Doesn't kinetic melee BU apply a damage debuff to your enemy? Maybe thats why it takes longer? Also, Im not a high enough level yet on live to have either BU or AS, but Im wondering if the BU unhides you, so you may not want to use it before AS anyway. That's gonna suck versus bosses and higher if that were true though.

I have a 50 AR/Dev and a 50 AR/EM. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
I personally think the AR/Dev is more fun. The AR/EM is really just Boost Range + Build UP + AR Cones, collect farm goodies ad naseum. If he gets more than 3 foes punching him in the face he's in trouble. But he fit the bill for a farm toon when I was going for the WW Badges, so I followed thru with him all the way to the portable invention table. Now he just sits. -

I preordered and enjoyed DP and DS for months prior to others who waited. What's that worth?
GR is here now, and I can enter Pratoria and play in the new zones, explore new maps, fight new enemies.
In a couple months I can get the collection, for 6.99, and have something new again to play with.
I think my way is best for me. And I still paid less than 39.99. Spread out the fun and savor it.
Sorry you're upset, OP. I don't share your pain. I have nothing to gain here by taking the fanboi route, I just don't see a problem. -
Quote:From what I remember from non-GR missions (and it might be mission specific so worthless advice) if you move far enough away from the trigger point, and manage not to run into them along the way the Spawns should reach the trigger point and stop. At that point they go back to default AI and shouldn't see you if you then decide to approach in order do away with them (but doing so might trigger the next).
This is from recent experiences with Vivacious Verandi arcs in St Martial on my steathly Night Widow.
This is what I remember also, but Im not sure if anything has been changed with this new release. Also, I seem to remember the trigger point is the point you are standing at when the ambush text appears. So if you and your kidnapee move far enough away, around a corner, out of Line of sight, the ambush will not find you. Also remember some ambushes are triggered based on % Health of the EB/AV, and some spawn a set number of times after an event occurs (then the mission text will change) if you don't kill that 1st ambush completely, and you are able to sneak away with your kidnapee you can complete the mission without the other spawns appearing. Sometimes the mission will end, sometimes you have to go back, but at least you can do it in a hidden state, knowing whats coming, and handle the situation without worrying about anything else. -
Happening here also.
Vista. and IE version 8.0.6001.18943
I use Firefox also, but not for this message board. My IE is set to 2 home pages at startup, this one and my Facebook. Facebook doesn't log me out. -
My long time DM/DA stalker always used OG by just toggle management. This change is going to make it stupid easy. But some people couldnt figure it out, so ...there you go. Now I look for cries that OG needs nerfed, it wont be long. Its that good. Im glad I got all the purples I need for it now. Let the bidding wars begin.

Quote:Well, if its limited to 5 on a blaster, I think that might hurt me and my style of play, but I really have to wait and see. Im used to planting myself inside a big group while invisible and releasing PBAoE carnage from that advantageous position.Yes it does still break from immobilize. The change looks nice, but it's limited to 5 targets. I don't really understand why so few targets as it's not in line with most of the other AoE powers. Sometime I feel like the devs have become reluctant to give us too many AoE options (because they could improve farming ?).
Has burn switched from being a pet that you set at your feet to a true PBAoE? I wonder if Ignite will receive the same modification? (I hope not, at least initially) -
When it comes time to start a new character, after you've got your feet wet again, realize that you can now email stuff to yourself at your global name. So you can even start over on new servers and send yourself starter cash, or a rare IO or both. You're not glued to one server anymore, even as a start.

I think I fixed it. I am using macro power icons in a seperate tray for my pet commands. I just deleted them and remade them and it seems to have done the trick.
-
But I am lvl 26 Demon/Dark I have no other pets, unless its thinking Tar Patch is a pet. But it never shows in the pet window either.
Lets say I have all my pets on attack. Then when I click all pets-Defensive, they all go Defensive except Demon Prince, he still wants to be attack mode, icon stays red, All pets icon goes to exclamation point. So then I have to go to Demon Prince, click Defensive for him, then All pets icon goes defensive. -
Whats the max # targets new burn will hit now?
Does it still break you free of immobilizes? -
How come when I click on defensive mode, for All pets, it gives me a yellow exclamation point circled in red? For some reason it does not want to put my Demon Prince in Defensive Mode for Bodyguard sharing unless I tell each indivdual pet what agression to be in. Is there an option setting I am missing or that got changed somehow? It should be easier to get into BG mode than this. Ideally I want to be in BG mode, absorb the alpha then attack. But it is silly having to command the pets seperately.
When I click attack mode, all pets, it works. But not for defensive. Im befuddled. Please help. -
I have a Demon/Dark that I pursued this with, but only after I had gotten to about lvl 23-24, then I made a secondary build, using all 3 whip attacks, in exchange, I did not summon the minions, only the lieutenants and now the Demon Prince. Its a fine soloing build. I however think if I would have tried it from level one that way I would have given up due to pitiful damage. Even slotted for max damage those whip attacks are not impressive. I still have my main build, that I have no whip attacks on, that I team with. But I solo with the secondary build and I think it is also fun.

