  1. OP maybe you should make a tank and try it....been having nothing but fun with it. It's clearly intended for melee and tanks.

    Time Overpowered

Make an Earth Kinetics and then tell me if Time is still OP. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that you haven't seen Rad/Rad Def's go to work before have you?
  3. Been here since beta, I feel like they made the lower levels (1-20) much less vexing. And by that I mean, you no longer want to pull your hair out as you try to plan stamina within the 16-18-20 levels. Now you get more powers and less waiting to get a power that should've been "free" to begin with. Either way, life gets fun at 32 and up, life is relaxed at level 20.
  4. You can see it on youtube....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNiP-o-ajII

Looks really bad considering MA and SS are the "brawler" type powersets. Street Justice just looks like a last minute idea. The best move is the uppercut, and not by much.
  5. I have a lvl 50 WP/Stone and I actually have no problems tanking with her during the early levels. RttC should be slotted with taunt and one end redux if you need it...which you really shouldn't considering you get quick recovery and stam is free these days. Taunt + Rttc = profit. Add fault and its just fun watching enemies flop around.

    Dark/Elec tank

The tank that uses the most end....I so hated this powerset before there where IO's....now, not so much.

so does it get better?. well no...does it get easier of course.

I would imagine the mitigation and defense gets better at least for me it did. Tanking in this game is the easiest I've seen. It ain't Warrior tanking.
  8. OP you missed out on the early days of Invul tanking where you could literally go get a cup make a cup of coffee while you auto taunted away and lost close to zero health to red and purple mobs. You can still do that of course, but only with IO's and at level 50. Also there was perma unstoppable...Used to be the most enjoyable experience, next to Golem tanking.

Does it getter better? sure, in the late 30's...just like when you first get your Golem.

Hence why I said IMO....its 2011....I feared I wouldn't have to post (In my opinion) on something that isn't clearly stated as fact. The OP asked a question this is MY take on it. Either an IO'ed tank is doing it for the psy defense and extra amount of health aswell as some proc, but are they drastically needed?....to me, no. Are they worth the amount of money....to me, no.
  10. Save your money and or IO's for a more gimpy tank. Granite doesn't need it, Maybe fire? or DA. But a granite tank with IO's would be a waste. IMO. Unless of course you wish to run without granite for the whelps you might encounter on a mission or to make things harder. Either way, if you're going Granite, why bother?
  11. It's all about the IO's...in this case, My Invul and WP have both outlasted Fire, Ice, Shield and Energy tanks, but this is strictly on a So's to So's level. With the right IO's any tank can outlast every other with ease. On a very base level however (without IO's) my WP has had no problem just standing there and watching the rest fall.....until A Golem comes in.

The game where everyone is the same. It's been moving in that direction for the last couple years. Just look at the revamps and power changes made in that time and you'll see it plain as that zit on your nose.

You just described every MMORPG for the last 10 years. You do realize that eventually Meta gaming comes in. Hell yeah I wanna be overpowered by the time I'm level 50, collected, enough IO's and have done over 10+ raids. Don't like it?, play till level 40 and then make another toon. The only thing that makes an individual different in CoH, is the costume and the backstory. The rest is pretty standard. With that said, I've had tons of fun playing classes people ran into the ground.

Or...you can play, WoW, Rift, GW, etc and find that everyone looks the same and wears the same armor for the entire game. What you posted was nothing new, nor does it really mean anything. You're acting like we start off OP out the gate....we don't, and even at level 50 you still have to do a lot of shiiit before becoming "OP".

    Tough hide..?

Been a while since I've been in the forums, and it's good to see that the arguments about the same dumb thing never change. With that posted, I took Tough Hide because If I play a class I usually like to make my job to be the best at said class. "Its add more Def/Res?" ...I'm getting it. But that's from a guy who came from Diablo, Ultima, etc. As a tank Def/Res>certain attacks. Should it be an inherent? sure that argument was created years ago.

    Are we hated?

For me its the players that chime in with the now infamous "I will tank this no prob" line, only to die within seconds due to their misunderstanding of why bubble MM's became so famous , and how they never even read Bubble powers. Then there's the bubblers that sit in bubble and let the pets go wild without ever once buffing the team.

