Question: Would your dopplegangers also have the abilities to summon dopplegangers? If so... DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
(either way it sounds awesome, but I want some exponential growth)
-
Even before Freedom, I had... probably a grand total of one legitimate email sent to me... in all those years. I know a few other people have said they used it before, but those were very few, and very far in-between.
-
That seems a bit... overpowered...
It might be interesting, down the line after the origin power pools, but at the same time isn't that what the Kheldian ATs are supposed to be for? -
Battle axe, broadsword, claws, dual blades, katana/ninja blade, spines, staff fighting, titan weapons, war mace, beam rifle, assault rifle, archery, dual pistols?
-
Can a single card not be associated with two master accounts? I thought it could be (I might be mistaken/out of date, though).
Edit: Aggelakis definitely has the right answer if you can't. -
Quote:This was why: Because it was designed to not cause redraw ever.Depending if you're using a weapon or not among other things. Notice it can be a "kick" on some characters.
I always kind of wanted the fire-hands animation for Breath of Fire in Fire Melee.
BaBs (pretty sure it was him) wasn't talking about the alternating left/right animation (although, that might factor into it, but he didn't mention that aspect). I'd certainly like to see this... especially if you can turn different animations off/on, and it'll randomly play from those... assuming there's more than 2 options (is there none?)

Sounds sort of like it was denied UAC permission to install in a location your user doesn't have (at least unelevated) write access to... maybe running as a standard user with UAC off, even?
-
Since no body actually uses mail for communicating (at least I don't
), what I did was simply mail my global... and now whenever I wanna send stuff to myself, I just hit 'reply' and attach it... simple and quick!
-
Last I heard, the Devs were wanting to remove all those multi-click glowies for exact that reason: impossible to do solo (well, you could dual box, but then is the question of the definition of "solo"...
).
If there's still any left in the game, definitely bug it! (Task Forces/Trials are the only exception, and even then there's only 1 I know of) -
[Sexy] Jay's Costume Request Thread would be a better place.
-
I ran it a few weeks ago and it was the whole team (my doppelganger caused us to wipe
).

I assume you won't be tethering to a phone, but will be getting some base station like device instead?
I've tried it with a prior Android phone and... it was a horrible experience (mind you, my alternative was AT&T, which was simply completely out huge amounts of the time). I'd blame the phone in that case, as it was a horrible phone, but I'd still be very hesitant to trust 3G/4G for all my internet-ing needs. Then again, AT&T sucks so bad that it might just be the better option... -
1.) Good amount of RAM, good processor, and (I believe) quite a high end AMD video card (nVidia tends to be more stable with CoH, though)
2.) Good amount of RAM, an SSD (major plus, although not familiar with that specific model, and some SSDs can be junk), and a good processor. No dedicated graphics, so it will only run CoH well on low settings (don't even think about ultra mode) unless you also buy a video card separately.
3.) Good RAM, good processor... and none of the rest looks noteable. Also no dedicated graphics.
Of the three, only the first one would allow you to get a good experience out of CoH without buying an extra video card. Intel's HD 3000 graphics (might be 2000!) blow away every previous Intel graphics solution... but that still leaves Intel at the bottom of the heap because their previous stuff sucked so badly.

