Make people with Lambda temps glow.

For real, ala Meteor Fragments, etc. This way we know who still has acids or grenades left, because when people are asked for their temps, people don't respond or even seem to know if they have the temps, even when we tell them where the temps can be found. Some players even misguidedly hoard the temps to try and get the trial badges, without knowing how the badges actually work. I haven't been on a single Lambda trial where we've failed to complete the sabotage phase, so I know this isn't happening because we actually have less than ten acids/grenades.

Please implement this suggestion so the league doesn't stand around for five minutes blindly pleading with oblivious people to check their temp trays so we can finish the trial. The shipment drops are supposed to be for leagues that didn't manage to comlete the sabotage phase, not for leagues with people who don't know what's what.

Thank you.

Technically speaking the game isn't really forcing a league to stand around wasting time shuffling (or not shuffling) temp powers around. You don't have to dump all the temps on one person to succeed in a MoLambda attempt. Not sure what making people glow like this is going to solve here. Besides there are so many aura/temp powers being thrown around these days how is a new aura for this even really going to reliably serve its purpose?

There will always be naive/idiot players who choose to not listen to requests made by other players on trials like these. I understand your frustration with these players not playing well with others. I just don't see your suggestion as something that would be helpful enough to be worthwhile. *shrugs*

One part of the problem is that some of these players are not aware that they have the temp powers, or even that temp powers are involved in the trial at all. If they start glowing, they're going to wonder what's going on.

Aye, or at least massive mega epic words pop up when you get one. I agree with this.. the temps unless doing a MO can be the difference between failing- via out of time and success

You mean like "You have received a temp power?"

... which happens now, as I recall? >.>

The problem, IMHO, is more one of "You're 50 when you're doing this and likely have several full trays, so you don't see something new pop in." Some other way of letting the player know and use it without having to dig through the (exceedingly long) temp power list, and/or making the powers themselves noticable, would help.

I think he means something more like:

BEHOLD -- YOU HAVE RECEIVED A TEMP POWER, YOU SHORT-ATTENTION-SPAN-BLIGHTED BUTTON-PUSHING MONKEY. CONSULT THY POWERS LIST FORTHWITH!

The newest temps acquired are always at the bottom of the temp tray. Additonally, you can reduce the length of the temp tray by deleting the temp powers you never plan to use.

I can find the Lambda temps very quickly knowing just the first thing there. I can move it to my powers tray if necessary by clicking through to a section of the tray with even just one empty slot. If I'm not planning on using them myself, I can drag them directly from my temp tray to the player who will.

The issue isn't even with people being unable to use them quickly enough. The issue is that when I or another league leader asks, "Who still has acid?" or "Who still has grenades?", and I get zero replies, and by the number of doors still up or by number of grenades the designated grenade-chucker has I can tell that someone still has some, I can't tell who that is. When I ask people to please check their temp trays, and I still get no replies, what am I or others supposed to do other than spend time I shouldn't be spending trying to get more from shipments?

If someone is glowing, and they aren't replying to any prompting, if they happen to not have league chat up, I can at least send them a tell or something. I can't do that if I can't tell who's holding onto the temps, whether they know it or not.

I have a better idea. If not all 10 doors/portals are closed, whoever that still has acid in their power tray upon completion of the trial will automatically get the 10 threads end reward. If they complain about it, well then you'll know who has been holding out.

I'm just joking of course. No one would run MoLambda if that were the case. But I do agree that something has to be done sooner rather than later because it's far too easy for griefers to screw up Lambda runs.

I would really love to see the trial temps pop up in a NEW tray beside or above the inspiration box. In your face and obvious. Then perhaps we would not need to see glowing aura. If need be it could be made to pulse or flash by the league leader.

To be honest after ????? I have lost track of how many Lambdas I don't think it would help if the set up code that made the player's costume turn HOT PINK and the skin LIME GREEN! Every trial I have been on there always seems to be at least 1-2 players that either are not paying any attention at all or have no idea where to look to find the powers in their temp tray. Personally I hope its not paying attention because I find it hard to believe a player could get a character to 50 level and have NO clue where power trays are ... Then again they got a character to 50 and did ?? HOW MANY TFs? to get to 50 (+1) and they still don't know how to listen and be a good teammate?

Of course my heart goes out to some players for the effort they put out. The leader clearly states team 2 will go after grenades but they wind up on our side looking for acids. It must have been a tremendous challenge for them to level a character to 50 since they can't even recognize the number 2 <---- for future reference guys its the one that looks like this LOL maybe they were sick the day that was covered on Sesame Street??

What it will solve, is that I can kick players who are glowing but completely unresponsive to any sort of advice/directions/commands in any form of chat for whatever reason. I can also add them to my blacklist and make sure they don't get on my trial runs again.

I give a lot of leaway to new and inexperienced players, in all parts of the game. I actually enjoy playing with new people quite a lot. But if you're failing to respond to basic instructions even after having everything explained in league chat before we start, and then at least once more in league, broadcast and team chat each, while in the trial, I can only conclude that you're doing it on purpose. Playing without any chat windows open, while on a group oriented effort like the trials, is the same as 'doing it on purpose' imo.

Me too! Definitely sign me up.

Make them glow like hot pink. And then make it explode in their face. And for every minute they don't use it, they will lose a full level worth of experience and can do go down to level 1. Maybe, just MAYBE it will start getting those people to actually use their temps...maybe, not so sure.

I'd prefer they just have the temps pop up in a "+" tray I've got three trays full of powers and a 4th that I use for random stuff (6 or 7 during halloween so i can change between costumes) It would be nice if those temp powers would pop into that "+" tray rather than being relegated to the power list which is exceptionally full.

I didn't see this thread before I started another, so for completeness' sake I'll add my suggestion to this thread: rather than an aura, I'd rather have the temp power give an invisible and meaningless buff. That way it'd show up in the buff bar, making it easy for teammates or leaguemates to see that you've got it.

Pardon me for saying so, but I think people already glow so much with all the powers and auras that this could be overlooked, especially if people are standing in a crowd.

So how about just changing their color in the League display? Make the Pacification grenades give them a bright red background and Acid give them a bright yellow. I am not talking about the pastel colors that the League window currently is, but make them STAND OUT.

Sorry, but the trial giving you another temp power that is just lost in your pile, with a "YOU GOT... !" message that is just as lost in the other "YOU GOT... !" messages in the middle of combat, and new players to that trial then not knowing what they got and that unlike all the other temp powers you occasionally get in missions these ones are vital, or how they have to use it, is not the player's fault, but bad design.

Making everyone know who failed to do everything right so everybody can be mad at them is not a good fix but a bad workaround.

And no, I also don't think we need yetanotherfunkyglow(tm) annoying everyone, thank you very much, plus as has been pointed out it will be lost among all the other glow and spammy effects anyway.

This, though, would be a really good approach imo. It is clearly visible, showing that it's something special, meant for this mission, and could give a little popup text on mouseover explaining what it does. It can still say you got a temp power and add it to your pile, but this, I think, will help and make the gaming experience much better.

How about putting big 36 point font size, bolded red letters above their heads saying "I have <x amount> of Acid/Grenades".