The occasions don't happen much to me anymore as I've made enough MM friends and we know how to role through missions without playing the, "I will tank, even though we have a Brute on the team" game. Do I hate the MM class?, hell no, I love the class. I finally found a class I can easily relate to. Unfortunately, the devs thought giving each class knockback would be fun and tolerable, which it isn't.

Frankly, if you come with buffs or debuffs I want you on my team, MM's just need to learn how to control pets and think more. In this case more QQ less Pew Pew...never thought I would ever end up saying that.
  15. It's lazy work...how is this new to any of us playing the game since beta?
  16. I would suggest Invul or FA. EM is all about quick powerful melee attacks, Rock Armor will hinder this later on (past 32), Ice is also a nice combination. I love taking out my icecream machine for some EM runs.

Invul/FA/IA , anything else would be a hassle.
  17. Dark armor takes the most end to run. 6-7 toggles are never fun to run. I've seen plenty of end redux builds (with heavy IO use) so I would suggest another AT. But if you just need to play that AT I would suggest dropping a lot of inf on the character. Hopefully you have a lvl 50 that has collected a couple millions. Best bet is to invest in IO's as soon as possible. And that's from a dinosaur like me that hates em.

I don't mind someone investing into their characters, why should I? its how they wish to play the game. But a little common sense is needed her. There are people who rather boast about their purple collecting. Elitism is a two way street but secularism is always ignored. Like you ignored my point.

The funny thing is, there is no "My purples are better than yours" game unless you want there to be. If you don't care about purples and minmaxing, why do you feel threatened that someone else does and trumpets the fact? I can't help but suspect that accusations like these are ultimately rooted in your own insecurity.

Actually it exists, I didn't say the devs incorporated it into the gameplay, but rather that people can usually be found boasting. Then theres the common "I worked hard for this IO", I'm fine with how hard people try to get the new "shiny", but many have a hard time keeping it to themselves. The fact that you think me insecure already makes the claim that you collect IO's on the regular, so you're biased...not much credibility there...
  19. Rad/Rad and D3 Defenders where soloing AV's way before IO's. Even Fire Tanks were known to Burn down everything. Now, every class can. Once I heard of IO's I knew it was going to become WoW Lite, with people spouting ; "I can tank this" or some other sort of entitlement through purples. Now you have the elitist grinders with search messages of ; "Tank with 2k+ life, 100% regen etc".

I suppose its nice to min/max your character you might have shelfed for various reasons, but I hate playing the "My purples are better than yours" game. I'm just glad it hasn't become a "gear check", before one can join a team.

Theres a fishing emote, but no actual fishing was my point, you're reaching. Maybe you don't understand. The walking feature has been in several MMO's already, except the difference between the ability in CoH and the others, is the wait period. It's a simple action to implement, so why it took five years is the question.

It's not a WoW vs CoH thing or whatever your creating with your vivid imagination.
  21. Took what five years?....to implement a feature games like WoW, and CO released with...whats next fishing?.
  22. I never enjoyed the massive knockback from powers such as Energy. I just dont enjoy playinhg "yo-yo" with the enemy. Still, it is indeed funny to see the rag doll physics. And really thats all anyone who uses KB heavy moves say. "I find it funny", or "it makes me laugh". Which is all nice and dandy, but changing it from KB to KD would also be nice.

I've played every class, I enjoy the strengths and weaknesses. But seeing as Fire or Elec blasters get the job done without KB...I have a feeling it doesn't really matter. Been playing the game since release and I never found in a huge battle thinking "I need knockback right now". It's just added insult to injury to the enemy, and worth a giggle to some. It isn't pivotal.

    Superiority complex much?....
  24. My main problem I know, will come from Fire/Fire Brutes wanting to burn down everything in sight. Or even worse, Masterminds dying on alpha's due to "I usually tank all the time" followed by "this never happens". Even so I hope many will learn that the tactic is the same.

I'm hoping both tanks and Brutes will work together to either pull bigger groups, or work to shred through enemies. I don't doubt that many a rad/rad or Ill/anything will try to be frontrunners with stories of glorious tanking ability. Either way I never bother to knock any tactic that makes me win. Just tired of dealing with ego's.
