Backspace is bound to the equivalent of "/beginchat /tell LastPersonWhoSentMeATell, "

The reason is that /r is prone to mistells. Imagine the following situation.

    RLFriend: Hi!
    Me: /r Heya!
    RLFriend: How's it going?
Me: /r Long and embarrassing story about recent events that takes a while to type.

Now imagine, right before you hit enter on the last part, you get:

    RandomPerson: lft?

But don't react fast enough. Whoops, your last /r just sent your long and embarrassing story to RandomPerson...

I think her 'mistell' is a worse offender.

It still made me laugh, though.

    Ridiculous.
It's designed that way so that you can slot it into Healing Aura/Heal Other/etc and it will give the target of your heal the +HP/+End when it goes off.
  4. Don't reward windows like that usually come back after logging out?

I wonder if it's possible to avoid selecting anything until after you make it to level 20 and complete the morality mission...
  5. More to the second part of your post, I played an Electric/FF controller whose target Alpha was Nerve Total Radial Revamp (and would have been Radial Paragon, but it's not a character I wanted to push for Tier 4 on).

Nerve is certainly a choice that you don't see very often, but the radial variant enhances Hold, Defense Buff, and Confuse, so every bit of enhancement from it is useful.

I don't particularly recall Electric benefiting a huge amount from recharge, so it might even be a candidate for your first question.

Wonder if they're going to fix the existing Interface powers before they add new ones.

One of my favorite things to do was get a team of 8 set to invincible, find a cluster of close doors, and have everyone spam-click at once.

Last year though, the new difficulty settings didn't seem to be reliably affecting Halloween spawns, so it wasn't quite the same.

When I saw '5 tricks', all I could think of was a bunch of werewolves instantly spawning around you and all throwing rocks at your head :P

    Maneuvers FX?

Dang, you beat me to it. I was about to post "Maneuvers has FX?"

Because it doesn't. Other than the generic purple shields that nearly every defense buff in the game has attached, including popping insps.

IMO, it's a bug that they're displaying at all. Both are globals and always active so long as you don't exemp too low.

    Mob KB Magnitude

I've always heard that you should go 4 or 12 -- there's almost nothing that 8 covers that 4 won't.

It's been a long time since I've been able to find a reference for that, though, so the state of things may have changed.
  12. Have you checked these issues on the test server? That's a couple patches ahead, and when I was looking around there the ascot at least seemed to be fixed.
  13. They really do need to fix that, and provide some better account info. That goes hand-in-hand with the whole hiding of already purchased items from the store. The whole store interface, and NCsoft account info page have been woefully inadequate for as long as they've existed, and desperately need a revamp.

Well, we kind of already have it -- in the form of activation time. In wow at least, most melee abilities are instant (and I mean instant). Any animation can be interrupted by movement, and abilities that are off the GCD can be spammed as fast as you can mash the keys.

Animations that root you and lock you out of your other powers do effectively the same thing as a global cooldown, just with a variable duration.

I have a character I can check this with tonight, if nobody can confirm it before then.
I just tried on my level 40 vigilante, and Arbiter Rein won't talk to me. Says maybe if I were more like him...
  16. I definitely think they're a bit overused in newer content. It's to the point where players flat out anticipate it when clicking an objective. The missions where the mobs start out "friendly" and then turn on you are even worse. Everyone is thinking "gee, that's not suspicious AT ALL", because they know exactly what is going to happen.

Overall, ambushes in general don't bother me if they make sense. What bugs the hell out of me, though, is that half the ambushes now seem to spawn in plain sight, or worse, right on top of you.

Not only is it immersion-breaking, it just reminds the player that yes, the computer cheats, and leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Please, unless the story calls for a teleport-capable group to ambush you, add some code to make sure that ambushes try to spawn out of sight of all players on the map. Bonus points if they come out of a door.

Huh, never heard it used as one, must be a regional thing. Google was kind enough to provide a meaning.

It does, but hitting them wasn't a problem between tactics and other miscellaneous to-hit buffs. It was just an issue of sustained damage output versus regen and the healing done by the green mitos.

We probably had enough holds to lock down a green, that was going to be the next strategy, but we ran out of EoEs before we gave it a serious try. And since Hami cheats and ignores defense himself...
  18. All defenders works very well, however it does have a few weaknesses (why is ****** filtered???) in its armor. An all-defender team I ran with a while back was unable to complete LGTF due to the Hami mission. With more planning and a lot more EoEs it might have been doable as we did manage to kill one mito before giving up. An all corruptor team would probably have a better shot as their base damage is higher, and some enemies cheat and ignore or reduce debuffs.

I'd imagine all-controllers would be a force to be reckoned with as well, but haven't managed to be on one that's gotten to pet levels yet. I've done it in the low levels and it's fairly painful at the start, but gets better as you get higher.

An all-dominator team would likely not fare as well due to lacking support sets. OTOH, I've been running a mixed controller/dominator (all plant) team weekly and it's a beast, so "all purple" is quite viable.
  19. *shrug*

I actually think ridiculously oversized weapons work much better in a superhero game than they do in fantasy games or anime. These are characters that actually are supposed to have the superhuman strength to lift a massive weapon and swing it around.

I haven't picked up street justice because I don't play melee characters very often; I suspect I'll end up getting titan weapons first. Probably not when it's first released and everyone is running around with them though.

Nobody here, just a big honkin' weapon standing up by itself...
  21. I'm thinking they'll release it in the middle of the Halloween event, right after everybody has blown their points on the halloween stuff Zwillinger was hinting at in the ustream.

I wouldn't expect there to be a beta just for one power set.

    This is not true.

Regardless of the misinformation you hear in the other thread. Somebody remembered wrong. When it was in beta I copied the numbers to my own edited Mids database, and looking at it on live now, it is identical.

I'm not so sure if any enforcement is done on SG names other than obviously offensive names.

Anecdotal evidence: I have a personal SG shared with a friend called "Galactic Empire" that was created on a lark when we started playing. Years and millions of prestige later, once some of our friends and other people were using it for the base, we decided we'd rather have a less... what's the word... "nerdy" name for it

Despite linking to evidence that the name was IP of Lucasfilm in the support ticket to try to get it genericed, our request for a name change was denied...

Of course, your mileage may very depending on who answers the ticket.

I think there's a failsafe on all of the beneficial procs now to keep them from going off on targets that aren't friendly, thankfully. It still won't proc on yourself like Theft of Essence does, though
