  1. Well a very large portion of the attacks in the game have a smashing or lethal component to them, which means it blocks many attacks.

In general 1 defense == 2 resistance, so whatever value it has, it would be like having twice that much resistance.

Also s/l defense is easy to stack up via IOs and other powers.

    10? You people are crazy.

I think I'm being risky if I craft TWO of the same thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well volume selling is rather inefficient if you only do it 2 at a time. Make sure you get something that WILL sell OFTEN.

Get two highly turned over IOs, buy 10 recipes of each. Craft 10 of the first recipe and put 5 in your base, then craft 5 of the second recipe and put them in your base, then craft the other 5 of the second recipe and go list 5 of each for sale.

Sign on the next day, or later that day and get your influence, head to your base to pick up the other 10 IOs. Go sell them and put in bids for more.

For example - numina heal IOs are always selling, so are efficacy adapters.
  3. I dont keep up to date on computer components, thus why I'd ask here

As for the motherboard switch you suggest - if the CPU speed is left the same and I get one that has 1600 FSB instead of the 1333, how much better would that be and which one would be good to get ?
  4. I'm thinking of getting a new system soon ish :
    http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saving/show.asp?id=1987074

is what I was looking at, but are there any better options for 1200 or less ?

Any new stuff coming out that would make buying now a bad idea ?
  5. fire is good and has some dot effects and great dps even without an extra critical chance attack. Plus there are always procs.
  6. Most of the APP sets that offer some kind of defense or resistance powers cover a specific set of things as well as on flavor/theme thing. One theme missing is positional defense. This concept could be ported to other AT's APP for groups that offer res/def powers.

power 1: Quickness passive: 20% rech buff, plus move buff, slow resistance

power 2: Evasive Maneuvers toggle: 12.5% defense ranged / aoe, 25% defense debuff resistance

power 3: Combat Focus passive: +5% tohit, 2.5% ranged / aoe defense, 12.5% defense debuff resistance

power 4: Analyze Weakness toggle: Your speed and agility allow you to find weaknesses in your foe's defenses. All foes within 150ft have a 15% chance for -33% resistance and -25% defense applied every 1 second. Toggle does not cause aggro.

power 5: Elude click: 45% defense to melee/ranged/aoe, +100% to all movement, 37.5% defense debuff resistance.

    The Challenge...

I've outlined one way to meet those goals. I can't post a build since my mids is somehow broken, but that is fine since I also don't need the influence.

    The Challenge...

Considering that most purple sets dont do much for endurance and defense buffs, I'd think that most builds that would come close wouldn't need to use purples at all.

Also DA has very little native defense (8% when slotted), so let's assume we get weave (8%) and combat jumping (3.9%), plus the steadfast IO(3%). You are looking at 22.9% defense.

You need 22.1% more defense, and to get that much you'll likely have to specialize in a certain type of defense.

Smashing / Lethal will do you wonders.

If you take Kick, Jab, haymaker and knockout blow and 4 slot them with kinetic combat then you wind up with 15% s/l defense bonuses.

Next you have Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud, Obsidian Shield, and Tough 4 slotted with Reactive Armor for another 5% s/l defense.

    So far you've got 5%, 15% and 22.9% defense for a total of 42.9% s/l defense.

At that point you can get the final bits of defense from any number of potential set bonuses for your PbAoE powers, pick up Maneuvers or Stealth, or get the PvP +3% def IO or even use Cloak of Fear to fill in that gap.

As for endurance issues, your toggles and attacks still have room for more slots which can be endurance reduction. You can use the +recovery uniques, the panacea and performance shifter chance for +endurance procs. You get accolades for additional endurance. You could pick up Conserve Power as well.

Due to Dark Regeneration's huge endurance cost and Rage's endurance crash, you will likely have endurance struggles no matter what you do, if you are moving at a fast pace.

Added a note to pieces of the Soulbound Allegiance IO set that will warn the player that slotting this enhancement into a pet power that summons a pet that is lower than level 50 will result in the pet not benefiting from the effects of the enhancement.

Which controller pets summon at level 50 ?
  10. I'd make Rooted and Granite's movement debuff resistible (but I would not lower them) and I'd make it possible to jump with a much reduced max jump height.

Stone Skin could also offer resistance to most other damage types (not toxic or psi) ( 5% or 7.5%).
  11. He wanted to use the purple set for 10% more global recharge, which is pretty much useless anyway since he'll have attacks ready to go all the time.

  13. I can't even send it via email from any site, I'm thinking it has something to do wit the firefox plugin NoScript, but I'm not sure what it is, any ideas ?
  14. Im not sure why, but when ever I go to post mids data, when I click continue nothing happens.

Could it be something with firefox or something new on the boards ?
  15. defense reduces a foe's chance to hit using roughly this formula :

    chance tohit = ((tohit - defense) * (1 + accuracy))

These values are clamped at 95% and 5%.

So the chance tohit of an even con minion looks like :

    CT = ((50 - defense) * (1+0)) , CT = 50%

if you have 20% defense to the attack they use it looks like:

    CT = ((50 - 20) * (1+0)) , CT = 30%

Lieutenants and higher rank / level foes get accuracy buffs ( up to +5 in level, at +6 or higher they also get tohit buffs). I'm not 100% sure of the numbers on the accuracy buffs but to illustrate I'll use the previous example but assume you are fighting a foe with 10% accuracy buff.

    CT = ((50 - 20) * (1+0.1)) , CT = (30 * 1.1), CT = 33%

Now due to clampping, the best you can do is drop the first chance tohit in the equation to 5% because (50-45) = 5% and it will not go lower. Accuracy buffs are then taken into account, meaning that any given foe can only be reduced to 10% of his original chance tohit ( if a foe has a 75% chance tohit, the lowest you can get him to go is 7.5%).
  16. the ranged attacks need to be toned down in damage, as do the rest of the attacks, minions with 300 damage attacks is a bit much.
  17. I'm sure you'll need a writing team, and I wouldn't mind potentially being a part of that team.
  18. You can't confuse my awesomeness with those two posers
  19. a good indication of what is selling well would be any item that has all of it's last 5 sales dated for the current day or maybe 1-2 days previous.

Things flow well at 5 level intervals, as well as at the level cap for given recipes (like entropic chaos at level 35 or imprevium armor at level 40, or doctored wounds at level 50).
  20. they already nerfed scrapper mez protection, they get held faster than a tank.

What would be nice is if Taunt (the power) had different additional effects for each set, OR was made inherent and another power was added to each set.
  21. I think we should try out scaling consignment fees, BUT the scale only comes into play for actual sales (listing fees would still be 5%, but sale fees would be 5-25% scaled from 10 mil to 100 mil).

This means that even 'poor' players could afford to list things for sale, but higher sales get more after sale fees.

Merits reduce the need to get IOs through the Market.

Tickets further reduce the need to get IOs through the Market.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Umm I think the reasoning here was that IOs were "too" expensive for causal players so the devs added a method to acquire them that did not involve the market.

The problem is the devs don't seem to understand how their own game's various reward systems work together and so they therefore undermined the market by REPLACING incidental supply with player filtered supply INSTEAD of adding merits and tickets in addition to the old drop systems for TFs.

The problem with the market is supply - prices get cheaper and everyone is willing to use the market when supply is up. When supply is down or merely average, prices are higher and many want to avoid the market, thus further reducing supply.

    Google Issues?

Sounds like vundo to me. Try Avast and Malware Bytes - they seem to wok pretty well when AVG fails. Spybot search and Destroy is pretty good too.
