Well, the time as come to have one last whatever.
After playing for over 6 years, I leave with a different outlook on this game. I've enjoyed the fun times I've had on Pinnacle, being just standing in AP laughing at the new players or talking in PinnBadges or one of the other many global channels I belonged to.
For the final farewell, I'll be spending 1 final night on Pinnacle, this coming Tuesday, December 13th.
Join me at 8pm EST/7pm CST/5pm PST for, um, whatever it is people want to do.
Hope to you see many of you around sometime, as Jade put it, in a galaxy far far far away.
Hope to see everyone Tuesday night!

The Player Event Resource Committee would sincerely like to thank everyone who competed in Mr. and Ms. Paragon Universe. First Round of Server Wide Competition
Contest Basics:
- Any Hero, Villain, or Praetorian may enter.
- Only one entry per account per server is allowed. You may compete on multiple servers (if you are not chosen as a server winner).
- Characters must be at least level twelve (12) to participate.
- Once judging has started, no late entries will be accepted.
- No member of P.E.R.C. may enter (since P.E.R.C. Representatives will be judging).
- Male and Female characters will compete separately. Huge body types will considered male.
Costume Rules:
- Customized Weapons are allowed. This includes shields, blades, guns, etc. Players are asked to only draw weapons however and not utilize power animations.
- Powers Usage is limited. We understand that there are a variety of power customization options, however powers can affect other players unintentionally and can also diffuse attention away from other character components. Players should limit their use of powers and utilize them for Aura purposes. Examples include, but are not limited to Fire Shield, Rock Armor, Personal Force Field, and Invincibility.
- Be very careful in your power choices and avoid overusing multiple powers. Powers should not hide your costume.
- Powers that affect other players or have a large radius may result in disqualification from the event. Examples include, but are not limited to Steamy Mist, Lightning Field, Hot feet, and Shadowfall.
- Please contact a P.E.R.C. Representative if you have any questions about a specific power.
Judging Rules:
- A panel of P.E.R.C. Representatives from other servers will be compiled to judge this event.
- Players are urged to utilize costume choices, weapons customizations, emotes, and auras in building their concept for display.
- Judging for the contest will be scored based on concept, costume, and creativity.
- Judges will pick a total of 16 contestants (8 Male / 8 Female) at the end of the Server Judging Round to move on to the Semi-Finals Round
Second Round of Server Wide Competition
Semi-Finals:
- Semi-Finals will take place in the Pocket D Arena.
- Each Semi-Finalist group will be taken into the Arena separately. Males first, followed by females.
- A P.E.R.C. Rep will start the Arena Event and set up the teams so that it is Judges vs. Semi-Finalists.
- Each contestant will have 1 minute to show off their powers! Temporary powers will not be considered, only how well customized powers work with the overall concept. We are looking for you to put on a show!
- A "dummy" or "test subject" will be announced for the person to target.
- During this round it is IMPORTANT to listen to all P.E.R.C. Representatives for any additional rules & details.
- Anybody who griefs and / or kills another contestant inside the Arena will be disqualified.
- All attendees, who do not make it to the Semi-Finalists, are invited to observe the Semi-Finals event once it starts.
Final Round of Competition (Overall)
Finals:
- The finals will be based both on concept / costume design (same rules as above) and additionally, contestants will be asked to tell the judges about their character concept.
- The finals will occur on the Test server, players must be present to win.
- Costume scores will be formulated the same way as they were in the individual server contest rounds.
- Power customization and showmanship will be factored in as well.
The Player Event Resource Committee would like to thank Paragon Studios and the Community Team for their support and generosity. If you have any questions for this contest, please feel free to contact Madame Pistacio or Arkyaeon via private message or send an email to PERC.COH@gmail.com. -
The Player Event Resource Committee would like to thank all of the players who submitted an entry to compete in Design Challenge - Bases on a Budget! We were extremely pleased to receive 42 entries. Rather than eliminating two players, we felt it best to extend two of the categories to eleven for maximum competition. It was extremely enjoyable to read the short essays on why people wanted to enter and view the gorgeous base screen shots that many players submitted. There are many passionate Base Builders and it will be amazing to see what can be done on a small budget!
Contestants were asked to rank their preference of category they would like to compete it, PERC is very pleased to say that every contestant will be given their first choice to build!

