  1. I got mine and applied it to my play nc account. Got the perk so thanks coh!!!

Sorry for not reading the whole thread, but the tweets never stated, what did I win?
  2. Well funny story when running my defender trapper. During a synapse when you have the option of fighting Babage. He ran like he was on fire. He super jumped all over Skyway. I mean ALL OVER. Up those crazy 500 ft walls. Giant robot catwalking across 1000ft high telephone wires, balancing beaming his way as fast as he can on the tram line.

Took forever and web grenade won't immobilize or slow him, and the tank did not have taunt (which overrides the run like a headless cheetah behavior). Good times!
  3. For AV's use web grenade. If you have any global recharge just stick an ACC io in it.

Or try what the masterminds do and use provoke.
  4. If you have access to enhancment boosters you can +5 and +3 only 2 of the end red Io's in EF to maximize end reduction saving a slot.

You could then move that slot to a defense power giving access to a kismet.

If you then +5 every IO in tactics that has a To-hit bonus you end up at 22.0 to-hit.

If that still to close for your comfort you can remove the build up proc and add a level 50 to-hit buff io to tactics moving welll into ED and putting you 22.3

That would allow you to either keep FA as a set mule and insurance against Tohit debebuff cascade (trademarked by me as of now ), pick lancer shot giving you a high damage mag 3 stun to chain your single target, or pick up EM pulse for an emergency button.
  5. You shouldn't have to join twitter. Just click the link on the front page and hit F5 every 5 minutes. Also check NCSOFT accounts to see if the mainteance is over, if so then log in. They won't release the codes until you can since that's were you redeem the codes at.

This is how these contests work every where. The 1st 10 callers win...

Farsight on corrupters, and defenders, stacked with tactics(minimally slotted), and later with just powerboosted farsight (which they will be doing everytime they cast it anyway), should achieve the same for those archtypes. Same for world of pain, if you can make it perma.

ok I was wrong there. Only scrapper clobber and follow through are very close without damage buffs. Also some assassin strike powers. That is the exception across blaster tier 3 powers however.

this really got me thinking about it.

How is ST supposed to be balanced other than fire is supposed to do more damage? See the corrupter thread, "is there a point to anything but fire".

    We have
60% chance for KB in Power burst at 59.1 DPA
100% mag 3 stun in cosmic burst at 59.1 DPA

    While
60% chance of knock back in Psycic blast is 103.2 DPA
-20% slow -7% to hit in BIB at 108.
and Blaze at 159 DPA if all ticks go. (so at average slightly less)

Also whatever is going on in Beam Rifle. lancer shot is 75.36 DPA with Disintegration going while also providing a mag 3 stun.

What should blaster DPS at range be in the first place? Is it supposed be as broad a range as it is across the power sets?

    Side note I just noticed.
Why does Dominator Gloom have a DPA of 70.4 while blaster gloom has a DPA of 59.58?

    This is from Mids btw.
  8. Group: You are DPS for the team. If you want more than that see Corrupters, Controllers, Defenders and Dominators.

Solo: You should solo at a reasonable pace at x3. It shouldn't take forever. You shouldn't jump to x5 without IO's or Epics. With Inspirations you should be able to take on an elite boss easily.

I think if anything Willpower showed that the health of your character is a metaphor. It doesn't mean that the tough guy regenerates wounds unbelievably fast. It represents that the hero fights no matter what. it is called rise to the challenge. The healing represents him overcoming the odds. It is heroic.

Why don't the secondaries have self heals? /psi is the only one that has something close.

/fire could have a flash heal. Healing flames shouldn't be out of the question. It could represent the melting of bullets, immunity to heat, etc. Blaster HP's are worse than Scrappers and you won't be able to stack it with anything but the fighting pool until 35. Your still squishy. 0x5 could still flatten you. The Epics would let you add a resist or def toggle. But you would be able to use endurance for survivability in a useful quick non intrusive way (I ignore redraw here).

Every secondary and can use that metaphor. It is the reason why the power Drain psyche exist in the 1st place.

It doesn't stop you from blasting. It means you can do the exact same thing an empath can do while solo and grouped. It means your still less survivable than stalkers. They get resist, defense and heal/s. You get damage from range while solo. Blapper's could recover between groups and in combat with them.

It stacks with active controls some sets have.

All of the secondaries could work in a similar way. Healing is a metaphor for your power averting the damage or defying the damage.

The argument that on IO's it is over powered is a ridiculous argument. Soldiers are meh on SO's. They burn so much endurance you want to use rest every group. IO's make them overpowered in a God Slayer way. Same for scrappers, stalkers, and brutes, Doms, controllers, Kheldians, and tanks. A soft capped blaster with an in combat heal is not as overpowered as a softcapped Dark Armour anything, or perma eclipse/phantom army/heatloss with soft cap.

