To be honest. I have sound turned off the majority of the time I play due to outside influences :-(

Have you considered using a headset or headphones? -
I saw someone mention Channel VU2009, another good one is Virtuebadges09.
Where did you broadcast for teams? If it was a zone other than Atlas Park, yea, sometimes it will be quiet. A couple of weeks ago I wanted to do Sister Psyche TF, so I went to Atlas Park and broadcast for a team and had 4 tells in under 30 seconds and filled the rest of the team from global channels.
After I finished that TF, I was doing some selling at WW and saw a broadcast for Sister Psyche in Steel and swapped to another toon to run again. Then later that night I switched to Infinity and ran the TF once again.
Earlier this week, I saw a broadcast on Virtuebadges09 that someone needed the exploration badge from Skyway Safeguard mission. I switched to a level appropriate toon, invited the broadcaster, went to Steel and broadcast for a radio team. I had a full team in about 2 minutes on a tuesday afternoon. -

I only want one thing from the new boards. Everything else is fluff.
When I click on a thread topic... I want to be taken to the first post in that thread. Not tossed somewhere seemingly random and forced to scroll up to find the OP.
That's it. Too much to ask?
Oh and a pony.

On the current BB, it doesn't take you to a random post in the thread, it takes you to the first unread post in the thread since you last accessed that thread. -
One of the issues I keep coming across in these threads is the New Players who are funneled into AE when they log into Atlas Park. I have identified two main funneling mechanisms.
1: AE broadcasts to join teams running missions (farm and non-farm, mostly farm) in the AE Building. They want to team and start leveling...fast.
2: At level 5, a contact popup from Architect Entertainment Director which funnels players into the AE Building for tour and again, players stay and join teams and start leveling...fast.
Most of these New Players may not be aware of the rest of the game that exists beyond Atlas Park and the AE Building. A few may find out and venture out into the rest of the game, but seem to do so when they are at the higher levels, when all they have experienced is the Gameplay style of AE.
The problem is, the Gameplay style of AE is vastly different than the rest of game. This is where AE Babies run into difficulties. Not knowing how to travel from one zone to another zone. Not knowing how to reset a mission. Not realizing that running missions on level 5 difficulty when most of your team is 5 levels below yours is not a good thing and will most likely end up with teamwipes.
So, once again, I am going to tout one solution the AE issue that I have come up with. This most likely wont totally solve the issue of New Players being funneled into AE, but it may help funnel some of the more curious New Players back out at fairly regular intervals.
So at level 5, the Architect Entertainment Director contact pops up and asks the new player to come to AE Building. I suggest that the Detective contact in Kings Row pops up at the same time asking the player to come and get a radio. The curious player, hopefully, will travel to Kings Row to check out the new contact they just received. Perhaps they will run a few radio missions and the bank mission and get their temporary power and see a little bit of what the rest of the game is about and then the Detective gives them a new contact to meet. If the player didnt go get their radio, perhaps a Detective contact can pop up every 5 levels to ask the player to come get their radio.
At level 10, the College Dean contact should pop up asking the player to come to University in Steel to learn about enhancements and crafting. One of the other issues I keep seeing noted in various threads is New Players not knowing about enhancements or slotting. Hopefully, this would funnel New Players to learn about that Game Feature and again, get them out of AE in Atlas Park.
As an introduction to Task Forces, perhaps Positron can popup at Level 10 with the Task Force. I know a lot of players dont like Positron because it is so long, but it is the lowest level Task Force available.
At Level 20, Serge from Icon can be a contact popup asking for help, then the player can get an extra costume slot. Also, City Representative can pop up with the Cape Mission. At Level 30, City Representative can pop up with the Aura Mission.
While this may not be a perfect solution, it may get New Players out of AE in Atlas Park into the rest of the game to see what else there is to do, and hopefully, at low enough levels to learn about the rest of the game at the levels when they should be asking the questions that they are asking at the higher levels. -

I wouldn't object to that, but for the small problem - training can and does take time. Sometimes a lot of time. Specifically, when you don't have a build prepared, you essentially stand next to the trainer, stare at the level-up screen and think.

I think you misunderstood my idea. It would function like Mission Transporter from Mac Edition. It would teleport you from where you are to stand next to a Trainer.

Sam wasn't misunderstanding your suggestion, he was actually replying to AzureSkyCiel's alternate suggestion.

Ah, my bad, no I don't think level 50's should train lowbies. -

Specifically, when you don't have a build prepared, you essentially stand next to the trainer, stare at the level-up screen and think. Now, NPCs don't mind. They have infinite patience and besides, it's not like they're going to actually GO anywhere. But people? That might actually kind of suck, specifically since you're GUARANTEED to have people demand to have a 50 stand around while they level up mid-mission. Why wouldn't they?
The other option, I suppose, is to just let 50s OPEN the level-up screen for other people and then walk away, but this comes with two problems. Firstly, the level-up screen doesn't give all the information you might need while levelling up, such as what recipes and salvage you have on hand and what you can Invent. Sometimes, you just want to back out of your level-up screen to look at your Power Attributes. There are a lot of reasons you may want to back out for a sec, but oops! The 50's gone and you have to chase him down and bug him again.
And then even besides that, the idea of training is that you go to a trainer and he TRAINS you. I know it's a weak excuse, but allowing a "trainer" to just open the level-up screen for you and essentially say "OK, kid. Pick anything you like!" That's a bit... Well, odd, let's call it.
It's not out of the question, of course, and I agree it would be pretty neat, but it might come with its own set of problems.