The Player Event Resource Committee Presents:
Design Challenge - Bases on a Budget
This is a contest to test your creativity, skill, and talent at base design! We want to see what you can do on a limited time and prestige budget. Forty designers will be chosen to compete, ten per category.
Are you ready to prove that you are a great base designer?
There are four categories in which contestants will be selected to compete.
- Arcane/Magic (examples: Enchanted Tiki Room or Magic Rainforest)
- Technology/Science (examples: Mad Scientists Lab or Spaceship)
- Modern/Livable (examples: High Rise Apartment or Dorm Room)
- Freestyle/Player Choice (examples: Farm, Jungle, or Candy Factory)
- Anyone who wishes to compete may enter by filling out a short form linked at the bottom of the post.
- Contestants will be chosen based on creativity of their answers, passion for designing, and skill level.
- Entrants may choose to link up to 3 screen shots of previous base work.
- Having previous base building experience is not a requirement; a variety of contestants will be chosen.
- You will be asked to rank (1 least to 5 most) the categories in which you would like to compete in. We will attempt to accommodate each players first choice as much as possible. Players will only compete in 1 category.
- Entries will be accepted until October 14th. Contestants will be selected by October 21st and will be invited into bases that week.
- Contestants will be posted on the forums and will be notified individually via email.
- Each contestant will be given a base to design. Each base will have exactly 300k prestige.
- Contestants may not do anything to earn or buy more prestige for the super group. Part of the challenge of this contest is designing on a tight budget.
- Peacebringers are recommended to use as the base designer for the use of fly. If you do not have that option, please request influence for a jet pack.
- Any player who does not have access to Paragon Rewards base items may request that a PERC Rep drop them off in the base.
- Contestants may design up to three rooms.
- Design/Building time will end on November 15th.
- Judges will tour bases between November 15th and 22nd.
- Contestants may choose to be present for the tour to explain details of the base design.
- Each category will be judged independently.
- Bases will be judged on: creativity, theme, difficulty, flow/cohesion, and overall aesthetics. Bases will not be judged on functionality (power, control, etc.)
- One winner and up to two honorable mentions will be selected per category.
Per Category- 1st place - 2 billion influence, a Gold title for the character of choice, and a special Costume Code
- Honorable Mentions - 500 Million influence

Downloading and installing now!
Does the program give results for one to look at or do I post it somewhere and let someone tell me what it says?

As of late, whenever I play the game, it slugs along. Then something started on Saturday, which I found strange.
I loaded up live, when to click a toon to level up, and it didn't display. What happened, I call it rendering, it rendered (loaded) the toon layer by layer.
Now, here is my question:
Video card failure? SSD failure? (I have CoX on its own drive, beta, test, and live).
I don't know if its video card failure since Civilization 5 plays fine with DirectX 11, even though the GTX 260 isn't supported on DirectX 11.
Then tonight, trying to patch test, its getting stuck on patching .pigg/?!? files where I have to cancel the update, and start the NCsoft launcher again. (on file 31/80 piggs/sound2.pigg- About 45mins remaining)
Thanks for the input, idea(s), and thoughts!

Whenever I zone into a map, zone out of a map, I get the following issue:
About 1/4 way of the blue bar loading, up at the top of the window I'll see the following
City of Heroes (Rikti War Zone) Not Responding
It hiccups for about 5secs, then the blue bar finishes loading.
Thoughts on whats causing this?
CoH Helper Report is attached.
Thanks again!

Quote:Since it's been 2 weeks, I've been wondering when exactly are we getting the 25% cut again? I spoke to a few others and they haven't gotten anything either and were wondering too.
Jade, as I've said, if you have questions or comments, please send a tell in game @Hawkeyed or PM me here on the forums.
I was out all weekend at a family wedding, which sucked, but thats another story.
Heading into game shortly to see if anyone is on.
On a lighter note, the 25% only comes after you've completed your 4 hours of time. I would have to check with Cool Hat Guy to see if you've completed your 4 hours or not. If you have, I'll send the 325mil your way.
Hawkeyed -
-
That would work! I don't know all the fancy / commands the game has.
To global friend someone, I just go to the global list, and click "add" person then type in the global.
You would think that after all this time, I would know the simple / commands.

