Thematically, Clockwork are quite different from standard robots - and I fail to see how anyone other than the Clockwork King could manipulate them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh really... well, if you insist *cough*demon*cough*
  2. Quite a few times.... on my Mastermind.

On my Stone Tank? Not so much (in fact not at all!)
  3. Well, after a nice lengthy PvP session with a nice group I have a new tactic to add...

    Remote Commander
    Required Powers: None, Leadership/Tactics Helpful
In PvP, a Masterminds henchmen are often ignored as an "irritation" although when working in concert they do very decent DoT. As such, you can often send in your henchmen without you (especially after squishies) for a few cheap kills.

Choose a nice squishy target (Blasters, Controllers, Defenders) and tell your henchmen to attack. Stay as far away from the fight as possible - only staying close enough to still be able to target your opponent. Tactics from the Leadership pool will help you keep stealthed opponents in sight.

You can tell if they flee as your henchmen with auto-resummon next to you if they go more than 170 yards away.

Best used in the middle of a big fight, where your opponent doesn't really have time to work out that you're using this tactic.

Stealth, INvisibility, Superior invisibility, none of them work in PvP, it complete and utter (censored) but uv gotta put up with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Works fine on my Elec/Elec Blaster to give me a touch of a suprise factor when I snipe from range.

Now, if you're trying to be a Stalker as a hero, well it just ain't going to wash - almost anyone will see through unstacked stealth powers at melee range!
  5. Master Zaprobo

    Running for home

Defeat me with my henches up, I'll applaud you - double-bonus points for getting me after taking all my henches out Trash me when I'm fleeing back to base to resummon and I'll think you've got a cheap kill

PvP would be so much easier once I have some SO's slotted again!
  6. Master Zaprobo

    help me

Show's what I know about PvP can be fitted into a thimble I would trust Mesmer's advice on this one, heaven knows why *g*
  7. Master Zaprobo

    help me

Toggle drops can be a downer - or a bonus if you're using them

Plan for it - you see a Blaster closing to melee you can be fairly sure they're going for a toggle-drop. Hit up some Break Free Inspirations, or hit back with a mez/stun/KB attack of your own.

A strategically popped Break Free will stop the stun landing, and even if your toggles are dropped you can click them back on.

That said, at the end of the day you can't always win 1 vs 1 against certain builds. I'm usually a Mastermind, and I have next to no chance of survival in PvP except when turtled in PFF (and not even then!)

Skill (gained by experience) will help you work out counters to certain moves. Recruit other villains and gang up on the heroes It doesn't have to be a fair fight!
  8. Master Zaprobo

    help me

Toe-to-toe with a blapper you will actually decimate them. A lot of the unblanace in PvP right now is the fact that heroes can be fully slotted with green SO's, maxed out with accuracy and attacks.

Villains can't match it as our level cap is not yet L50.

Match yourself up with a Blapper of comparitive level and slotting and you should do much better - your defenses will protect you, and your squishy opponent will have to flee or die.
  9. Melee/Mid-Range Madness
    (/macro Go2 "petcom goto pas")
    (/macro Atk! "petcom att agg")

This is a tactic often used on Ninjas, but of some decent use to other Masterminds at high levels. Got a Smoke Bomb'd Oni you want in range for Critical Firebreath? Assault Bot to get in range for a wodge of AoE Death (Flamethrower, Swarm Missiles, Incendiary Missiles)? Ninja you want in melee for their decent non-Ranged attacks? You'll want a bit of fine control then! Using the above macros, you'll need to select the henchman in question and use "Go2" to get it into position. Then, target the chosen mob and use the "Atk!" macro to get your henchmen to open fire.

    Roleplayers?

ARAD are a group of semi-RPers, with a themed supergroup. Scientists (*/Traps, Assault Rifle/* Corruptors, Robotics/* Masterminds) and Robots (any AT/Powerset, but visibly looking like a robot). Origins of Natural, Tech or Science

Currently sitting pretty with a nice small core of players, and a reasonably functional bare-bones SG "Lab" (read: base).