I second the Rad/MM suggestion. Lots of extra oomph that you are looking for. Even Laser Beam Eyes feels powerful with 6 slotted Thunderstrikes
-
I believe I did this exact thing on my AR/Dev many years ago when he was first leveled up. That was before there was a wiki to explain what powers detoggle other powers and such. So I dint have Ninja run and i had to deal with the movement penalty, but it was still fun to sneak.

I would suggest deleting your avatar and your sig, then turn on silent mode, delete all your subscribed threads, then dont come back here. There is no way to delete your past contributions though, they belong to the universe.

Sometimes I TP Foe things to places I shouldn't. Like inside AE or a store. I dont do it to grief anyone, Ill kill it first, before it attacks anything, another player. Theres a benefit to adding range right there
Sometimes I go into the RWZ with my Empath and try to keep the Vanguard from dying against the Rikti.
Sometimes I just play with the character creator to see what kind of oddball combo I can come up with. -
Steel Canyon Arson - I just want to suggest that you create an Ice blaster that flies to do this. Its so much easier to just use your ice attacks, then to have to run back to the fire chief all the time for an extinguisher.
Supa Trolls - Killing Supas should be a part of everyones experience, at least once. They are found in Skyway, lvl 15 I believe. If you find any Calibans or Ogres, take them down too. But be careful, they are Boss level. Supas are lieutenants. Start killing them at lvl 12, when youve just added your lvl 15 DO enhancers. Take a friend, it is safer, but mad XPees can be had for you both. If you've already outleveled Supas, you can always go to the ice crystal, pick an arc that auto exemplars you to level 15, then dont do the arc, just run to Skyway and kill Supas. -
Quote:LR needs accuracy to land. Are you sure you're not missing your target? So there I was, happily levelling my Fire/Rad corr when with gleeful... glee, when I thought wouldn't it be awesome if I slotted LR for maximum slow debuff, thereby trapping my enemies in a hellstorm of fire much like my fancypants Fire/Dark cousins.
...Except the enemies weren't brought all the way down to the -speed cap, in fact they weren't being slowed down at all. I ended up using the Analyzer temp power to check the enemies' stats and sure enough, LR was dropping their flight and jump speed, but not run speed despite indicating that it should do so in its info tab.
What gives? :/
My very old rad/rad has LR 6 slotted with 2 ACC, 3 Rechred, and One slow. That was always sufficient. And I could keep LR perma on AVs and GMs for the other debuffs that it includes, which arent enhanceable anyway, which are the real reason to take and use LR. But like I say, it has to land, or else its wasted endurance. -
Quote:Just confirmed this myself, it still does nothing. As of the last time I checked, you're correct. End Mod enhancement does nothing for Unstoppable. It's a bug. I think it's been like that since release, but I confirmed it back in the beginning of 2008.
[edit: To be clear, the error is that the recovery buff is unenhanceable, not that you can slot for it.] -

I have one character that I utilize the second build for exemplaring, and that is my main tank, Phrendon Largo, on Victory. As a macer, his primary build is geared towards 6 slotting the sweet AoE attack Whirling Mace, Crowd Control and Shatter(cones) and Clobber and Jawbreaker. His secondary build has all the low lvl ST attacks six slotted. I also had fun by taking Earth Mastery-salt crystals. Sometimes I just runaround Peregrine with no toggles, Sleep a group of Nemesis or Malta, and beat them silly with ST attacks.
I do use secondary builds alot, but just to try out different things. I dont need to use the test server, I just test with the secondary build. I have a Demon Summoner MM that I tried out all 3 whip attacks and decided to forego summoning minions, and just went with the lieuts. Its not a bad way to solo a MM to be honest. -
Quote:This is why my AR/Dev doesn't use TD.You may actually be better off skipping TD and slotting sets that give global bonuses to accuracy and the kismet unique since these sets have built in accuracy in the enhancements and the global bonuses are not lost while mezzed.
It has always been my philosophy to ensure accuracy of your powers so that some secondary benefit doesnt get disrupted and you become unable to hit. Make it so the bad guys can't weaken you. Slot the powers. Forget TD even exists.
