "options?"
    1. Rerun baf/lambda repeatedly, or
    2. if you're not on a character that can run +6X# or higher, get a shard every couple of missions, eventually try to convert to threads, burn a ton of INF to use that for iXP, and a few years from now finally get an Incarnate power slotted.

Doesn't sound like much of an "option," Sharker.

Having to rely on *others* for those buffs isn't an issue. It's part of the point of teaming. Making each other stronger, covering weaknesses and the like.

And yes, the incarnate buffs are powerful, etc, etc, etc. And you can only get them after you've hit 50, run trials and jumped through the required hoops to get them - and they don't exemplar down very far, *and* there's specific content designed around them.

    Full league?

Are you at the dual-AV stage, and if so, are they together or separated? That (IIRC from the morning run) was when it seemed worst to me. (No COH this evening - messing with portal 2.)

Pfft, THAT's been true for a long time. Actually, I think it's more "code" than "server," as the servers have been upgraded many, many times over the years, and the game has *always* bogged down on raids - hami raids used to be a long, contemplative slide show, invasions are often laggy, mothership raids can be like this... so of course they added two more.

They've got to track down whatever bits are doing this and work on them before they add more raids.

Then you're a rarity, given the raid I was in (Pinnacle) and numerous other reports in-game and on the boards... including on Victory.
  9. So, bets on emergency maintenance Wednesday, or will it be Thursday? Maybe a Friday surprise....

Between that and the mystery greying out of temp powers that should be usable, there were some issues introduced, i'd say.
  10. Yep, noticed that this morning. Haven't tried other servers... but the reinforcement timer sure didn't seem affected.

    Nope.

You have to use Incarnate Shards - 30 make an Incarnate Bowl. In that, you put Incarnate Flakes and cover liberally with Incarnate Milk for a good old fashioned farming breakfast.
  12. Absolutely nothing. It gets renamed. And yes, you can mail it all to any character.

    Stolen artwork?

yeah, I've run across a few more non COH pieces, trying to track down the artists and let them know too. Stuck a note on the journal.

    Stolen artwork?

Sent a PM to Avatea, since he's selling copies of official NCSoft posters as well.

    Stolen artwork?

I see one of my characters in the back of this one:

    Clair de Lune.

It was a set that Juggertha was trying to set up to try a new style or some such.

    Original:

Just a quick look for COH stuff, looks like they're putting out NCSoft posters, too.

Sent ebay the whole list just off the "City of Heroes" search.

No, the higher guy is NOT exemped down. The higher person doesn't get any XP until the lower person catches up, but they are NOT exemplared down.

I *just* went into game and verified this. Level 5 corr, level 1 MM. Level 1 sent the level 5 a pact invite, which (of course) was accepted. Result: Level 1 is still level 1, level 5 is still level 5.

Now, if they TEAM, of course, there'll be exemping/sking. But just being in a pact doesn't do jack to the higher level's level.

(And I don't know what happened to Claws.)

Yes, we could actually use 4-6 people in a pact. Though I could see 4 as an upper limit.

The devs did say they'd be looking at expanding these when they came out. Of course, they also said they'd be monitoring and tweaking PVP after I13, choosing more Dev Choice arcs to free up AE slots, etc, etc, etc...

The problem, IMHO, is more one of "You're 50 when you're doing this and likely have several full trays, so you don't see something new pop in." Some other way of letting the player know and use it without having to dig through the (exceedingly long) temp power list, and/or making the powers themselves noticable, would help.
  20. Bug. Happening in Incarnate raids, too.

That should be "any of your damn business," just for consistency with the statement. And there's nothing particularly snarky about the rest of the post. If *any* of the stuff I mentioned actually DID occur ("Server limit = 100 SGs," for instance,) the OP would have some reason to actually suggest making it more difficult.

Since it's just "I don't like seeing so many supergroups!" for whatever reason... *shrug* I don't particularly have any sympathy for "Make something that doesn't hurt anyone more difficult just because!" I'd have the same (probably more... *colorful* reaction) to "Too many villains use red and black in their costumes, we should make it harder for them to" or something similar - something which would have *just* as much impact on the OP as how many SGs there are.
  24. Confirmed. Didn't affect mine (or a few other peoples,) but we did have a complaint or two that Beast/Ninja Run were greyed out - and one of the people experiencing it said it un-greyed a bit later.

Of course, lag seemed worse in general (Pinnacle) in BAF, so... *shrug* - not that it seemed to have any effect on the reinforcement timer.
  25. We just came back from a trial. Had someone complaining (in it) that they couldn't use Ninja Run. I could, so could multiple other people - and then theirs "un-greyed."

Patch day. Time to introduce new and exciting bugs to your City of Heroes experience!
