Quote:Global Channels have been around since around Issue 4.Well, I think the main thing to know about is that each server now have Global Chat Channels for teaming, task forces, etc. So your best bet is to join one and ask questions as you run across unfamilair issues during gameplay.

Quote:Anyone who has spent more than 5minutes on a costume. If it doesn't look like my limb, what's the point? Think long and hard on that, because even knowing BaB as little as I do, I know that's one of the first things he'd consider and one of the first reasons he'd have for not doing it.
It won't be able to look exactly like your glove, but who cares? I
If they can't do it right, they don't like doing it.
Long story short: We voted on powersets once. Stretching/Growing was one of the top choices. They know we want it. That doesn't mean they are going to do it until they can do it in a way that looks right to them. -
I don't know for sure, but I'd recommend pohsyb, at the very least he can pass it to the person who should see it.

Quote:Ummmm that's the badge/accolade I was talking about.honestly it doesnt really matter much, some of the hero accolades badge requirements are much more annoying than the villain badges, like for one of the hero accolades you need to get the badge for killing the MI pets, which they dont even spawn below 40 so you couldnt get that solo until at least 40
-
Carnies spawn at level 21? Since when? Oh, sure IF you have a high level run a farm and do the actual killing for you, then yeah you might be right. However I never look at that as a valid way to claim you can get the badge yourself.

And you've been this section's resident negative nelly lately. Don't sweat it, someone feels the need on a regular basis (hell I was even that guy for a while).
But I've been noticing lately that you've been very quick to disagree and argue no matter what the thread.
If you're really interested in good ideas for the game, arguing over the bad ones doesn't do anything for that. Bad threads float, good threads sink, when people get too hung up on being right.
Short version: Let it go, and focus on making ideas better. -
And one of the highest requirement hero accolades (archmage) can be gotten in the mid teens for villains. Your point has no point.

Best advice I can think of is to run the Invention Tutorial, and run the AE tutorial just to refresh and learn those 2 major systems. Don't get too hung up on learning the Auction House UI, because it's going to have a revamp when Issue 17 hits in a few weeks. You will get an introduction to either Montague Castanella (hero) or Ashley McKnight (villain) and they're your path to learning about the Midnighter Club and from there Cimerora.
Welcome back. -

My thought is, you've lumped several quite common suggestions (and a couple uncommon ones) into one mass and tried to weakly tie it into a system we don't know anything about yet.
There's very little in your post that has anything to do with post50 advancement and a lot to do with revamping and expanding old or backburnered content. -
That's pretty much a meaningless distinction, depending on the conversation you're having and when. I've seen the proposal under discussion referred to both ways, even though one is technically more correct.

Quote:The problems revolve around one main issue: Two systems in two places.i honestly don't see why, and yes i did catch WW's post, the 2 different country servers can't be merged into one game. to me it would make sense. what are the major factors anyways? language barriers? they don't mean anything. you can leave the non english speaking servers for those that want to play those and also for those of us in the US that speak other languages. this way, like i said earlier, the EU's don't lose any of their vet rewards or time on game.
there has to be a way for this to happen. unless the reason is the laws that some of the EU countries have.
1) Do you physically move the servers to the US? How?
2) Do you virtually link what are now two Account and Login systems into one? How? (examine what they had to do in the forum merge with Names. Multiply a few hundred names by the thousands on both sides).
3) there are significant hurdles involved in launching a game in another country. Contracts with distributors, local laws, etc. Reversing that and at the same time going through the hurdles involved in authorizing a game to be run in another country while collecting fees from local citizens.
In the end, a merge of this type would quite likely mean the EU servers would have to go down and be inaccessible for days or even weeks while things were ironed out.
As for the OPs argument that the EUs should get this kind of perk because they somehow need it more, I don't buy that. The US is losing active members too, and in the grand scheme, probably more of them. If you define need based on percentages, the EU may win, but on raw numbers I'd wager the US is more "needy"
Even so I oppose this suggestion because I see not only the premise as flawed, but I see the idea proposed as unrealistic in the extreme. I've never ever ever seen a game company give away access to their brand new expansion at or near launch. Sure, WoW has done 10day free Lich King reactivations, but that happened quite a long time after launch.
By all means eventually let people get a taste of new stuff. No way should that happen until it's paid for itself. And a free reactivation happening that doesn't include the new areas, would be even worse. It would just annoy people to feel like they were being shafted. -

Quote:You can also get -rep for passing on accurate info from the devs themselves, because people are dumb.Forum rep means almost nothing. Don't worry about it.
+Rep can be obtained by posting insightful, polite and well-crafted posts, by having a few friends or by simply farming it.
-Rep can be obtained by trolling, by being hostile towards your fellow posters, or simply posting something that folks disagree with, although the first two methods are more common.
It's like Post Count in a way. A high Post Count means only that someone is very chatty. They like to discuss this game and post here. No more, no less. -
Just because they both come from the same source, doesn't mean they're part of the same drop pool. Purples have a much lower rate than Pool A, and as far as I know, it's a flat % unrelated to rank.

Here's the thing about adding or changing core systems that are keyed into something people pick at the start. No matter how many options you make, there is going to turn out to be a "best" and "worst" thing to pick. It's why we have powersets. A mix of awesome and less awesome powers.
If you come up with dozens of options for each, or even dozens of options that are the same as options for other origins, then it's just the same for everyone, and then you're back at Origin not meaning anything.
You'd be far far better off proposing something that people can participate in after they level up, and it provides a different experience for different origins, or different badges. Things that won't really set up a barrier based on what people pick at the start. As an example, look at Origin of Power arc. The person of your Origin gives you a different speech than he would someone not. Same thing could happen with a mix of contacts added that all gave slightly different arcs. You go to work for the Science guy, you can bring non Science people along, everyone has fun, everyone gets a badge, but your's is slightly different because of your Origin, and you had some special task only someone of your Origin could do in that mission.
That kind of thing would be a cool way to make Origins matter. Slight changes to stats? Boring. We get that kind of thing with Inventions. We presumably get something like that in the Incarnate system. It's fine, it involves choices and stats and numbers.
We need more things to enrich content though. That's what Origins can be for. -
Powerup and powerdown come as part of the cyborg pack too. as well as the robot dance.

They've said they're working on Power Pool Customization. No word on how long, but it's coming.

And I lose my main source of keeping things in one spot to die moar faster without it. I'll vote for more dead things any day. If that happens to mean a few extra Ice trollers get thrown under the bus too, so be it.

Quote:There's an official thread on this in Archetypes and powers section. Why do you think the devs are reducing the set bonus effects of Blessing Zephyr ??
Don't you think it would have been simpler to add a new set with similar less powerful bonuses and let some of the players go for that?
Personally i dont own any, I'm just trying to understand their thinking. It makes no sense
to me at all why they would lower the bonus of an existing set.
Are there any other sets getting nerfed with i17?
Why am i still at work? dammit i should be on my way home!! - ok you dont have to answer that one.
