Thanks for the responses! I will probably go Mu, just because the set is so jam-packed with nice toys. Although I will probably need to re-coordinate my costumes to work with red lightning. :-/

I've got an Elec/Cold and Elec/Rad both in the high 30s. I've been playing both as sapper control, so that even the odd resistant enemy is too exhausted to fight back. I'm juggling two options right now to finish off and enhance the -end effect:
Power Sink from Mu Mastery
and
Power Boost from Primal Forces Mastery
They have comparable base recharges (120 seconds.)
Power sink has a -35 end base, Power Boost would really depend on exactly its boosting, but it also comes with some other nice side effects.
Power Sink is available at 41, Power Boost not until 47.
Mu Mastery comes with a pretty nice set of desirable powers. Primal seems to have some fluff, like Conserve Power, which doesn't seem too vital for an Elec Controller, and some KB attacks, which are not great for a set with no -KB immob.
Obviously I'm leaning pretty strong towards MU, but I was wondering if anyone has field tested one or both sets? -
Quote:NPCs don't react to much of anything, except maybe to go running away like lunatics. All they do is casually wave as the stroll on by. You could make a sound argument that the citizens of Paragon have seen literally everything and pretty much nothing phases them before.Nothing like getting your face punched in on a street corner while Office McApathy idly twirls his nightstick not 15 feet from you.See, just doing that would bug me. I could even accept no other visual elements (like shiny surfaces or water puddling in places) but the NPC reactions-- casually walking along, waving, like nothing's different-- THAT kind of visual stimulus would break it for me-- it'd be no different than no weather at all.... adding nothing to my sense that the City's experiencing anything different at all. (Winter's worse... where's the winter coats, the shivering, the warming of hands, etc?)
You think a little rain or snow is going to phase these people after getting hassled by DIY cyborgs and Polynesian zombies? -
I'm in the pro-weather camp, and i think they could achieve some reasonable (without being intrusive effects) without crushing subpar systems (like mine.)
Rain doesn't need to be sheets and sheets of rendered graphics. Something as simple as an ambient rain sound effect and an alternate sky (like during Rikti Invasions) with the occasion pulse and sound effect of lightning/thunder.
Same with snow. Gray skies, diffused lights and the soft sigh of snowfall.
I LOVE the idea of the odd weather event, like Lusca or the Ghost Ship. A big ol' tornado sets down, and heroes unite to disperse it. The idea of punching a tornado out of existence is all kinds of awesome.
I'd even be cool with buffs/debuffs to the weather. Something like:
During Snow/Winter, all cold powers recharge 3% faster, all fire powers recharge 3% slower.
During electrical storms, all electrical/storm powers do 3% more damage
and so on. So long as it cuts both ways- I was to go hunting Hellions in the snow!
And it would only be outdoors, where hardly anyone even bothers to fight any more, but we all travel through. -
One of the advantages of Earth is that once your drop your pseudo-pets, like Quicksand, EQ, VC, it doesn't matter quite so much if you get mezzed. Take a nap, they'll keep right on trucking.
With Rad... its more complicated. You lose your toggles. No Choking Cloud, no massive debuffs. Even if you just get held/sleeped/stunned for a fraction of a second, you have to rebuild your support from the ground up.
My Fire/Rad has mez protection- she is a nightmare to play without it.
My Earth/Storm doesn't. i don't even notice if he gets mezzed unless I happened to have Hurricane on at the time.
With Earth/Rad... well, i guess you're somewhere in between. -
Anyone tried slotting this one for End mod? It has a -10% base (I'm guessing around around -15% with 3 slots?) Not much by itself, but the power cycles so quickly, you could cycle it a couple of times with CA, SF, and CF add to the -end.
Also, does the Chance for +Recharge proc from Force Feedback only check on the first target? -
My Fire/Rad troller. She's my main, my badger and all that. Although my Fire/Fire/Fire blaster just hit 50, and she is such a reckless bats#!t ball of fun to play, she is a hot (no pun intended) contender.

