Aaahhh! My Warshade became fun!! What do I do?! What do I do?!

I originally planned to use double XP just to get my Warshade past 38 so I could finally see what Eclipse was like. (I built both my WS and PB in 2005 after I got my first 50. The PB was so much fun to me that I hit 50 on him within a few months. My WS stayed at 12 for probably 3 years. Then I got him to 32 so I could try the pets ... then he stayed at 35 for about two more 'cause I just had no fun on him AT ALL.)

So I wound up getting him past 41-- had to slot up Eclipse after all-- and wow!

Ran an ITF on him Saturday night with an EXCELLENT PUG ... completed ITF in 1:22 hours.

Now I am going to have to respec him, maybe buy him a KB protection IO or two, and in general see about playing the heck out of him. (Now I want to run a Statesman on him.)

Oh, and beat up Requiem in Unai's arc cause that's part of his background story ...

Oh what to do with him next? What to do with him next?

Shamelessly advertise everywhere you go, offering to show people what a modestly slotted Warshade is capable of.

Form teams, build mission groups and pound the pacement proving you're a capable Kheldian.

And/or, my personal favorite. Do everything. Do the TF's nobody does, or rarely tries like the 'Shard TF's. Hit all the story arcs via Oro or Contact. Collect your Accolades. Y'know, the ones that actually 'do' something.

Complete a Trial or two. I hear the Abandoned Sewers need some serious work.

If you like the character, just play the game. IF you are having fun, you are going it right.

I started a Peacebringer and Warshade when Issue 3 went live in the game. I feel early in love with my Peacebringer. She quickly became my main. I reached level 50 in no time. When I starting doing and leading Hamidon raids, I ran a LOT of them. So I devoted weeks towards mini-max my build using 40+ Hamidon enhancers. And then again when Inventions came out (Shaving 10, 12 and 10 slots again with my first, second and Incarnate rebuilds Shaving that many slots off a build is no mean feat.)

I played my Warshade on and off over the weeks and months to follow. Slowly leveling up and getting frustrated and shelving him again.. Warshades when they first came out where pitifully weak and end hungry monsters. With the Issue 4 changes (End Cost tweaking, Stygian Circle becoming the awesomeness that it now is, and Eclipe becoming out God Mode). he become a bit fun again for a time. But still only played him in spits and spurts. When I finally got him up to level 41 or so and got the PBAoE stun and damage auras, he finally became FUN. So much so that I decided that I wanted to Purple him out. Wasn't close to perma-Hasten and Eclipse but here was fun to play. And with the inherent Fitness, I was able to drop Hasten in to the build and I'm very near perma-Eclipse

I don't play him as much as I would like because of Altitis and a lot or other level 50s to start "leveling" again. So much to do and so little time...

Another thing you could do is join Dech's weekly Purple Pride Parade after you meet up with Ronald and the Hamburgler for lunch.

(This message has been brought to you by the Bitter Peacbringer League and is not an attack on any posters here cept maybe dechs for being way more awesome than me.)

P.S. Dark armor still sucks.

I've been playing my Warshade a LOT recently. The idea of having Inherent Fitness functioning in forms intrigued me, so I picked Starless Knight back up. It's been a ton of fun. I keep getting comments on him from my SG mates, but tonight I got the ultimate compliment: I logged into my SG's vent to hear two of my friends discussing the baby Warshades they had just created.

To the OP: if you haven't read Dechs's guide on Warshades, do so. It's quite good and filled with excellent advice. Conveniently, he's posted in this thread and has a link to his guide in his sig.

Oh and if you haven't tried this yet, do the following: with Eclipse running, charge into a large spawn, hit Sunless Mire, go Dwarf, then Dwarf Mire. Finish off the nearest minion (should only take one hit from a double-mired dwarf) then go human again and trigger Unchain Essence off him. I promise you'll giggle at the result. And any Brutes running with you at the time will probably need therapy.

Dech's MFing Warshade Guide really helped with my 'Shade. He'd been sitting in the wings for three years and, upon reading the guide, EXPLODED INTO AMAZING.

Everything Dechs says is spot-on. I found myself on teams with the Tanker marveling at my ability to handle and decimate entire crowds. The healer was baffled by my ability to go from 50 health and 5 endurance to full after wasting a full spawn. The ranged damage was sick of my two Fluffies firing out more volleys than an infuriated missile platform, and the controllers were in love with Inky Aspect as it allowed them first-strike Containment damage.

Hell, the Scrapper was telling me to slow down!

Did I? HELL NO!

I couldn't see past the purple tendrils, I couldn't hear anything but screams, I couldn't feel anything but the life of my enemies being pumped like steroids into my unstoppable veins!

... And when I snapped to reality, the mission was complete and the team was staring at me in horror and awe.

Your on the right track Get that kb io because getting hit with knock back right before you hit eclipse is bad news indeed. Make your macros all work and then work on making eclipse perma. Then you can purple it up all the time!
