Another COHUPDATER.EXE error
For what it's worth subsequent to yesterdays patch I appear to be encountering the same issue: when launched cohupdater.eu.exe attempts to verify image and then immediately crashes with the same error message as above.
Which is irritating as I kinda wanted to play more of GR but ah well....

Haven't seen this happen for ages but here is how I fixed it. I used the skip the updater shortcut (make a shortcut to cityofheroes.exe not cohupdater.exe. At the end of the shortcut add -project coh. It will look like this. "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh) then use it to get into the game. Quit out of the game normally and the updater should work fine again.
This of course assumes that cohupdater did it's job and downloaded all the necessary files the first time.
If this does not work then go into your game directory and delete coh.checksum and cohupdater.prv. Then move the cohupdater.exe file to your desktop and run it from there pointing it at the game directory.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
Have had the account set up on my pc for weeks now with no issues. Installed and played the new expansion since the beginning of the week. Even played last night with no issues.
Tonight, after the patch, however, different story. After patching it ran an image check then blew off with a "cohupdater.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it immediately closes down.
I have sent an email off to support but please post a solution if one is presented to you by NCSOFT.
I definitely don't want to go the reinstall route unless absolutely necessary.