Additionally why does rest still have a cool down? What game purpose does that serve? It still has a long animation before it even starts, and has a cool down? It is suicidal to use during combat. It would help all archetypes at every level. It is a banal speed bump to game play for soloing only. In a group every gets access to things that make resting less needed. It is a bad game incentive to not solo.

Also why are the tier 3 ST blasts so bad DPA? Even blaze is worse than a lot of melee attacks. Is activation time balanced in anyway with the end/dam/rech formula. Why are the blasts so varied across all the blasts sets? Is there even a standard for ST DPS that blasters were supposed to do compared to other archetypes?

    And on nukes
  9. Rad/sonic what else? Dark/Dark also maybe. Rad Infection is -48.75 to hit on SO's alone and you can get it at level 1. Rad also helps with endurance with AM. Even if it wont be perma on SO's it is up may 2/3rd of the time on So's with hasten. You also get a bunch of slots to play with. You also get the wonderful solo tool that is Sirens song.

For teaming Forcefield on SO's alone will softcap a team if the defender takes and slots maneuvers.

Fulcrum shift is up every 35ish seconds on SO's.

I also love that they fixed those timed individual buffs. Speedboost and ID every 2 minutes on every team member or the shield buffs every 4 minutes on every team member was horribly boring/tedious.

If you bought time manip. Times juncture and Farsight coupled with Temporal mending is very survivable on SO's. Especially if you add in Maneuvers and Hover slotted. Cronoshift (the recharge at least) and Hasten are so close to perma together that it will make you want to IO it however.

Really all of the sets are well balanced at SO's. It is IO's that make things like Cold Dom so powerful. Traps,Empathy, and Storm want
the extra recharge, recovery, and defense that IO's brings. IO's just make these do more, keep them sustainable, and alive. On So's you can get out maybe 3 Fortitude's at the same time though.

Cold Dom is meh on SO's. Perma Heat Loss and Benumb with stacked sleet's are where it gains it's at! I hate -def powers that require an ACC check. Especially without Global accuracy bonuses.

As far as secondaries go Sonic all the way. Fire might be top ST now but nothing beats Sirens song for what it does and sonic does very good damage on defenders. Ice is nice for the rains. There are people that love defender psychic blast. I haven't done it but 100 range on attack can be interesting.

Sonic Disp is an insane endurance hog but since you cant slot it with anything but SO's anyway...

Frankly, I don't see why some of Darks toggles are so End intensive. Given how situational Cloak of Darkness is, why does it cost .52 base? And Cloak of Fear, with fear being pretty much useless except when solo (and even then it chops off your AoE potential)

The set really could use some examining and love, imo.

COD cost .26 base slightly more than the armor themselves. Are you thinking Cloak of Fear? That is a .52 base offering a Mag 2 terrorize and a to hit debuff. Even with standard accuracy that one is a bit high. Although with high -end slotting you can get it down to .24ish.

I disagree about the fear being useless however. It's not a sleep where they just wake up after taking damage. It definitely limits the amount of attacks minions will make on you. It is not an efficient power without IO's though.

You are correct about the knock back however if your stuck on SO's

    Claws:
Does Form of soul add the end discount globally or add enhancement value to each individual power

Also if you move the miracles from PP to health it should provide you with more regeneration and the proc can be used as low as level 20. No need to wait until PP if you need it while leveling.

I could still play this game if I couldn't play blasters. I'd lose Secular Energy, but I don't play him terribly often right now anyway.

But turning all tanks into brutes? That would destroy any interest I had in playing them.

Technically this is a forum game of, if you were a dev, what would you do to make all the users Hulk Smash Mad. He has a clearly winning post if it it infuriates you
  13. Teleport is the fastest travel by far in a straight line with the slightest of range boosting in it. Ok maybe afterburner makes it not by far now. I have a +range/-end Io in it and can barely make out whats at the end of the cursor. Rotating the camera more than your screen width slows it down some. Stupid non square war walls

The endurance is ok now. I mean reducing is nice for an SO only build with just the default slot I guess. On Io's its only possibly prohibitive in the shadow shard. I don't use toggles however.

The animation (and I use the warshade version) is what really gets me. Unless your randomly clicking in front of you (with a bind like shift+lclick) I find my self falling while doing the animation. you port to where you clicked however. Even if you hit the ground.

Which bring me to the second most annoying bug in the game (the first is Mastermind henchmen who just don't do anything). When you teleporting to a mission while on a team and some recall friends you.
You can be across the zone hitting your bind to get to the mission, then get recall friend'ed to the mission door, and then you will port all the way back to where you last clicked your bind. You know since you were porting there while traveling on the other side of the zone. You need to hit the ground and ask for the recall again. If it was ATT well you might as well continue traveling.

