Toe-to-toe with a blapper you will actually decimate them. A lot of the unblanace in PvP right now is the fact that heroes can be fully slotted with green SO's, maxed out with accuracy and attacks.
Villains can't match it as our level cap is not yet L50.
Match yourself up with a Blapper of comparitive level and slotting and you should do much better - your defenses will protect you, and your squishy opponent will have to flee or die.
me defences dont last 2 attacks before theyre down and im stunned, then im just as squishy as them with a bit more hp.
so thats not an option, plus when they get low on health they get defiance boost, wich is simply awesome.
I'm assuming your referring to a Siren's Call fight. Blappers rule in Siren's because they can knock off your toggles. Once you get your 32+ uber defense/resistance whatever power, you'll have a much better chance of beating them. This means Warburg or the future lv 50 PVP zone.
However, if you're a Fire Brute and you get Rise of the Phoenix at lv 32.... you're dead. Enjoy Rise of the Phoenix though 
. I'd say the same goes for Dark Armour, but they can PBAOE fear, which is very annoying for a blapper.
Which brings me to another point. Use Mez attacks. Most blappers will not have any mez protection, unless they bring break free's or are in a good team. Touch of Fear if you have Dark Melee, Stun or Total Focus if your Energy Melee, Seismic Smash for Stone melee (or any of the knockdowns it has), Knockout Blow if you're Superstrength. Again Fire gets screwed as Fire melee doesn't seem to have any mezzes.
Toggle drops can be a downer - or a bonus if you're using them
Plan for it - you see a Blaster closing to melee you can be fairly sure they're going for a toggle-drop. Hit up some Break Free Inspirations, or hit back with a mez/stun/KB attack of your own.
A strategically popped Break Free will stop the stun landing, and even if your toggles are dropped you can click them back on.
That said, at the end of the day you can't always win 1 vs 1 against certain builds. I'm usually a Mastermind, and I have next to no chance of survival in PvP except when turtled in PFF (and not even then!)
Skill (gained by experience) will help you work out counters to certain moves. Recruit other villains and gang up on the heroes 
It doesn't have to be a fair fight!

Ok, for the love of god, do not waste your time by trying to get your toggles back up. A blaster running aim+build up will kill you in the time it takes you to get them back up. I say pop a break free, to prevent mezzing, hit your self heal, if you have one and pound him into the ground. Blasters are squishy after all. I guarantee you, you will lose if you waste time trying to get toggles back up. Any time I fight someone with my blaster and i see them trying to get their toggles back up, I already know I've won.
Either run, or hit them back....hard.
Show's what I know about PvP can be fitted into a thimble I would trust Mesmer's advice on this one, heaven knows why *g*
yeah i usually pop a strenght of will if i see a blapper closing in gor melee and glowing red and yellow and try to run for 10 secs.
im /da so i dont have a cool 38 power for defence and the few tests ive done with oppresive gloom in the arena have not been good.
i might respec into handclap as a ss/ to see if that helps.
you are the enemy, i will not help, except to say when you see us hit out buffs (Aim, Build up and sometimes powerboost if Enegry seconday) run away for 6-10 seconds. I fought one brute, we were both at 40, ti was 1-1 at the end and an interesting match. I dropped his toggles twice, the second time 2 seconds before the timer ran out... GAH

im a brute and i cant stabd toe to toe with you, i abviously cant beat you at range, all im doing now is jousting using Kb, but more often than not ill end up gettin stunned,
can anyone beat you apart from 1 hitters from stalkers?
id like to know who gives you the most trouble in pvp as currently all my armour and heath means jack [censored]
