Mob KB Magnitude

So the last couple of days my SS/FA Brute has been getting knocked around like a a rag doll.
I had the Steadfast KB IO slotted, and then after my first run in with the IDF I slottted the Karma KB IO as well. Yesterday I was running some tips against Nemesis and once again I was getting knocked back.

Which mob in the IDF has KB strong enough to break Mag 8 -KB and what is the Mag of the KB on the Nemmy Staff for the Fakes? I can go grab the travel IO with -KB if needed. But the last few days is the first time I've ever had a problem, the Steadfast had been good enough against these mobs before. Did I miss a patch note?

mag 12 kb protect will protect you against 99% of the kb in game (for squishies i dont use more than 8 usually cause they shouldnt have as much aggro on them)

I've always heard that you should go 4 or 12 -- there's almost nothing that 8 covers that 4 won't.

It's been a long time since I've been able to find a reference for that, though, so the state of things may have changed.

Last I heard, the Karma -KB IO if bought from the Real Money Market was bugged. Not sure if that's where you got it from or not.

This has been my experience. I had 8 on my fire tank and noticed no difference between it and the 4 pts I had on my squishies.

i think one of the recent patches fixed the karma IO from the paragon market but i dont have one to double check

What about when you factor in the 3 mag protection you get from certain PVP IO set bonuses?
Is 3 as good as 4? Is 11 as good as 12?

To my recollection of what I have seen here, KB magnitude is generally 4 or 10(with AV's being somewhere much higher than that). If your protection meets or exceeds the magnitude you are covered. Thus, 8 it no more effective than 4. And 11 is just asa good as 12.

There is a base empowerment buff that grants +10 KB protection for an hour. Not the best solution but it can get you through the missions with extreme knockback.

Kinda strange. This character has been 50 for a while, and I never had any problems with KB until my first encounter with the IDF. They have those mobs that seem to use some of the powers from Mind Control, particularly Levitate. I'm pretty sure KU and KB are classified as the same when it comes to protection, and that Mag 4 offered by the Steadfast would have been enough. Even if KU and KB aren't the same I had never had problems with Fake Nemmys knocking me around. It was even more shocking that they could do it after adding in the Karma. The Karma was gained from ticket rolls in the AE.

I had wondered if the magnitude of the KB on the Nemesis Staff attack had changed, or if maybe there's a debuff applied that lingers a bit so successive attacks that come quick enough would overload your KB protection? No idea really, since I had faced multiple Fakes before and had no problems. I might go pick up the travel -KB IO and see if still happens.

Thanks for all the replies.

KB can technically stack if they all hit you at about the same time

i do not believe they have changed fake nemesis KB on their powers

Not sure what the magnitude of the Levitate powers of the Praetorian Mind control types is ... but on my Mind/FF controller it's over 12 (12.46) mag KU. It's also Attack type: Psionic _Attack so it will bypass positional defense as far as hitting the target. Note that FA also has no KB resistance so 12.46 with 12 pts of protection will result in one being knocked down I believe or with Levitate KU a short distance (anything under 0.75 mag turns kb into kd). I'm not entirely sure if it gets rounded down or off below a certain amount over 0.00 but I think not. Most melee armor sets with mez/kb protection also have kb resistance as well. And lastly Knockback is effected by the Purple Patch modifiers (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Purple_Patch) so if you are fighting +4 IDF in the trial prior to gaining any) level shifts (or +3 with just the Alpha shift) that may be playing into it as well.

Quite literally ... as I understand it it has to be on the same server tic.
