You lost me at Hal Jordan. Should have put Kyle Rayner in the movie instead.

And the writer for that article overlooked Halle Berry as having starred in both a Marvel and DC movie.

NO she didn't! Catwoman is like that third Matrix movie - it NEVER HAPPENED! Death to those who raise the subject!

UNTRUE!!!

She did not act in either of those movies!

MY FAREWELL GIFT

It is never truly gone, as long as there is someone left to remember.

I would've rather seen him as Flash.

You don't need acting talent to star in movies. Isn't Hollywood great?

I <3 Green Lantern, hope it's coming soon.

He's not really a Hal Jordan, though. He's more of a Wally West.

Hopefully the movie ends up being written well at least.

I'm confused. Doesn't Marvel sort of own him under Deadpool. This sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I'd say the dude who played as Spawn but then again he's also Spawn supposedly, in the remake they're coming out with.

EDIT: The only difference is that Ryan Renolds actually made, at least in my opinion, the best character match. All while Hally... well... Her nine lives were over twenty lives ago but the heavens felt sorry for her.

He's really going to have to tone his schtick down for this. Hope he can do it.

Okay, I can see him playing Guy Gardner. With a stretch I can even see him playing Kyle Rayner... but Hal Jordan?! No... Can't see that.

I could honestly see him being a good match if it was Guy Gardner Lantern but not Hal Jordan.

I love Ryan, but not so sure I can see him as GL. I hope he does well.

I vaguely remember this same sort of subject when Micheal Keaton was cast as Batman, he did really good in that.

i'll be very disappointed if they use Guy Gardner instead of the one TRUE Green Lantern, Hal Jorden.

*Note: This is a running joke between me and my Husband and a direct dig at Him, not an attack on any other strange Guy Gardner fanbois.

The dude who played Spawn is named Michael Jai White. But are you serious...? Can it be that they are actually gonna do a remake or sequel?

If there's even the remotest possibility of that happening, I'm gonna start picking up every penny I find. Why, I may even begin passing on those accursed chain letters I keep finding in my e-mail.

As for Mr. Reynolds, what a coup! I guess his ship has finally come in. What with him being tapped for the Deadpool movie. And now the one and only Green Lantern. If it's done right, I won't have any complaints. If it's done right, he could wind up like Harrison Ford. With two iconic characters to his credit.

But of course it all hinges on whether or not it's done right.

((I remember laughing when I saw Hugh Jackman's picture when they announced he was playing Wolverine. His profile indicated that he was a pretty-boy song and dance man from Australian stage and television. He's still nothinig like how I think Wolverine should look (too tall for one thing), but he's played the part well, and is now how most people see the character.

Ryan Reynolds will probably make a fine Hal Jordan. If he has a good script/direction. ))

When they first announced the X-Man movie, there was noise of hiring Glen Danzig to play Logan/Wolverine, mainly because of his height and build. But of course they went with Jackman.

I think it's worked out - he has the right ATTITUDE.

As for Hal Jordan, the persona they need is a bit more serious. He was originally 'the man without fear', and a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft, if memory serves...

... which means I'd be looking for a modern-day Lee Majors. Ryan MIGHT be able to pull it off, but I don't see that many 'comic' opportunities playing Hal. Kyle, maybe, he has his goofy moments. Guy, definitely.

I'd suggest people watch some of Reynold's more serious movies. He's actually pretty good at the serious stuff when given a chance. Smokin' Aces and the Amityville Horror remake spring to mind. Oh Melissa George, why can't Hollywood put you in more movies I actually want to see.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

That is true, while I didn't like smokin aces very much he did have a good dramatic turn as the FBI agent.

I still liked his part in Blade III, "I ate a whole ton of garlic and I just farted." xD

((As far as Ryan being a "comic actor" and whether he can play serious...

Look at Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting. Danny Kaye in the Twilight Zone episode, Paladin of the Last Hour. Jack Lemon in the Days of Wine and Roses. And conversely, Robert De Niro in Analyze This. Or watch any of Tom Hanks early movies and then watch Road to Perdition or Castaway.

I'm not saying Ryan Reynolds is my vision of Hal Jordan, but he's a credible actor with good comic timing. I think he'll be able to pull off an action sci-fi flick and capture the fearless, sometimes cocky Hal Jordan as well as the material he's given will allow. ))

It's not that I think he won't be a good GL, it's that I think he'd make an even better Flash. But if he's cast as GL odds are that if and when they make a Flash movie, he won't be in it.

Nope. SAG rules gives him the power of choice. If he wants to do both, he can and they have to adjust their schedules around him.

Yes, but since DC seems to be going with the earliest version of all their Superheroes, the odds that a flash movie would feature Wally West seem really low, and the odds seems higher for it to feature Barry Allen, which in my opinion is not fitting of Ryan Reynolds either.. so either way, it's a bad go.
