Returning player

hey, Ive been away from City of Heroes/Villains for a couple of years now, mostly playing warhammer online and i felt like getting back into this game, especially with Going Rogue coming out soon.

I was jus wondering, as i'm going to start new characters etc which server to start on - Defiant or Union. Which ahs the most active friendly community in it - for both hero side and villains, as i'm coming back practicly a beginner, i've totally forgotten how to play the game lol

Both Defiant and Union are around the same population from what I've heard (I don't play on the EU servers ). You might wanna check out Paragon Wiki's Issues listing and see what new stuff/changes have been made since you were gone.

I went to WAR for a while too, fun game though the endgame is so laggy it was nearly unplayable for me.

I'd recommend you try the server forums and see which suits you better there, most servers have slightly different 'flavors' to them.

Union is generally considered to have a slightly larger population than Defiant, although the difference is not huge. Both communities are friendly and both are active, although you will want to join the global channels for whichever server you pick to really find most of the action.

Union is somewhat the unofficial RP server, although you will also find RP on Defiant and lots of not-RP on Union.

Personally, I have alts on both, and I'd recommend trying them both to see which one you end up preferring. (If you don't enjoy both, that is ))

I'm a returning player too - I'd wrote an entry for my blog reminiscing over some of the good times playing COH, and then promptly decided to get back onto it!

Sadly, all my previous chars were on the US servers so I have to roll up some new ones. Although thats not too much of a hardship..!
