My iPod has ample computing power to take us back to the moon. I would be willing to donate it to NASA.

I also experienced the cutting short of animations. It was on a controller, no shields or anything. I'd been standing around chatting for a few minutes beforehand, so no combat stance. I tried both drinkformula and superserum. Going from Male ~5.5ft to Male ~6.5ft the animation stopped prematurely(more specifically, the animation stopped when the height changed.) It did the same thing when I went from 6.5ft back to 5.5ft as well. I haven't tested it with other emotes.

What kind of netbook do you have that lets you play City of Heroes?

Did you just get Mercenary now?

The only thing I can think of is that it probably needs time to power up through offline time after the accolade acquisition before it is awarded.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I just figured this out myself when I was wondering where my Vitalize temp power was. Gotta log in to actually receive the accolade, then after that you can stay logged out to get charges.
Kind of sucks, but at least I know now. -

I'l be supah-lazy and copy what I asked in a similiar thread.
"Excited but curious how Spines will work. It's "per power", yes?
It could make for an interesting technicolor effect depending on whether they allow us to color the bulk of the common form (the overall spiny exterior) seperate from the projectiles.
Regardless if it is or is not, in cases like running Quills while attacking with Impale and Lung and etc... which color would override for the main skeletal form since the AOE toggle shares that large physical feature with the attacks.
At any rate, I will be beside myself with never-ending joyful squees if we can also choose the color of Spine's poison splatters. "
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I kind of wonder if the body spines and the attack spines will be separate... Like you pick a color and type for the spines that appear when you go into attack mode, and you pick the color and type for the attack effects. So if you picked green thorns for your body spines, you would always bust out green thorns while attacking, even if the attack being used is purple spines.
Of course I could be wrong... -

No. It never occurred to me that Silver mantis had spines. The ones I made are very basic, conical, metal spikes.
I am not a hotshot modeler/texture artist, so I prefer to work on the basic looking stuff that can accept a broad range of character concepts being projected on to it. My opinion is that the more specific and detailed you get with something like this, the more narrow it's potential for fitting a lot of character concepts become.
Similiar sort of philosophy for all of the shields and weapons I personally modeled. Except for the Rularuu stuff.

Just speaking in general here... I just love that.
I think that angle is so true and works really well (At least for making a gamer like me happy).
Oh, sure. Some specific artwork can be great as well.
However, especially in video games such as this, I absolutely prefer a more generic look that can then, as you said, allow the user to better project their own imagination unto it.
Now, I know you're just speaking off the cuff of your own personal work and taste.
I just thought I'd add that I find this is especially true for character models (faces and such) as well. And I get nervous whenever I hear about graphical upgrades and such for a game I enjoy.
(Especially after a certain other game I used to play... a long time ago... in a galaxy... eh, you know... made some major visual changes to existing player characters, claiming it was an upgrade... Which I did not see as such, hehe)
"Holy Side Track, EK!"
Anyway, I really only replied simply because I love that mentality, Mr. Brawler!

I'll derail the thread some more(but at least keep it Scrapper-centric) by saying that I agree with the sentiment. And to further delve into the idea of making things slightly more generic to adhere to more character concepts, I think it'd be cool if Broadsword and Katana were renamed to One Handed Sword and Two Handed Sword respectively, and each given access to all of the other's sword options.
There's nothing particularly Katana- or Broadsword-centric about the animations(nothing that could preclude one powerset from realistically being able to use the other's type of sword, anyway) but I see the names being used to justify limiting the options available. Why aren't the Longsword, Flamberge, and Roman swords available for Katana? "Because the set's called Katana, not Broadsword" is the usual reply. Why aren't the Rusted and Ninja blades available for Broadsword? "Because the set's called Broadsword, not Katana." It's a needless limitation that can hamper a character concept.
Of course I know this kind of thing is a bit radical and goes beyond the scope of BaB's department and I apologize for further derailing the thread, but it's something that always bothered me and I thought I'd throw this out there while the subject of being less specific was being thought about. -

It's not that I think he won't be a good GL, it's that I think he'd make an even better Flash. But if he's cast as GL odds are that if and when they make a Flash movie, he won't be in it.
-
I would've rather seen him as Flash.