Doesn't happen to often but annoys me to no end.

I always wanted to be able to have the ability to click on the mini map and teleport there. It can take the endurance of a straight line travel but use maybe 1 LRT/Shadow slip animation. Useable only outdoors not in missions.

I love LRT/shadow slip though. I know unified trains minimize it. Additionally why aren't the hazards zones on the list of destinations? If you can build a base teleporter there I should be able to get there using shadow slip.
  14. Ok changed it German myself. The link in USER CP tab you need is "Einstellungen ändern" Scroll to the very bottom and check what language is selected.
  15. Try the "User CP" tab. Edit Options is in the 3rd list on the left, It is the second from last link on that list. The very last option should be default language. It may be on default. If it is on default you probably have an issue with your browser or computer. You can also change it to English (US) or French to get by however. If it's on German just change it back to default or English.
  16. Just imagine how much that would cost in cg bills. It would be awesome though

And for those that just want to know who is stronger, ala who faster superman or flash , you can netflix this.

    It looks silly though.

I can't wait for the movie though.

Well it was kind of done before alpha even existed. That's why no one is really surprised. Congratulations are due, however note that even back then everyone knew it was dp that was doing the psuedo-dps, and mitigation, heavy lifting there.

  18. I only had Sunday off, But I got my Dark/Dark controller from 21 to 42!
  19. The easy reply is get some IO's that improve your defense and make sure Time Juncture is slotted for max -to hit.

You can get power build up and hit it right before you hit Farsight. That will give you a 31.8 defense as a base to start from. TJ debuffs -23.4; This is with max def and -to hit respectively. If the mez misses you don't get mezzed.

If you IO some defense into your powers, slot up Maneuvers, and pick up CJ you should rarely get mezzed as you can easily hit the softcap using the pbu trick. This will be important as -to hit debuffs can, and will, be resisted.

    Make some Break frees

Once you hit 50 get your incarnate stuff going and get clarion destiny.
  20. First question did you set up any macros? If not get the tray/form and tp macros for dwarf/human forms pronto. They make everything very much easier. Keep the powers you want to see the recharge on in a bar that isn't changing, like eclipse, hasten, mire.

Gravitic Emanation makes soloing very easy for you. Dwarf form is durable prior to eclipse but slotted dwarf mire that way will be spamming 15 endurance every 10 seconds. Be mindful, if your in a position to be spamming it your usually fighting something you don't want to drop out of the dwarf form for Stygian circle. That changes after eclipse but there is a road before that wonderful power is slotted and perma.

I recommend (I know this is a SO only build) doing the tips when you can for a knock back IO to put in absorption. Getting knocked back or down will put a kink in the combos you will be running later(like eclipse>mire>dwarf>mire attack).

    Have Fun!

    Solo Friendly

Just in to say a WS can have perma Eclipse and perma Hasten easily/economically without 1 purple set. Also Quantums are lol after level 22 or so.

WS typically only have issues with sappers and AV's while solo. Lot's of toons have that problem.

Edit:btw, The best solo character for you is the one that gets on your nerves the least while solo.
  22. I once got on a pick up team with an Invulnerability that did not take Unyielding. We were in the mid 20's. He would die every alpha and eventually just stopped taking the alpha.

Meaning the AOE's from all those +4 council grenades would land where ever he was standing regardless if he aggroed the enemy or not, since it was a team of defeders/blasters. Killing any non scrapper standing next to him. Talk about frustrating

While I think Ice is a good set I have to agree with your reasons for it not being great at lower levels. Before sleet your basically getting ally shields, a meh slow toggle, a non autohit single target defense debuff/slow slow. Outside IO's or exemping below your recharge sets benumb and heatloss have longish recharges. They are not perma outside high recharge bonuses. Also everything has a hit check and Benumb could just miss

Traps is as hax as it's proponents say it is. Stacking PGT is almost pointless since one is already that good. Acid Mortar debuffs on the other hand stacks with each acid mortar you have out. It is stack-able before IO's. That's makes it over 50-ish resistance debuff with stacked acid mortor. It's also an AOE which takes an Achilles proc. With seeker drones, it also has that -dam/-resistance stacking bug that Dark Miasma and Trick arrow can do. And once you have the ability to start stacking Triage Beacon you become as tough as a regen scrapper sans IH with high defense.

You get all that and the FF Gen by level 18 on a defender. It is so nice.
  24. Do you open with Seeker drones? Run in as soon as the mob sees them there should be enough time to PGT and the FF gen should be on you by then or you have a second to re summon it. You only need to be in it's field who cares if it's stuck behind you a little bit.

Your on the right track Get that kb io because getting hit with knock back right before you hit eclipse is bad news indeed. Make your macros all work and then work on making eclipse perma. Then you can purple it up all the time!
