Martial Arts - Super Reflexes?
I think 45% is the soft cap so aim for that.
If you look at the description of Hide it will give you 2 seperate numbers.. one is for Hidden status the other is not..
It is just like stealth in that regard...
How does this sound...
With Hide on 45.2% to Range/Melee and 95.8% in AoE
With Hide off 37% to Range/Melee and 38.4% in AoE
that is what I am at..
I am not done with my Defense IO sets though... It should go up another 10% for me when Im all said n done...
with no buffs on I am at
16.3 Melee
14.1 Range
2.5 AoE
What I'm trying to figure out is that "Soft cap" thing
So... if my Defense is at 45%, I'm at the cap so enemies will [basically] hit 5%.... if I had 0% Defense enemies hit 95%.. right?
So does that mean...
0% = 95% chance of hitting
11.25% = around 75% chance
22.5% = around 50%
33.75% = around 25%
45% = 5%?
that is it, the reason that it is a soft cap, is that enemies will always have a 5% chance to hit you, as well as a 5% chance to miss you disregarding all stats.
pve is at 50% to hit
5% chance to always hit
45% soft-cap
whats crazy is the way that the difference of 40% and 45% is doubling your mitigation
Another weird question I have, which is just a curious one... has anyone out there NOT taken Placate? I mean, I do know it's useful to get an enemy off your back but wondering if a Stalker can work without it... or hell, how it even works in PVP. I mean not only do I dislike it's "Jedi" animation.. but if I could free up a power...
But ya.. just curious if a Stalker can work without it... is it really that important.
Placate Scenario 1:
Malta Sapper and a Malta Gunslinger boss are the last mobs you need to defeat to complete your mission. Which do you assassin strike first?
Answer using placate: the sapper followed up with a placate/run away on the gunslinger. Then you go up and assassin strike him too!
Answer w/o placate: the Boss first. Take him down as fast as you can and hope the accuracy debuff from assassin strike plus your high defense stops the sapper from hitting.
Both are viable methods to play. Using placate gives you an extra level of mitigation when the first level (your secondary) leaves you high and dry.
Often times with a high defense build you can simply stop attacking and not get hit for 6 seconds while you re-hide too.
You can do without it, but the power you're giving it up for better be a good one!
placate has so many uses its not even funny...
placate makes an enemy forget about you for 10 seconds as long as you do not attack him.. you can placate someone then kill his friend while he stands there....
or an ambush while your fighting a Boss or EB.. placate Boss or EB then run out of line of sight and kill the ambush.. boss or eb will have completly forgotten about you...
and many others.. I would say to get it and learn it and love it..
I would skip Build up over Placate....
Heh, okay... thanks for that advice. Now.. my next question XD.
the Martial Arts power Eagle Claw... it says it has a special critical capacity... I'm wondering if it'd still give good damage if I slotted it with Absolute Amazement for Stun...
Hey it's Cyvert, here's that build I made.
It doesn't look pretty because it seems my Mids is broken and gives me bad code tags somewhere

I wouldn't recommend it. If you want to go the stun route for Eagle's Claw, I'd go with two Dam/Mez HO's, one Acc/Mez HO's, and three from the Mako set. That'll give you max Acc/Dam/Mez with close to 40% endurance and recharge reduction.
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
He wanted to use the purple set for 10% more global recharge, which is pretty much useless anyway since he'll have attacks ready to go all the time.

Without placate, you could not pull this move off unless you were defense based and just waited to rehide. But that wouldn't be as cool nor as funny.

The economy is not broken. The players are
So I got mine to 50 and need to respec him, I'm curious if anyone else picked these two powersets. I'm still thinking over how to slot, which powers are important. Also I am still a tad lost about Defense. Such as, in PVE, what Defense% is good or worthy of being "Uber"
I know Defense means you are less likely to be hit but what's a good number to aim for. 30%... 45%.. 50+? and I mean without Hide's bonuses because I think they only work while I'm "Hidden"