Does this mean my suggestion for realistic boob physics actually stands a chance?!
Hooray! -
I have an Elec/Cold just shy of getting Heat Loss. He's been pretty fun so far, but I am hoping HL will make the whole experience come together nicely.
-
OoooOOoooh. That is yummy, isnt it...
I may have to go that route for my Fire/Fire/Fire blaster too to rev up my Nuke/Die/RotP attack chain! -
Thanks for the help Lothic. I'm almost tempted to reroll... but dang that 100 Mauraders mission was a tough one.
-
So I rolled a Stalker just for the express purpose of playing through the Praetoria content, and I am really enjoying the heck out of it. Fun stories, nice double-crosses. Nice to take the time and actually read mission flavor. Also, nice work giving the various contacts their own speaking styles. Nice touch.
I always solo, and never take out more than the bare minimum of targets to accomplish the mission. Despite that, I'm pretty sure I've already outleveled some content. The Loyalist archs alone have gotten me to 14, and I'd hate to miss good stuff on the Resistance side.
So, TL; DR, at what level(s) do i need to shut of XP to do all the content yellow-side?
Edited for typos turning into swear words... ^_^ -
Sad thing is, a lot of what you guys mentioned probably wouldn't get you fired. Get a talking-to, or get sent to counseling maybe, but if they think you have some kind of non-dangerous mental illness (or gastro-intestinal problems if you're taking your abuse out on the toilet), and that in itself might keep you for getting fired for fear of a lawsuit.
Not to worry, tho'! Getting fired can still be a breeze! The most effective method I can think of would be to give your boss a wedgie. It's a powerful 1-2 punch of Assault and Sexual Harassment in one childish gesture! -
I run WoC on my Fire/Rad, simply because I am always in melee range with HF and CC anyway. One more layer is actually nice, especially against enemies that buff/debuff, like the Lts on the ITF or DE emitters. It is definitely not a reason unto itself to go charging onto the front line, and without the purple set, the confuse duration is patheticly small.
The power is gravy at best, on top of other PBAoE powers, and it could probably a little dev love. -
Personally, I'm quite happy Conductive Aura does no damage. It keeps me alive in melee range, letting me sap and debuff while my teammates in relative safety and peace. A few measly ticks of damage aren't worth the aggro.

I rolled a KM/DA stalker recently, for the express purpose of soling Praetoria content. I've been REALLY REALLY enjoying it, both the toon and the content.
Never teamed her. Never fought an enemy I didn't need to to complete the mission. Took on as many contacts as I could. And the best part was I could log on for 10-15 minutes and go through 2-3 missions, just enjoying the story. More like an interactive novel than an MMO. -
I have a Elec/Rad at 28 and a Elec/Cold at 33. The Rad combo is very solid, almost too solid sometimes. My only complaint is that, after playing a number of Rads over the years, it feels too familiar. The Cold is pretty interesting, esp. since I dont have as much experience with it. Ice shielded gremlins look REALLY cool, too. I'm hoping when I hit 38 the end drain combo will go from :-) to 8-D
-
That was a blast! I've been out of the loop that past week or so with family stuff, so it was fortunate for me i just happened to log in at the right time with my Justice Girl, who happened to be in Atlas!

Elec's Confuse and Sleep can do wonders to diffuse the alpha. I've juggled multiple ambushes with relative ease with those two powers and some healthy end drain.
Elec's damage is pretty pathetic, esp pre-pet. Teaming, esp at lower levels, would definitely take the edge off the grind. I solo'd my cape missions the other day with my elec/cold. If it wasn't for my vet attacks, I would prolly still be trying to finish them. -
I was playing my sonic blaster a few nights ago, and it struck that it would be both cool and thematic that there was a moment of Knockforward (in other words, Knockback in reverse) right before she exploded her nuke. The idea was that she was inhaling such a massive amount of air to summon that sound, she actually pulled enemies towards her, and sometimes into range of her nuke.
Seems like this would be a very handy effect, to help keep enemies clustered or to snag/retrieve fleeing enemies. Gravity Control in particular seems like a proper place for that sort of effect. -
I kinda like it when they get off a parting shot. Reminds me of one of my favorite "Deep Thoughts":
"I bet for an Indian, shooting an old fat pioneer woman in the back with an arrow, and she fires her shotgun into the ground as she falls over, is like the top thing you can do. Jack Handey" -
Boilerplate response: What do you want to do with it?
I have an Elec/Cold at 33 right now, built to be a team-oriented buff/debuff machine. Very little damage (so i never solo him) but he's pretty good at juggling multiple mobs and supporting teams of any size.
Elec and Cold are both pretty low damage, and seem to shine better as support, and with that in mind, the only thing that jumps out at me is you take your two shields very late in the game, and slot more for bonuses than optimal defence. -
I rolled a KM/DA stalker for the express purpose of soloing through the Praetoria content. She's been alot fo fun to play, and I'm excited to see how the changes to DA will work once I get CoF.
Anyhow, my wishlist:
-Indoor missions. Lots of blind turns, hiding spots, vators, etc. Lots of ways to Strike & Hide, esp in the pre-Placate levels.
-No +percep enemies. Stupid drones!
-No escorts.
-No allies. Personally, I hate dragging around NPCs, even if they pull their weight. I almost always try to ditch allies and just come back for them later if I need to the to complete the mission.
-No enemies with damage/debuff auras.
-Ambushes! I love watching an angry mob swarm in, then stand around scratching their heads.
-Good story, fun flavor text, emotes, etc. Dress it up. Nothing like having a target curse the heavens in your name after you stab them in the back. /warmfuzzies -
Yeah, I always keep IW on auto, but I have yet to find a smooth way of making sure Hasten fires when its ready. Maybe I should bind it to jump/spacebar or something...
