Why do you think the devs are reducing the set bonus effects of Blessing Zephyr ??

Don't you think it would have been simpler to add a new set with similar less powerful bonuses and let some of the players go for that?

Personally i dont own any, I'm just trying to understand their thinking. It makes no sense
to me at all why they would lower the bonus of an existing set.

Are there any other sets getting nerfed with i17?

Why am i still at work? dammit i should be on my way home!! - ok you dont have to answer that one.

Um... that would pretty much neutralize the effect of nerfing something, wouldn't it? To put out something else that's nerfed and leave the original alone? That would be like, I don't know, trying to make people eat healthier by putting smaller portions on the menu, but making them cost the same as the full size food. Everyone would just keep buying the full size items.

I have not heard of any other Sets being nerfed in the near future, although of course changes always happen.

There's an official thread on this in Archetypes and powers section.

Because they perceived it as being overpowered.

No.

Because it was overpowered -- small amount of slots for a big reward. (Yes, the recipes themselves are expensive, but only because the economy makes them so.)

None that we know of, so probably not.

Okay.

I'll work around it just like every other change that's happened over the years

GDN and ED weren't enough, this minor tribulation won't do it.

Short answer: I think the change makes sense. I think the timing of the change doesn't.

Because it's over powered. Where other sets require slotting 4-6 enhancements to get defense values of 1.25 - 2.5, BotZ required only 2 slots for a bonus of 3.13 (3 slots for another 3.13 to a different vector).

Take combat jumping (or hover) for combat mobility, slot two in there. TP friend (two slots) an TP (2-3 slots) for your travel power, and right there, that's at least +9.39% ranged defense (not counting the whatever CJ/Hover gives you). That is not an insignificant amount, at the cost of 1 power pick (I usually take one travel power anyway), and maybe 2 slots.

And some powersets have a power in them that accepts universal travel, and doesn't otherwise need much slotting. After I put a full set of BotZ in Elude (for a total of 12.52 ranged), my scrapper was easily soft-capped to both ranged and melee. (also has a side effect that with this, sprint, quickness and swift, it caps my runspeed for a short while.)

EDIT: As much as my scrapper laments this change (losing 7.52 ranged defense will at least double her vulnerability to ranged atacks)... I'm really only miffed that it took them this long to see this set bonus as an outlier... it was practically visible fron space.

Sure it does:

Conspiracies are bad, mmkay?

But how else can i explain all the inconveniences that most people deal with every day that are obviously plots against me alone? Ultraviolet radiation was obviously added to the spectrum of sunlight solely for the purpose of giving me a burn if i spend the entire day standing in it. The same thing occurs with the thermal energy in bonfires. It's a (possibly Nemesis) plot!

I'm glad we're discussing this over here now, I'm sure new and interesting points will arise that we never heard before in that OTHER thread.

It's all a part of Thread Diversification (TD), coming in Issue 17.
