Working on a DB/SR, any considerations?
Well this is my fav brute. Haste is recommend put it is one of the few builds were it doesn't mean the difference of day and night.
End was never a big issue with this build. I didnt get it b/c i couldnt fit it in. This well be a tight build very tight. Soft Cap well be easy. Now i didn't get Aid self and something regret it. The combos i use are Weaken, Empower, and Attack vitals. It does solid DPS dont the best.
On the Secondary grab everything, Combat jumping and weave. Then repec out of elude when you get IO'ed out.
With that setup you well have 39 defense and 0.73 endUse with just SO.
You can get a fully functional Blinding Feint-AV Combo(Ablating-Vengeful-Sweeping) working without much extra recharge. Quickness, some recharge enhancement, and maybe a little bit of set bonuses can give you that chain without needing to get Hasten. A good alternative that uses even less Recharge is BF-AV Combo-Power Slice.
For pure damage, the BF-AV Combo is nice(there's better chains, but they usually require a LOT more recharge), though some people like having the Sweep Combo(1kCuts-Power-Typhoon's) as well for more AoE and a bit of mitigation(AoE knockdown). A lot of people skip Empower and Weaken, but then again some others swear by them.
You don't absolutely need Weave to softcap, but having it makes it easier, as does having Tough to put the Steadfast +Def into. My own Brute skipped Weave and has Tough just for that purpose.
I didn't find the end use to be too bad, but you'll want Stamina of course. There are also a good number of sets that give some Recovery bonuses. Obviously if you had unlimited funds or a bit of patience, a Miracle +Recovery and Numina +Reg/Rec in Health can do wonders.
You'll definitely want the entire secondary. Though if you get to the point where you're softcapped, you could skip Elude.
I was recently convinced by a friend to make another Brute, so I decided to try sets that I haven't done before. I ultimately chose DB/SR.
What I am asking if there are any special considerations that I should need to know. I figure that I'm going to soft-cap the build and get enough +recharge so that I can get a smooth attack chain. I suspect that I should also pay attention to end management, and will probably also get Aid Self as well.
I'm not looking for any complete builds, but a few hints or ideas to consider, like "is Hasten needed?" or "Which combos, and thus attacks, work best given the secondary?"