The following numbers have won a door prize:
3 6 10 and 14
#3 gets 500mil
#6 gets 500mil
#10 gets 500mil
and finally
#14 gets 300mil
Thanks goes to random.org for the help in picking the 4 winners.
If you have the a winning number, please send a tell in game: @Hawkeyed in order to claim your prize.
Congrats to the all the winners.
Hawkeyed -
Quote:I'm curious... who won the prize drawing at the end and what was the amount? I don't see mention of it on the thread... or did you forget to do that with all else that went on?
Thats still being worked on.
I have yet to receive all the funds people said they would pay.
I'm planning on giving 3 VERY LARGE jack pots once I have all the influence.
I didn't forget Jade, your lucky number of 4 might be the on the low end instead of the high end.

Quote:75% of the item proceeds go to Infinity server events? Maybe just a cut-paste error?
Also, I'm not sure I'm worth a plug nickel, but I'm willing to donate tf or mission time as long as they wouldn't expect to stand at the door while I PL or Farm for them. If that works, feel free to add me to the list.
I'll have to check, but may have a few crafted IOs or maybe even a HO to contribute.
Yeah, thats a big fat typo! Ergh
And I'll add you to the list Dark.

The P.E.R.C. Pinnacle Player Auction is coming... Auctionees needed!
So, what's going on?
P.E.R.C. is gearing up to host a Player Auction on Pinnacle! For those of you who aren't familiar with what a Player Auction is, it's a...
1) ...Chance for the community to get together and have fun!
2) ...Way to earn or win some awesome IOs and influence!
3) ...Opportunity to buy time with Paragon Studios employees Avatea, Beastyle, and Zwillinger!
4) ...Good time to help P.E.R.C. generate funds for future player events!
How does it work?
The basic format is this: A player volunteers to have themselves auctioned off. At the event, other players place bids on them. The person with the highest bid gets 4 hours of the auctionee's time (either all at once or in smaller chunks; whatever is mutually agreeable) and the two of you do whatever the buyer wants... So long as it's within the EULA, of course. 25% of the winning bid goes to the auctionee, 25% goes to P.E.R.C. and 50% goes into a special jackpot used at the end of the night for a prize drawing.
I want to be an auctionee!
First, make sure that you can commit to 4 hours total play time with the person that buys you. This can be a single 4 hour session, two 2 hour sessions, four 1 hour sessions, or whatever will work for both parties. You'll need to be able to do this within 1 - 2 months after the auction or desired time frame worked out by both parties. As an auctionee, you don't need to be present on the night of the auction either; we'll still sell you even if you're out of town! Players will receive their 25% cut on the night of the auction, or will have it e-mailed to them if they're unavailable that night.
I want to donate (even though I don't have any influence)!
In addition to auctionees, we're looking for those who are willing to donate items or services. 25% of the proceeds from these sales will go to the player donating the item/service, and the remaining 75% will go towards funding player events on the Pinnacle server. Donations may include IO baskets (10 random procs, purples, PvP IOs, etc.), art, build designing, base building, shopping, costume designing, bio writing, "Master of" TF runs, badge/accolade assistance and similar services. All services must be specific and must be completed within a reasonable time frame after the auction (1 - 2 months). You may also donate IOs to serve as door prizes given away during the event. All players who make donations will be posted, unless they request to be anonymous.
For those who want to donate team spots:
You can offer up a spot on a team for a "Master of" TF, to get a rare badge, etc. This should be something that is specific and special (I.E. a spot on a random team for 2 hours would not qualify). Please make sure if you are offering this that you have 7 people total (or less if you need less) who will be willing run this team.
I want to be a bidder!
Simply show up at the auction on Saturday, June 4th 9pm Eastern and have your influence ready! We'll have players, IOs, and other goodies on sale, and your purchase will help fund future P.E.R.C. Events.
I just want to have fun and maybe win a prize!
You're welcome to show up even if you don't plan on being auctioned off or placing a bid. We'll have prizes and give-aways throughout the event, including the randomly selected grand prize winner who will walk away with 40% of the night's jackpot! Just remember: You have to be there to win!
How do I sign up as an auctionee or offer my services?
We'll need your @Global name and what you would like to auction off; be that yourself, item(s), or service(s). There are a few ways you can send us that info:
@Hawkeyed in game.
PM here on the forums.
Email too! Send it to perc.coh@gmail.com
Questions, please let me know.
Hope to see everyone June 4th!
Hawkeyed
