    1. Energy Manip: Chance for Stun slotted in Physical Perfection (on scrap)
    This was changed to not stun yourself. It's not supposed to do anything. Originally, IT WOULD STUN YOURSELF. Or, if you put it in Speed Boost, it would stun your ally (that was fun ).

    2. Gaussian's Sync: Chance for Buildup slotted in Focused Acc (on scrap also)
    Every 10 seconds while Focused Accuracy is activate, the proc will have a 5% chance to trigger. Most people recommend slotting it in a click power, since generally it'll always trigger when you're in combat, in that case.

    Procs aren't globals. A proc in a click power has a chance to go off every time that specific power is used. A proc in a toggle has a chance every 10 or so seconds that the toggle is active. A proc in an auto, has a chance every 10 seconds to trigger. There's also the "120 procs", which aren't really procs, in that they don't have a chance component, and give you a buff for 120 seconds after a power was used in a click, or as long as a toggle/auto is active.

If you still have it after that definitely file another report.
    It will go away when you complete it, but I'm fairly certain they also added in a timer a good while back.
  3. IIRC, it's supposed to linger, though I believe that it does have a limited duration (7 days, or something? not sure).
  4. Without a emote, the command would be:

    /macro Cos1 "cc 1"

    CC = Costume Change
    CCE = Costume Change Emote

    *I have tried all variations of these commands with CC instead of cce, but its the same error.
    Double check. Me thinks you got CCE and CC backwards.

    It's working fine for me. I'm betting they changed the IP address, and the DNS records simply haven't finished propagating... more than a few ISPs ignore the expiration dates on caches.
  6. I frequently use the following bind to toggle the UI on and off:

    /bind o ++disable2d

    That makes it so whenever I press 'o', the UI will be toggled. Perfect for recording video at a moments notice (and if you're using FRAPs, you should also do: /bind F9 nop so that you don't spam local whenever you start/stop recording a video using the default key).

    You must tell the exe which game ("project") to run. Run the command "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\cityofheroes.exe" -project coh (or "C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cityofheroes.exe" -project coh if you're on 64bit Windows) to directly launch the game. You can copy & paste that command into the Run prompt (accessible by pressing Win+R on your keyboard).

    Just follow the Test Server installation instructions, but use '-beta' instead of '-test'.

    That's not true. Nvidia, for quite a long time, has used a Unified Driver Architecture, so there's basically only one driver (+ a legacy driver for really old cards). The selection on nvidia's site is so they know whether to give you the legacy, or current drivers series.

    JC_THREE's card is still supported with the non-legacy cards. Although since it's a laptop, he'll most likely need a modified driver (modified = doesn't refuse to install on a mobile). I generally grab mine from LaptopVideo2Go.
  10. Remember, it's not even 9 am for Paragon Studios. They generally don't start things like this until 8 am - 1pm their time.

    Both Defiant and Union are around the same population from what I've heard (I don't play on the EU servers ). You might wanna check out Paragon Wiki's Issues listing and see what new stuff/changes have been made since you were gone.

    Please post a CoH Helper log. Your video card's drivers are most likely simply out of date.

    By default, Services are unable to interact with the Desktop, both to protect the user, and to protect the server from injection attacks... which most developers are blissfully unaware of. If interaction was enabled, I could still see problems from a program not being aware of how to deal with being started before the user is logged in.

    The best method I've seen (short of architecturing the program to handle that properly) is to use the Task Schedule to start the program upon login, elevated. That should work around most all the problems of running it as a service, while avoiding the repetitive UAC prompt at login.

    You did it incorrectly. You gave the -project coh switch to cohupdater.exe, instead of cityofheroes.exe.

    It's probably just a temporary network issue.

    If this persists, you could try a few things, such as restarting your computer, reseting your router, and checking your firewall's settings.

    In the big window, you can right click and select Hide Power Sources. A lot of them will jump around, because of how they stack.

    It says you get 7.5% recharge. When I hovered over say foot stomp, I seen no change in recharge, it was the same as before. Am I missing something?
    Luck of the Gambler is a global recharge buff, it operates the same way as a set bonus.

    You mean the updater won't connect? You can bypass the updater with the command C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\cityofheroes.exe -project coh (C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cityofheroes.exe -project coh on 64bit windows, use the Run dialog, accessible by pressing Win+R).
  18. You appear to be running Stardock. Make sure that it does NOT skin Cityofheroes.exe, otherwise it will cause it to freeze like you describe.

    It means that you get an extra month tacked onto the end of your current pay time. Next time you renew will be a month later than it would have otherwise been.

    Also, if you pay yearly instead of monthly, the value of the free month will be ~$11 (which still leaves it as a better deal than buying just the item pack).

    If you make yourself the owner of the CoH installation folder, then use Microsoft's Application Compatibility Toolkit (on cohupdater.exe), you won't have to deal with UAC for the updater, and can run CoX as a standard user.

    If my hypothesis is true, then in order for the Setpoint drivers to work they'd have to run with admin privileges. My question, though, is why DOESN'T a device driver run with admin privileges to begin with?
    The device driver is running in the kernel (so rights higher than admin). The helper utility is running with your user rights, as it should. The problem, though, is that CoH shouldn't be running as an Administrator, it's just that this is still a game designed in the world of XP, where everyone was an Administrator with unlimited system access at all times.
  21. I don't believe there's a flag you can give the US updater to switch to EU.

    Just download the EU Updater. You can speed it up using the Test Server trick (start the EU updater, close it, delete the .checksum file(s), then copy the piggs folder from the US client to the EU client, then once that's done run the EU updater again).
  22. It sounds like you're trying to use the US (NA) client to log into an EU account. The client for NA and EU accounts are different. You'd need to install the EU client to be able to login on an EU account.

  25. Another OEM to look at is Asus. They make pretty good netbooks (really being the ones to largely kick off the market with the eee pc), and their higher end notebooks also avoid fairly well at become those semi-portable desktops-with-a-battery style systems.