As someone else said, perfect for a Vet Award. It's not something that would be game breaking, but semi-useful for when you level up and you have some distance to reach a trainer, like say, you are at bottom end of Independence Port or in Boomtown. Your options for which trainer you could go to would expand as you level. That way, you can't go to a trainer in Peregrine Island if you only leveled to 9. -
It becomes active only after you level up. It can only be used once each time you level. You would have to wait to level again before power became active again. It would be a use it or lose it deal like the Freespecs, you can have it active only once.
Perhaps they can put this in a Booster Pack or (unlikely) a Vet Power award. -

This is where Altitis is a blessing.
Every 21 days, I do the Dayjob Shuffle.
In between shuffles, I play the various Alts in the order I have them listed at Badgehunter.com. I will play with a toon for a period of time, say, for one contact or as long as I have stuff to do like a contact, teaming and so forth, then I switch to another toon.
I will probably keep doing this after I earn all the Dayjob accolades to get their powers charged up. -
As has been stated in other similar threads.
Join chat channels.
Go to Atlas Park/Cap Au Diable (the AE Hubs) and broadcast for team/task force/whatever.
A couple weekends ago, I wanted to run Sister Psyche TF on Virtue and went to Atlas Park and broadcast for the TF. In 30 seconds, I had 4 tells asking to join. I had also broadcast on Virtuebadges09 and filled the other 3 slots from the channel.
Later that afternoon, I switched to another toon on same server and did the same thing with similar results.
That evening, I switched to Infinity to run Sister Psyche with some game friends I had met while on a PUG and did the same thing to fill out the remaining slots.
So I was able to do the same TF 3 times in one day and form TF teams in little to no time at all.
Change happens, but adjust and adapt and the gameplay will be fine.
Yesterday, I saw a post on Virtuebadges09 that someone needed the Skyway safeguard exploration badge, I jumped on a level 17 toon, invited the other hero and broadcast for a radio team in Steel, didn't even have to go to Atlas park and formed a full team in a very short time and we all had a blast running the radio/bank missions.
The fun teams are there, you just have to take responsibility to find them.
I remember when I started playing, I was so intimidated at the idea of forming my own PUG. But I would join a team when I saw one was forming and had a great time. I paid attention to what the leader did and after a while, realized that I could probably do what they did.
I started forming teams and I was overconcerned about making sure everyone was having a great time and running missions and picking missions from their list as well as mine. I finally realized that I was worrying to much and just go with the flow. -

I just have to ask it, why? Just what the hell do you plan to do with that character after getting to 50 in such a short time and skipping over 90% of the game's content?
[/ QUOTE ]
i'm not planning on actually doing it....not yet atleast....this my first time playing the game so i want to play it all the way through, one mish at a time....but if there's a way to do it, i'm just curious how it can be done....plus i'm not sure if once i play this game all the way through with one character, i want to necessarily do it over and over again with the rest of the ones i create, i may get to a point where i want to just create one and level him up quick....
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless you turn off your Earn Xp option so you can run missions from every contact on your way up, you will miss different parts of the game while leveling. It is just the nature of the game. There is just so much Dev-created content that it is easy to miss something as you level up. -
I found another trick to fight lag last night while battling a Rikti Raid in Talos. I zoomed my view all the way out and my lag reduced tremendously and I got to see the fight that everyone was doing at the time, not just my little corner of the light show.
About an hour later, a Zombie Raid hit Talos, so I tried it again and I was amazed at how much better my game was during the Raid. -
Check you Communications Tabs (usually under Global) to make sure you have Hero Event Zone Message listed. If not, add it, if it is there, do normal stuff and wait for a message to post about a Rikti Invasion in "zone name". Rush to zone and advertise for team, defeat bombs and then defeat teleporting Rikti!
Think of it as our version of Marvel Secret Invasion, battling the alien invader standing next to someone you may have never teamed with. -
Badges and Accolade which gives a nice power, for one reason.
-
Per ParagonWiki: Singularity is also intangible to other players; they are able to walk through it, unlike other Pets.
Beyond that, not sure why you would slot it for Intangible. -
OO OO....I wanna create a new character and name him Captain FabUlous!
-
October seems to be a reasonable guess and would probably be a decent goal as a CertainOther game goes live in September, October would be a good time to attract players that have left to check out a CertainOther game.

Confirmation?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I don't have any confirmation, but let's look at it this way. Architect Edition was boxed and set up and advertised as "Your choice between two exclusive in-game item packs, the Cyborg Pack or the Magic Pack."
If they changed it so that Super Science booster pack would be included, all unsold boxes would have to be recalled and new boxes printed up with the new option.
Part of that is 'Truth in Advertising'. If they include something that is not advertised, they could potentially sued for not disclosing all info of what is available as a bonus.
There would also be an uproar of buyers of the edition before Super Science who wanted it included and not having a choice to select it when later buyers have the option.
A good example is the pre-order helmets that are now available as part of a vet badge, I believe there are still players who resent that, believing it was their right for buying the preorder and it shouldn't be available to anyone else. -
Magic 8 Ball says......Outlook not so good.

Hmmm...ya know, I'ma gonna create a new toon for that weekend and just play in AE to see what happens.
Already gots a name picked out! -
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a Rikti.
A Rikti whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet mothership's flowing breast;
A Rikti that looks at Hro'dotz all day,
And lifts his beefy arms to pray;
A Rikti that may in summer wear
A pack of monkeys in his lair;
Upon under whose Portal heroes have lain;
Who intimately lives with pain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only Honoree can unleash a Rikti.
-With apologies to Joyce Kilmer and the readers of this wretched poem. -
On Infinity on Sunday, forming a Sister Psyche TF. Had a warshade on team and he wanted another scrapper for last position. When I check in the Team Find button, only one scrapper was listed and he was level 9. Granted that was just for those who listed themselves as looking for teams, but still.

*bump*
I seem to be getting some other forumites in other topics to notice this idea, so thought I would pop it back to the top.