We'd love a few new faces so if you've not actually created a RP toon have a look at us at http://arad.bbfun.com/

Only problem with our tp solution is only the arcane raid teleporter fits in the small tp room so we're using that rather than the tech one...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless it's been changed since beta, the Tech Raid Teleporter does fit in the small room.

However, it's tight. No more than one door, and don't be standing in the room when you place it! It was doable, I'm sure.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    2. An inherent mez resistance power ? - maybe just against psionics ( we should have an extraordinary large brain considering our AT :P ) - because if you get held, or asleep you can't control your pets so you are a total joke ( others might say they are defenseless too when held, but we MMs have the lowest hitpoints so we die way quicker than any other held AT ).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bah, if you're in danger of being mezzed I normally switch my henchies to Aggressive so even if I get hit, my henchmen fight on!

Also, I like letting my bots get mezzed - Dispersion stops the holds and immobs, and they're naturally resistant to Sleep
  13. And if this is a free-for-all?

Q: How does a Robotics Mastermind "summon" robots.
A: The communication panel implanted into the arm of the Mastermind links to a construction/teleport system at an evil lair of the villains choice. The creation is either teleported inside a crate (Drone), with a deployment cradle (Protectors) or into nearby airspace for landing (Assault).

The same methodology is used for administering upgrades - the equipping harness is teleported in under the feet of the robot in question.
  14. For the stock-purchaseable items (Basic Generator, Database, etc.) if they are perma-destroyed in a Base Raid surely you would recover the Prestige?

Then the issue is more down to one of Salvage-built items being replaced...

Anyone know one way or t'other?
  15. Master Zaprobo

    Formations

Nope - the only option you have right now is using the /petcom goto command.

Something much wanted I'm sure, from some quarters. Me, I can do without it - henches naturally scatter from burn patches
  16. Mercy Island (Etoile Islands) - Arachnos Research and Development (ARAD) have today completed the first stage of their laboratory structure.

Outfitted with the latest in power generation developed by Chief Scientist Dr E Genius, the new lab has state-of-the-art Basic and Advanced Worktables for the construction of new devices and upgrades for Arachnos Personnel. These automated facilities were constructed as a result of plans acquired by Chief Scientist Doc Bot.

Courtesy of founder and Chief Scientist Master Zaprobo, the facility has been provided with site-to-site telepads, enabling quick access to the Port Oakes and the Nerva Archipelago.

  17. Post-26 - don't buff us, buff our big henchman (Lich, Oni, Commando, Assault Bot) as they'll get the most benefit from it.

We have a Buff/Support secondary ourselves so can generally take care of henchmen ourselves, but more survivability on our Tier Three will never go amiss.
  18. If yer on late and don't get a better offer Dr E, my Blaster could do with giving this the once over.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Except I don't think you can actually use it in PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can't see why not. Perhaps if you did the mission with a high level character, and then go to a lower level PvP Zone you'd be out of luck as it counts as a power gained at your upper level, and hence not available when malefactor'd/exemplar'd to lower levels?
  20. The Valentines event at the moment will grant you a very scary temporary power called "Nectar" which is a combined AOE Placate and Confuse.

I can see that being nasty in PvP in a big fight - pop a bunch of Acc Insps and then drop it on bunch of players in a massive fight. I expect that noone will realise for at least one or two attacks.
  21. As a Mastermind it's easy enough to just run in circles and avoid everything except ranged attacks from mobs on outdoor missions while your henchmen do the killing.

On the cape mission I was faced against an Elec Blaster, who fell very quickly as I hovered above. The rest of the Longbow ambush couldn't do diddly.

Master_Zaprobo: Ordering the medic to attack a minion (for example one of the wounded soldier) does not make the medic to heal him. I tried it a lot, and nothing happened... unless i do it bad

I know - like I said, you used to be able to in beta. It was "fixed"

    Merc/pois build

Hmm, a bit of slotting I'd change (remove from Fly, add to Tac Upg and Elixir, migrate a Heal or two in Aid Other into RchgRdx) but otherwise now looks solid to me.

Remember though, that the fourth SO of any one type in a power is almost a waste (so long as they are green).
