    lol @ "used"
  2. I don't think anything should be tied to killing Rikti Monkeys. It's too easy.

I'm happy with the badges and weapons as-is really. As others have said, there's ways to manufacture your own invasions pretty easily. Even the randomness of what zone it picks isn't as relevant now. Just make sure the character you want it on is Rogue or Vigilante before you run the LGTF.
  3. Here is one way to get a nice wad of cash in just a few days If you have Going Rogue which I will assume you do:

Since you are over level 20, you can get Tips. Start investigating those tips and doing the missions, picking the Heroic Option. This is called Reinforcing your alignment. You can do 5 tips each day for credit. Once you have completed 10 missions, you can kill a few more foes over level 20 until a Hero Morality Mission tip drops. Complete that mission.

Congratulations, you've just completed the first cycle. The first time rewards you with 50 Reward Merits. Save them for later, because once you have cash you can convert them into a Hero Merit, which is our eventual goal.

Now each time you complete a cycle as I illustrated above, you will get 1 Hero Merit. You have some options about how to use them, but there are some quick ways to get good amounts of cash:

    1) Random Rolls- 1 Hero Merit gives 5 random rolls. If you get a bit lucky some of those 5 recipes can sell for a lot of cash (even without getting them crafted). Since you're just starting out, I wouldn't recommend this route right off though, as the random roll is just that, and you can get some duds.

    2) Rare/Uncommon Set IOs- With 1 or 2 Hero Merits depending on the recipe, you can buy any IO from any set, at your level range or below. This is the more surefire way to get a good chunk of cash (in some cases 200-400 million, depending on the recipe).

Some people more in touch with the market day to day can give you some specific recommendations, but for now I'd say save up 2 Hero Merits, then buy something nice, and you will have seed money for the rest of your trip to 50.

Heck, if you contact me ingame once you've earned those first 50merits, I can mail you the cash you'd need to convert it into a Hero Merit, so you can get something in 4 days instead of 6.

I'm not saying she runs ahead of a Spectral. I'm saying the pathing decisions (picking the end point they're going to) happens instantly and has nothing to do with seeing. It all happens before the scripted command that makes the spectral fade out.

It's the same reason when you stun a "stop X from escaping" guy, he will keep moving to the point he decided to run to.

  6. They are supposed to. I've heard of recent bugs on that front (since GR) but I thought they had been fixed.

Wouldn't help. As I said above, the AI makes that kind of Pathing decision based on knowing the end point of where the foe is going to run to, not normal PER rules. The Spectral decides where it's going to run to, and Lady Jane decides where she's going to chase to, before it goes invisible.
  8. A) I wasn't even referring to your overuse of your caps lock. I referring to the tone of the word usements you structured into sentencelike things.

    B) Still the wrong section, don't really care how you try to justify it. Need I even mention that your style leaves a lot to be desired in the clarity department? Between mashed idioms, poor spelling, and typos you're lucky we don't think you translated through babelfish.

    C) This is an open forum. Anyone can play in the sandbox. You don't get to say who can/can't reply, especially in such a crappy way as you have. You can't limit the subset of people answering to just people who already have 3D and play this game. That number is quite likely less than 100 or so people. You're talking about support for a new technology. If the dev team has to do stuff for that (based on the above replies I'm not convinced they do), that means development time, which comes out of everyone's fees. There's got to be good reasons for adding new tech to the game, and hearing the vocal cries of a small minority isn't going to give that to the dev team.

Besides, the last time they jumped on a new graphics tech AGEIA PhysX they did it very early in the product cycle when very few people had the cards or drivers to support it. Because of slow updates from them, and the fact that they were bought out and the tech eventually became part of a lot of graphics cards anyway, it's generally been considered that a hash was made of the whole project.

3D systems for games are in about the same state. It's going to be far better if the team doesn't repeat past mistakes and try to jump on a bandwagon early.
  9. A) the only person exhibiting emotion here is you. You're the only one nerd raging.

    B) you posted in Player Questions. Don't get on people's cases for thinking you were asking something. And don't get pissy when people misunderstood you because you posted in some kind of silly RP-speak.

    C) Petitioning and lobbying isn't allowed by the forum rules. Post your clearly stated suggestion in Suggestions and Ideas and have a civil discussion about it with anyone who replies, even (and especially) if they disagree.

Someone sent it to me and I'm forever grateful. I've broken it out for 3-4 threads so far.

Most of the great lemur pics I've used over the years were sent by other forumites. Like I said, forever grateful.

It's a temp power, it takes no Inpiration slots. In its original version it was an inspire, but they got rid of that.

It works fine right now as what I see as a temporary patch, but by making the Dayjob power work the way I described makes more sense(At least to me).
Making the Day Job power work as you described, leaves someone in one of the "gray" alignments stuck on the other side even if they have a bunch of charges on their power. Not literally stuck, but part of the advantage of being Rogue or Vigi is the ability to go back home for stuff.

Is it a pain getting around the other side at first? yeah, but you can do a few easy things to smooth it out (like working on the BM day job) and the problem is quickly solved for the most part.

I'd rather put in a little extra work to have added flexibility later, than be hobbled later for some added convenience now.

Now I know what you're thinking, the markets are merged, blah blah blah. I'm aware of this. BUT, in you started off as a hero, and got the Marketeer dayjob power, which lets you teleport to any Wentworth's, and then you switch sides, turning Vigilante, and then Villain and/or Rogue, as a Villain or Rogue this power is completely useless! Even if you're Rogue, you can't use the power to TP to Paragon if you're in the Isles. Yet, if you park the Vil/Rogue next to the black market, you can still charge up the power.

