Two things stand out. First you desperately need to upgrade your video drivers. They are over two years old.

Second the rebooting is a common symptom of overheating. Open up your case and clean everything out thoroughly with some canned air. Any fans you blow clean make sure to hold the fan in place with a pencil eraser while you are blowing them so that the fan doesn't spin.

Another cheap alternative if you are still overheating after cleaning it out is to get a desk fan. Leave the case open and aim the fan inside when playing.

When you have lethal the Carnies melt like butter. I love them on my scrappers.

Also when using compressed air or really any type of air to blow parts clean make absolutely sure that the fans don't spin. The easiest way to do this is hold them in place with a pencil eraser. A fan when spun becomes an inefficient but functional generator. The small electrical current it creates probably shouldn't damage anything but with computers probably and shouldn't are like looking in a mirror and chanting Biggie Smalls three times.

Haven't seen this happen for ages but here is how I fixed it. I used the skip the updater shortcut (make a shortcut to cityofheroes.exe not cohupdater.exe. At the end of the shortcut add -project coh. It will look like this. "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh) then use it to get into the game. Quit out of the game normally and the updater should work fine again.

This of course assumes that cohupdater did it's job and downloaded all the necessary files the first time.

If this does not work then go into your game directory and delete coh.checksum and cohupdater.prv. Then move the cohupdater.exe file to your desktop and run it from there pointing it at the game directory.

Well, for one thing your version of xp is only service pack 2. You should upgrade to service pack 3 for added safety though it will do nothing for you being able to play the game.

But honestly with that video card and that amount of ram it is unlikely you will ever be able to play the game even in safe mode. It's possible that if you make a hero (in the hero zone not in Praetoria) then you might be able to load the tutorial. The hero tutorial is the oldest and most visually simple starting zone and I've seen threads a couple years ago where somebody with a low end video card and virtually no ram was able to load and play in the tutorial but not enter the city.

I really wish NCSoft would make it clear on both their website and their boxes that in order to play the game well you need a computer capable of playing Crysis. This is really not a game for low end or even mid range systems.

Well like I said, other than those two things it wasn't bad. Now go review Big Trouble in Little China.

I can see how this might be annoying to some. After all it seems like the standard mission level for solo play is already set at +1 level, equivalent to 3 heroes. I personally like it but have noticed that a lot of people would like to lower it.

Nice to see the current generation not only watch but enjoy and review classic movies.

Not bad for a first attempt but here is my criticism.

First, if you are going to review a movie you should probably spell it correctly. Khan, not Kahn.

Second. Did you actually watch the whole movie or just fast forward through it to the good scenes? My reason for asking this is that throughout the review you keep calling the character played by Kirstie Alley, suh-VOCK. Her name is spoken many times throughout the movie and is more like SAH-vick. Geeks are the most nit picking beings on the face of the planet and when you both misspell the title of the movie and mispronounce character names it will pretty much invalidate not only this review but any future review of yours for some of them.

Only if there is an option to turn it off. Or better yet an opt in option. Not because I wouldn't use it. In fact I would use it and love it. But instead so I don't have to hear all the whining in broadcast and over various channels about how horrible it is and how it gave somebody a migraine headache that lasted for 3 months.

Sorry but I just happen to hate 3d detractors. Not those who just don't like it but those who want motion picture and game companies to completely stop attempting to refine and use it. If you don't want to see something in 3d then don't see it in 3d. If we were to follow the thought processes of some of these people 3d would be banned. Of course if we are going to do that then color should be banned because color blind people can't enjoy it as much as good crisp black and white footage. Or better yet ban visual mediums all together since blind people will enjoy movies much more if they are just audio dramas. We can still call them movies though because they move you emotionally.

And before somebody jumps on this post due to their own inability to decipher what I am saying. No I am not saying that eliminating 3d will lead to eliminating all visual media. I am saying that your argument that 3d is worthless and shouldn't be pursued is the same as an argument by a blind person that visuals are worthless and shouldn't be pursued. Just because you can't get enjoyment out of it doesn't mean others shouldn't.

And for Samuel. Are you able to use viewmasters normally? They are using the exact same method that the above pictures do only they present the images separately to each eye. I've always been able to see the stereoscopic images like in this thread just as easily and comfortably as with a viewmaster. I suspect you have the type of vision where one eye is strongly dominant. If the two views don't conflict then both eyes will focus fine. However if they do conflict as in the images caused by red/green or alternate polarization or indeed the crossed eyes to see the above 3d (although the central image focus is the same everything in the background is different.) then the dominant eye takes over and the secondary eye loses focus causing 3d to become nothing more than 2d with a blurring that sort of simulates 3d. It's the second eye trying to regain focus as you concentrate on the 3d that causes the eye strain. If this is the case and you can use viewmasters fine then a headset that presented separate images to each eye should work fine for you. Unfortunately nobody uses that method yet except some primitive vr demo concepts.

If you had petitioned odds are a GM would have been there within 5 minutes. At least I've never had to wait longer than that. Quint is right though. Council bases suck because there are so many little crawl spaces hidden behind blind corners and back walls that even though you expose all the map you may have not been in all the rooms.

Loved it. Thought I had already said so here but I must have been mistaken. So I'll doubly reinforce that. Loved it.

It was one of those rare movies which I wanted to see again immediately after seeing it the first time.

But I will emphasize one of them. Darths and Droids Episode 1. If you have ever been part of a gaming group it will have you laughing hysterically throughout.

Episode 2 has it's hits and misses so far.

The signs aliens weren't stupid. See, to their species the chemical composition of our bodies is a very powerful narcotic. Once dehydrated and powdered, humans pull in big bucks on the galactic market. But of course the drug lords themselves aren't going to be out there picking the harvest any more than drug lords here on Earth do. The aliens in signs are the poor migrant children stolen (or sold) from the arms of their families and thrust out into the drug fields to gather the product. A death or maiming of one of them means nothing as they are easily replaceable.

My personal vote is for all the alien invaders from the giant monster movies. Either Godzilla or Gamera kicks the butt of their giant monster or robot every single time they try to invade. After a while you would think they would get the hint but they always head straight for Tokyo.

I have to sign this because I really want to ride a dead horse as a vehicle. Would you ride on the back of the horse and it just looks like a zombie horse? Or would the horse be lying on it's back and you hold it's feet kind of like a jet ski?

CoHHelper and Hijackthis and we'll be able to see your computer setup and get a better idea what is going on.

Also that's an intel driver which means you've likely got intel integrated video which means that playing this game on your current system will be like trying to drive on the freeway with two flat tires.

Now possible solutions. First try a registry cleaner. There may be some left over invalid registry entries that are causing the problem. Then update your drivers to the latest you can find.

It will get released on the net. And about two hours later it will be pulled down from all the sites that have it. Exactly like the Thor trailer that was up right after comicon.

You really needed at least one other category in this. The WTF category where when it is done you aren't really sure what you just watched but you know it disturbed you. The best example of that category I can think of would be Rubber Johnny

I want Clockwork, KOA and Ghoul. I've got the others. I'm "hopefully" going to make it to PAX on Sunday this year so I should get that code. Just wish there was a pack for sale that included all the codes. I would purchase it even though I've already got Tank, Harlequin, PPD and Ring Mistress, just because I'm a completionist at this sort of thing.
