I Review The Wrath of Kahn (video review)
Nice to see the current generation not only watch but enjoy and review classic movies.
Not bad for a first attempt but here is my criticism.
First, if you are going to review a movie you should probably spell it correctly. Khan, not Kahn.
Second. Did you actually watch the whole movie or just fast forward through it to the good scenes? My reason for asking this is that throughout the review you keep calling the character played by Kirstie Alley, suh-VOCK. Her name is spoken many times throughout the movie and is more like SAH-vick. Geeks are the most nit picking beings on the face of the planet and when you both misspell the title of the movie and mispronounce character names it will pretty much invalidate not only this review but any future review of yours for some of them.

Crap, I knew the geek nomenclature would get to me at some point. as to Sivaak, I thought they had said it how I said it but I guess I was wrong. Like I said in the video, I don't know know a whole lot yet i.e. I haven't had the luxury of watching it twenty times so occasionally something will be lost in translation. Oh well, I hope the geeks can forgive me.
Well like I said, other than those two things it wasn't bad. Now go review Big Trouble in Little China.

Hey guys,
I didn't have the best of geeky childhoods, and I am only now finally able to catch up with all the great essential geek movies and TV shows. When I realized I would be watching a bunch of these movies as a new geek to be, I figured; Why not make a video series and a reviewer about it? I decided to do just that, and my first review is ready to share with internet land Internet people, my review of one of the essential geek movies: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn I don't mind constructive criticism but I gotta point out there were a few unavoidable audio drops due to formatting. Yes I know it appears on Ozzie Arcane's website, but that's because we are now semi collaborating on the site and the content. |
Ok, enough creepiness. Some feedback:
Very entertaining. Voice and facial inflections very good. Hand gestures... not so much. Need to work on making them seem more natural in movement.
You mentioned it in passing, but you should emphasize yourself as the Geek *Apprentice*. The 'apprentice' part shows some humility and vulnerability... and is a great excuse for making mistakes! It also get old-timers rooting for you and wanting to help you. It lets them relive their nostalgic geek moments through your eyes. And it keeps you from looking like a self-appointed know-it-all. It's also branding. It's more memorable than your name.
I look forward to your next video!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I am definitely taking the criticism into the production of the next one, and Zombie Man I think you have a great idea. The Geek Apprentice is a much catchier title then Arthur Knowledge. I think I'll refer to myself as that from now on.
The next one will be delayed for a bit, due to college starting up Monday. However as soon as I get a DVD of Batman (Burton) I am going to get started.