So It should be made to allow you to TP to any market that resides on the current side you're on. Example would be, with the hero turned Vil/Rogue, when they're redside, the dayjob power ports you to the black markets, and if you go blueside without having changed morality, it takes you to WW.
Spending a bit of time at the opposite side market will start charging up the power for that side's market. Not to mention that at any point you can still buy the 1 charge market TP on either side.

I really don't see a huge need to nuke the two existing powers and replace them with a new one.
  16. Definitely with goat on this one, whether or not they buy out the Mids' app (which I think they should to be fair to the people who put in all the time on it) or make their own version, I think it would be a boon to all players to have a 2 way street into and out of the game's respec system. Clearly a loaded spec from file wouldn't magically create enhancers, but it could auto spec powers and slots based on the file, and then possibly slot enhancers by matching process (anything you have in inventory that matches the file gets used).
  17. Yeah, I admire their attempts to make some more interesting missions in those RWZ arcs, and they did do at least two debugging passes that I remember, but on the whole there are still some real stinkers in there, the one you mentioned being one of them. It's a shame because the storyline itself is great. The mechanics need hard looking at though.

under your User Control Panel (User CP above) you can set preferences to use an advanced editor. From there there are buttons for posting links etc. However in the case of mid's, which isn't a file server, you would use the option in Mids to create a forum export and then copy that into a post.

As I said above, there are plenty of set bonuses that would make you a better MM, not just Fluffy a better pet.
  20. I can't remember specifically if Castle ever addressed the "why" but here's a pretty solid guess on my part:

Fluffy already takes quite a few different types of mezz and debuff sets. The recharge intensive pet sets were made for pet powers that needed recharge, but didn't have access to many other sets. Additionally, RI Pet sets have damage, and Fluffy is meant to be added control/debuff not a big damage dealer.

As for your second question, what's the best way to slot him, that really depends on what you're looking for. Any IO set bonuses he gets apply to you, and the fact that he's open to 5 or 6 diff types of set already gives you a lot of options.

If your heart was set on making him deal damage, you can even sneak some in through the back door, so to speak. A lot of those sets have damage procs, and you could slot one or several into Fluffy. However my understanding is, the proc will only have a chance to fire when he uses a power that takes that kind of set (in other words a Hold dmg proc will only fire when he uses his Hold, not on every one of his powers).

    Hi everyone!

This thread is so cute. I love you guys.
  22. The toughness or annoyingness of this mission has nothing to do with how hard the CoT are at a given level, or how weak Lady Jane is. Has everything to do with the fact that at the level ranges people most commonly do this, there are tons of Spectrals, and when spectrals are near death, the AI is coded to make them invisible and fly off.

Problem is, NPC AI cheats when it comes to perception. That's how things can teleport around walls. So here's the approximate sequence of events:

    Lady J fights a spectral
Spectral AI gets low on HP decides to run 100yds (or whatever)
Lady J AI "sees" that it's going to run (is given its destination coords) and decides to pursue.
Spectral flies off and fades from view.
Lady J runs off to that location.
Lady J aggros 3 other groups on her way and dies.
Groups come charging after you, and you die.
If you're lucky the mission fails before that last one.

I'm all in favor of making Lady J cooler. But it doesn't solve the fundamental problem.

Change the Spectral AI so it doesn't run OR
Change Lady J's AI so she doesn't pursue OR
Change the spawn rules so there are very few spectrals OR
    Change the foe group entirely.

Do any of these things to make this mission non Fail-Bait* and any upgrade for Lady Jane's powers and abilities would be much better received.

    * Yup I know there are tactical and/or teammate choices you can make to counter this. I'm just pointing out a definite flaw in the AI/Mission design that ought to be fixed so this doesn't have to be countered.

No, you can't have my stuff. It's still MY stuff. :-)
I thought you stayed subscribed so that you could sit around and be disappointed by how long it was taking to get the next new thing, and then disappointed in said thing once it got here.

To be perfectly frank, I'm not sad to see you go. Your doomcrying totted up to look "researched" made you a persistent negative nancy, and didn't do a damn thing to help the game or the community.
  24. I come up with characters when just a name comes to me.

I come up with characters when there's a powerset combo I want.

I come up with characters when there's a costume idea I have.

Usually I reserve making the character until 2 out of 3 of the above come to me at once, but when something particularly good (to me) comes along, I go right ahead and make it.
  25. Also to note, a lot of what is/isn't acceptable has to do with the people you're addressing. It's far easier to ask before you cut loose, than it is to walk something back or hide behind "the rules" after you've bugged someone.

Even playing on an RP server or in an RP group doesn't count as a free pass where people have to be prepared for anything. When dealing with people you know in a familiar situation, go with what's normally acceptable. When dealing with new people in an RP situation an OOC question or a friendly tell will let you know what they're comfortable with.

Just remember RPing like a foul mouthed pervert isn't a good way to let your inner foul mouthed pervert have free reign. Know when to stop, is what I'm saying. If someone contacts you OOC about it, adjust your mood, step out of character, and make it clear it's the act, and not you.

And lastly, if someone politely let's you know what you're doing is bothering them, that's your Stop Sign. Dial it back or take your leave. If it's someone you come across in a regularly recurring situation and they are an odd man out from the normal crowd, politely let them know how to put you on ignore.
