I keep getting logged out of the forums, please help me...

I thought I had this problem solved earlier today, but at random times, even when I have it so I can't get logged out, the forums seem to log me out on there own and it's getting very annoying.

When this first started happening earlier today, every time I logged onto the forums, it wouldn't even work. It just made me re-enter it again and it never worked.

I even restarted my computer and it worked for a while after I went to a new tab but it just started happening again, any ideas?

What OS?
What Browser (including version)?
What add-ins (if any)?

Very hard to offer suggestions or troubleshoot with no information.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

This has happened to me on and off for years but it's gotten really frequent lately. Today the forums forgot that I was logged in 3 times in a one hour period. Gets old fast when it happens while in mid-post and of course in the process of logging back in the post has been lost.

I've taken a look through the cookies that the forums use and can't spot anything obvious. Most of them are set to end when the session ends (ie when you close the browser) while the two login cookies have an expiration date set for a year from now.

Yeah, it happened to me a few times today. I think something is up with the boards.

There seems to be something going on over the last several weeks. There have been a lot of outages of the Forums -- more than I recall there ever being before . . . in some cases they seem to be at the same time as other global systems.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

I tried clearing my cookies, but this is clearly a server issue that's kicking in when the "old" cookie expires.

The only way I stay logged in for more than an hour, is when I actually reply to a thread. When I am just browsing - not a hope.

Apparently the "old" cookies have a really, really short life. As in hours instead of days. I've been logged out of the forums at least twice today.

The past few weeks it's happened off and on a few times, with various computers, ISP's, OS's and browsers involved, much more than I've experienced at any time with any of the forums starting with the original alpha forums. I've only had a few times I've been logged out of the new vBulletin forums until the problems within the past several weeks. Last night briefly it didn't matter where I tried going on the forums I was getting a PlayNC page saying they were down for scheduled maintenance. Of course, I hadn't seen any announcement of any maintenance scheduled for 5 PM Central so it confused me. And of course, as soon as I said something on Twitter the forums started working again.

Seeing the differences in browsers, OS's, times and locations leads me to believe it's a server side issue.

The DNS redirect doesn't seem to be perfect and the latter will constantly log you out of the forums while the former does not. Well, at least this is what worked for me.
Nope, I've been using the 1st url this entire time. Never used that 2nd one ever.

Just got kicked out again. Windows 7, IE8 and Firefox.

Just happened to me as well.

Funny thing is I always bring up four pages when I come here. My User CP page, Tech Forum, Player Questions Forum, CaH/VC.

User CP and Tech Forum have different times for last log in and the PQ and CaH/VC is the current time.

I suggest that this has something to do with the patching going on.

I've only had it happen once to me today on ie at work.

maybe the devs are stealing our loots by force logging us out of our forums and the game!

On a more serious note, i can't seem to replicate the problem, so I am not sure whats causing only certain users to suffer while others are fine.
