    Mids vs Game %

Please tell me that you're not really getting all bothered over a defensive difference which will see you being hit 6 more times every 10,000 attacks.

It's also worth pointing out to all the folks saying, "Oh, quit whining and auto-complete your way through" that the very first mission can't be auto-completed. Just logged in and got it on a character to verify my aging brain wasn't mis-remembering, and I have the option to abandon it, but not complete it.

They aren't talking about using the once-every-3-days auto-complete option. They are talking about using the "Complete same mission" option, where if 2 people have the same mission, and they both run it, they both get completion as if they were the mission holder.
  3. Even with Tough/Weave, my /Fire brute is ultra squishy. Acrobatics is not optional. Every damned attack you face past about level 20 will have knockback/knockdown to it.

The devs have gone mad and removed every restriction on powers!
    Every restriction? Ok...

    Primary:
    Smite [Scrapper]
    Ribcracker [Scrapper]
    Total Focus [Stalker]
    Crowd Control [Scrapper]
    Fireball [Blaster]
    Rain of Fire [Corruptor]
    Thunder Strike [Scrapper]
    Blazing Aura [Brute]
    Enervating Field [Defender]

    Secondary:
    Power Boost [Defender]
    Fulcrum Shift [Defender]
    Drain Psyche [Blaster]
    Entropic Aura [Scrapper]
    Quick Recovery [Whatever]
    Farsight [Defender]
    Lightning Reflexes [Tanker]
    Charged Armor [Tanker]
    Fire Shield [Tanker]
  5. I don't really understand the purpose of 6-slotting Provoke, when the slots put there mean that your defenses are all woefully underslotted, so you won't survive being hit by whatever you decide to use Provoke on.

Also, Shadow Maul should come WAY earlier than 28. It's one of the best attacks in the entire game. I wouldn't recommend waiting much past level 4 for it.

Toyed with it a bit. Little lower on regen, but 36.5 S/L defense, with about 34% for E/N/F/C. One small purple will softcap you to everything but Psi, and that won't be far behind.
I wasn't actually looking for advice, I'm quite happy with the build as it is.

And I certainly would never consider taking some of my main attacks and 5-slotting them in order to build up...Brawl. Brawl. Seriously? I realize it's a set mule, but you couldn't at least put those slots in Boxing?
  8. I only take Hasten on my Defenders for things like Accelerate Metabolism, Chrono Shift.

Even my Broadsword scrapper doesn't have any use for Hasten. Any extra damage inflicted by attacking a bit faster would be more than compensated by the tremendous amount of extra endurance that gets used, and that char starves for blue bar enough as it is.

    Some build Help

This version hits harder, several attacks hit faster, has fractionally more defense, a lot more resistance, gets key powers sooner, has better endurance recovery, regens faster, has more hp, regens more HP per second due to the two previous advantages...

And despite having 2 of the most expensive PvP IOs in the game, is still cheaper to slot out.

It's also a highly functional build if you ignore the 3 defensive PvP purples and slot with far cheaper options.

  10. Alison Brie is my current target of stalking...err, I mean affection.

    She's just so yummy.

    /drool.

Also, the show is incredibly funny. Loaded with in-jokes, brick jokes, meta humor, it rips off movies and other shows shamelessly, there's all kinds of background stuff that you have to really see to get (like the episode where Abed was never in the middle frame, but spent the whole background helping a woman go into labor and give birth). No two episodes are ever really the same. Most sit-coms you could take almost any 2 episodes and barely tell the difference between them. That is -never- the case with Community.

Hell, for the COH crowd, all you need is to see Daniel Pudi's Christian Bale Batman impersonation to love the show. Youtube to the rescue!

  11. A show was on, and I went to the bathroom during a commercial break.

Now I'm worried that they are going to sue me for piracy.
  12. I checked; there's no costume option that gives the impression of a large arrow tattoo on your forehead.

    SJ and ...???

Nope, not buying it. At best, this would represent a microscopic change in how the two sets play.

I don't see any difference between Dull Pain and using a green skittle once in a while, other than the availability of the Insp.
  14. Matuse

    SJ and ...???

Sorry, I'm having a little trouble grasping this.

How does clicking dull pain every 2 minutes or so add some huge extra dynamic?

    SJ and ...???

    Quote:
I personally suggest anything but Willpower. I find the toggle up and smash things approach as being very boring. I also generally prefer Scrappers to Brutes because I like criticals. You may have a different opinion. Something you may want to look at is SJ/Invuln.
Just so I understand it, you dislike WP because it is "Toggle up and go", but you recommend Inv instead? Inv has fewer toggles (more passives) than WP, and the only regular click power is Dull Pain. So...1 click once in a while takes a set from boring to nonstop excitement?

Why not just open up with "I don't like WP, and I think there are too many WP characters in the game", and not try to hide the real origin of your opinion?

Some of us LIKE having a secondary that we don't need to fuss around with, particularly with a primary that attacks as fast as StJ. I find having to micromanage my defenses to be very boring, when it's not very irritating. Under no circumstances is it ever fun or exciting or interesting. Perhaps when dispensing advice, you could at least pretend to have some objectivity on the matter.
  16. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria!

On a related note, this mayan calender thing has gotten completely out of hand, and it's only going to get worse.

It's a CALENDER. It's not even ending, it's just rolling over to the next very large number (like 13,000,000). It is no more a sign of doomsday than the gregorian calender going from 1999 to 2000, or your car's odometer going from 99,999 to 100,000 miles.

The measurement of days and years is a purely human construct, mostly done so that farmers would know when to plant things. The planet does not care what day or year it is on which calender. The universe cares even less. Unless crazy psycho people ACT to make it some kind of doomsday, then there will be nothing that happens.

Here's a great article on the subject: http://qntm.org/mesoamerican

Gordon IS NOT a war hero. He was a marine if I remember right and then left and became a cop in chicago...and then when he got a dirty cop sent to prison he was ostracized until he moved to Gotham where he was considered a trouble maker and still is considered that, even 10 years down the line
He didn't mean a literal army shooting war. He meant the war against crime in Gotham.

Why are you playing a game where you feel the current dev team, which is doing new and creative things IMO, is unable to accomplish this feat of balancing PvP?
Because it is flat out impossible period without making the various sides of this PvP competition completely identical to one another.

It's not a question of the limitation of the dev team. It's the limitation of the playstyle. It simply cannot ever be done absent everyone being a clone.

PvP in Chess works. PvP in [Insert Basically Every Online Game Ever Made] cannot.

And please spare me any stories about how Game X or Game Y made it work. Because they didn't, I promise you.

If you have super speed and sprint, all you really needs is Inertial Reduction.
So all you actually need is Inertial Reduction then.

I did the bobsled with Superspeed on and off. It made ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in my times. None. Not even a half second.
  20. I see that set of descriptions in a job title, and the one and only thing I can think of is "Elim Garak". With all due respect to Mr. Gary Oldman (for whom I have an immense amount of respect), he is not Andrew Robinson.
  21. Statesman has struck me from day 1 as a bland mary sue. You couldn't have contrived to find a more boring superhero.

The only way I'll notice he's not there is the Statesman TF.
  22. No episode will EVER top the Chili Cook-Off where Homer eats Guatemalan insanity peppers. It had Johnny Cash, for cripes sake.

But this one wasn't too bad. Especially during the christmas photo montage. Apparently Lisa experimented in college; she brought home -two- girlfriends in one picture.
  23. All of my characters have Combat Jumping, period.

Even long before IO's made it godly for LotG, Kismet, etc, it was an indispensable power to have.
  24. It's funny, you live in the universe your whole life, but you never do these things until someone comes to visit!