Quote:The exact line depends on how much data you have, and how large of an SSD you can afford. Putting the OS on it is a definite, and then the apps you commonly use (or at least the more intense ones), and then whatever data you have that can fit that you need very high r/w speed to (your mp3 collection / saved videos would be an example of stuff that would be better suited to the better $:GB ratio of HDDs).If I did a SSD+HDD configuration, I would want the SSD to be the boot drive, presumably.
And let me tell you... upgrading a system from a spinning rust bucket to a solid state drive... is by far the biggest upgrade you can do for virtually any computer. -
Sounds like the ITF when it was first added. Other than the zone itself, and the "radio" missions there, it was the only content with those maps and Cimeroras / Cimeroran Traitors. Plus, it had the unique costume items associated with it
A lot of the TFs/Trials in the game have unique maps you don't see anywhere else (sometimes even unique tilesets!), and sometimes unique enemies (or at least uncommon) enemies.
Since it'll take a huge amount of work, for not a large return on investment (i.e. can only use them once), it would mean they couldn't get the content out nearly as fast as they do right now... which probably isn't a good thing, because people will play the hell out of it in a matter of hours, making it quickly old hat. -
1.) 16GB is absurd overkill for CoH, and most other games. That doesn't mean overkill isn't nice
RAM is fairly cheap these days, so at the very least it helps future proof you for not too much. If you like dual (or maybe quad+) boxing, 16GB would be quite nice to have.
2.) Raid will improve performance of your slowest part (the spinning rust bucket) some. It'll increase the likelihood of losing all your data due to an HDD failure (since if either fail, all the data is hosed).
An SSD would be FAR better from a performance PoV, but you'll get a lot less space. I'm not sure the cost/the flexibility you can have, but an SSD + HD (not raided) would give you the best of both worlds.
3.) I'm not very familiar with AMD model numbers, but that should have no problem with CoH on very good settings (pretty sure it's a fairly high end card)
4.) They're all the same. I've had high end Creative cards, and integrated "realtek" audio... unless you're investing many hundreds of dollars into your speakers and have a half dozen of 'em... you don't even need to think about it.
Misc: Very good, high end processor. BluRay is entirely dependent on your uses, but I'm personally to the point of shunning all optical media (I <3 my MBA). USB 3.0 is nice to have. Acrobat Reader is a pile of junk (it's also totally free, so calling it a feature is silly
). No comment on the price. It should have zero issue with any of the games you mentioned... likely running a few at the same time!

The "scrappers now suck" comment is in regards to Stalkers getting an amazingly awesome buff. Plus, their ATO proc is also awesome.
-
I'm very disappointed in this thread. I was expecting you to post something awesome he said as an example, but sadly there was none.
-
I'd suggest contacting support about the issue. Seeing as you have BR characters, it should be obvious that you had purchased it at sometime (although if you have the confirmation email for it, that should make things go even faster).
Edit: Do SerialBeggar/Texas Justice's suggestion first. That seems pretty likely to be the case. -
What Forbin said...
Although I do like the idea of an 'Endurance' challenge for a team (/solo), where the idea is to basically see how far you can go before you're defeated (say it's using AE tech and it'll be all okay).

Quote:Then I suggest you follow your own advice. You keep making blind assertions, with nothing even coming close to facts. An intelligent person would either refute with fact or keep his mouth shut.
You're making claims about "oh, it would be easy to do this", when you have ZERO IDEA of the code. You don't have a history of writing code, and you don't know how to write code now (did you do a touch of VB6 years ago and that was it?). Because of all that, you will not appreciate how complicated a modern game engine is (or even an old one). To gain any sort of performance, they have to be a very interconnected beast, which makes changes much harder, as they can (and will) have unforeseen ramifications on any other part of the code base. Modern game engines are filled with dirty hacks to actually be able to perform on current systems (to say nothing of older systems).
Each time anyone tells you "it's not that simple", you simply ignore it, and then repeat what you said again in another thread. That isn't learning, that's spouting.
You also claim you don't need to see the code, because you can see the output... So you're claiming that you can discern how the system works internally via black-box testing... But you're not doing full black-box testing, because you're not actually manipulating the input (you know, all those pigg files... or the network protocol), and only see a limited subset of the output. And, as well, you lack the experience to draw any meaningful conclusions from whatever data you gather. You leap without looking. -
Quote:Hey kid!Because it's the most common, most obvious way of using the term?
Am I implying you're a child? That IS the most common, most obvious way of using the term! With a little thought, you can realize maybe that's not how I'm using it! If you're going to try to immerse your character in the dialog, you need to actually apply a little common sense to it.
(I knew another guy that would always call me "kid"... again, older than him... but he was weird and Chinese... likely more so the weird thing than the Chinese thing) -

Quote:By that logic, you never could before, since the original Villain tutorial took place in Paragon (the Zig, in Bricktown). There is no way to start in the Rogue Isles anymore, as of City of Freedom.
All characters (except epics) start in Ruined Galaxy City for the tutorial, and there you choose whether to become a hero and go to Paragon, or become a villain and go to Etoile.
You can always (except the first time or something) skip the tutorial and choose Paragon/Rogue Isles (Hero/Villain), going straight into it without going through Galaxy. -
I assume that's the power tray at the bottom- likely to set which tray the very bottom one is set to (the default one in the non-expanded form). Any tray can be set to any slot (I thought it was 1-9, though?).