I agree with removing AE from the lowbie zones. I wouldn't agree with making them level or veteran restricted. I'm sure there are a number of new users who want to try out CoH for the express purpose of creating and playing their own content. Limiting that to 3+ month old accounts would be a bad move.
Level gating it isn't quite as bad, but I think the easiest solution is to simply remove AE from the lowbie zones as already stated. Making the first one you encounter the one in Steel is a soft form of level gating that still allows lowbies the chance to participate. It also jives with the Invention system, which is formally introduced to a character at level 10 and with the first university being in Steel as well. -
I never minded fantasy on SciFi. It always made sense to me, I see scifi and fantasy lumped together everywhere. Of course I'm talking actual fantasy, like LOTR or Merlin or one of those. You know, something with magic or monsters.
Despite the historical inaccuracies, Braveheart is not fantasy. Neither is The Patriot. They're historical fiction at best. And yet they've shown both of these movies on the Sci Fi channel. That coupled with wrasslin has made me all but abandon the channel.
I look forward to Eureka, Voyagegate and Caprica, but it seems like if it's not Friday night, there's no reason to watch anymore. -
Not being able to use it in missions is certainly a loss, but not a big one for me.
What is a big loss for me is not being able to use it in an SG base. I really hope they put it back to the way it was. -
Not sure if it's exactly the same as yours, but what was happening for me is I would load costume and all the body sliders, colors, and costume pieces would load fine, but the head sliders would stay the same as before I loaded the costume. I haven't tried it lately, though from what I hear it's intermittent; sometimes the head sliders load and sometimes they don't.
There was a thread in one of the I15 preview forums, though I forget which one. I know I and at least a few others have bugged this. -
OK, that is damn cool. How many wall cabinets is that?
-
I was surprised to see the emote used flames, but at the moment I have no characters who would use it, so I'm not that concerned.
Now as soon as I come up with a Snidely Whiplash concept, then I'll be irked.
Unless I go with Fire. -
The "Wall Light" items can do this as well, both the big and the small versions.
-
/visscale still works like that.
You could also try /lodbias 2. If I'm not mistaken, this command makes it so some 3d models switch to their higher-detailed versions further out than normal. The highest is 2, default is 1. The effect is very subtle, however.
Also, if you like the concept of the "depth of field" effect in the game but hate that it makes everything overly blurry, try using the /dofweight command. I don't recall what the default for dofweight is(probably 1), but setting it to something like 0.7 or 0.6 dials back the blurriness nicely. -
You can get a fully functional Blinding Feint-AV Combo(Ablating-Vengeful-Sweeping) working without much extra recharge. Quickness, some recharge enhancement, and maybe a little bit of set bonuses can give you that chain without needing to get Hasten. A good alternative that uses even less Recharge is BF-AV Combo-Power Slice.
For pure damage, the BF-AV Combo is nice(there's better chains, but they usually require a LOT more recharge), though some people like having the Sweep Combo(1kCuts-Power-Typhoon's) as well for more AoE and a bit of mitigation(AoE knockdown). A lot of people skip Empower and Weaken, but then again some others swear by them.
You don't absolutely need Weave to softcap, but having it makes it easier, as does having Tough to put the Steadfast +Def into. My own Brute skipped Weave and has Tough just for that purpose.
I didn't find the end use to be too bad, but you'll want Stamina of course. There are also a good number of sets that give some Recovery bonuses. Obviously if you had unlimited funds or a bit of patience, a Miracle +Recovery and Numina +Reg/Rec in Health can do wonders.
You'll definitely want the entire secondary. Though if you get to the point where you're softcapped, you could skip Elude. -
Not enough racially insensitive, stereotypical, and/or annoying robots, stupid useless humans, or ball/humping jokes to be an accurate depiction.

Not saying it would be the best idea for them; then again they did allow all the prestige sprints to be gained via vet. reward...so...there is a precedent.
[/ QUOTE ]
My understanding is that prestige sprints were part of the pre-order version of CoH, not something that they paid extra for, just paid early. Thats why they came in as vet rewards and is different from putting the boosters in as vet rewards. The devs have said that they won't put stuff available for free that people explicitly had to pay extra for (GvE, Valkryie, Wedding, Super Boostes, etc).
[/ QUOTE ]
These were part of the DVD edition of CoH, and were included along with the DVD special edition cape.

Edited for stuttering

This isn't true. The 4 prestige sprints included in the Vet Reward were for preorders. The DVD edition included the Prestige Power Slide and the Cape of Four Winds, which are not available via Vet Reward. -
I think part of the test is figuring out what to do. They do give you a little clue before most of them by showing a mouse if you need to click something, or a numpad if you need to enter numbers, etc.
-
Short answer: It happened, but it's not what you think.
Not-as-short answer: Weapon draw time used to be included in animation times, meaning there was no penalty for redrawing your weapon. Now, weapon draw times are not included in animation times. This results in slightly faster attacks, but now having to redraw your weapon has an effect on DPS. -
Increasing the overall Day/Night cycle by one hour, divvying that up by giving Night an additional half hour and Day an additional half hour would be nice.
