  1. If Claws/FA can farm so well I have no reason to think TW can't. You'll mostly be at the aggro cap anyway.
  2. And now I'm watching the 'Stare Master' episode again just because I looked up Sweetie Belle's song lol.

I think you're level 2 because of 'My Little Brony Daily' lol.

I don't check it often but I have episodes I see often (2x03 because I relate so much, the Pinkie Sense one because I find it hilarious and the sister one - 2x05 I think with Rarity and Sweetie Belle), and I also have a fav song, from the first or second episode, Pinkie Pie's No Fear.

Haven't seen many fanvids but... This is awesome (yes it's a rickroll but it's so well made).

EDIT: Another fav - Sweetie Belle's take on Fluttershy's lullaby.

Then I guess is all about /ElA, /WP, or /FA... AGAIN!
Then aside /Inv, only /WP fits my concept about really strong ninja. Nothing too flashy on VFX like /EA or /FA.
Nah, it's a fine pairing (although I'd never think of it as a ninja but that's concept )

And you'll probably want to keep Defensive Sweep since it will help your melee def at least until you have enough slots to overcome your end issues and add shenanigans like Weave and IOs (I know I'll keep it on my TW/EA because EA is hell on the blue bar until level 35 - mine's a scrapper so she'll only have Energy Drain at that level, then I can respec out of it and add weave, maneuvers, etc)

Why not just pick another set with uber single target damage and no irritating startup swings and weapon redraw, like Fire Melee. I figured when we were gonna discuss synergy between two powersets it would analyze them entirely, not just skip a power and toss it out of the equation.
Well maybe because TW has a ton of AoE damage, mitigation, secondary effects and a great ST chain? When you chain the three AoEs together it looks like you nuked the mobs. It's a great set whether or not you pick Defensive Sweep.

The set does a lot of things well, it's not like Defensive is a key power with its low damage when you have a defensive secondary and usually you don't get ALL the attacks from any powerset. Skipping DS isn't like skipping FootStomp or Seismic Smash ya know. Also, in the case of typed defense sets, DS has a lethal 'hole' since it only covers melee and smashing.
  6. Or just skip Defensive Sweep like I'll do on my /EA (she's level 10 so it's helping me for now, I'll respec out later) since Defensive does like 5 damage or something and you're better off starting with crushing blow since it has a lower cast time outside momentum and dies better damage plus accepts the achiles proc.
  7. I was on the same boat with my EM/Nin Stalker, happy with the recharge, I have a heal, etc.

Ended up getting Rebirth mostly to help the league in iTrials, although the regen helps me solo the 54 mobs since I'm defense based and even with 100% def to all I can go down in three hits without the regen. I considered Clarion too which may be more suitable to you especially if you run the newer trials.

Yea, I found it funny that the guy was complaining about x6 lol.

At the old difficulty settings it was very doable for many toons to solo at Invincible.

Even at the new ones, my kat/regen started soloing at 0/x3/bosses after lvl 8 but she could be katana/whatever because she only managed that because of insps. My DB/Ela can solo at +1/x4 and probably after 35/38 she will be able to do much better (she's 30, no power sink yet, so I have to use a ton of blues so not a lot of room for other insps). A TW/ELA could easily solo more mobs because of all the AoE dmg+knockdown and the +def power compared to my DB, so it depends a lot on the toon. My IO'ed EM/Nin Stalker would probably be slower than a SO'ed TW/WP at x6 because EM+tons of mobs = watching paint dry.
  9. New Mid's is out!

I made a cheapo build (well except for the two HOs) with decent rech and 51.7% s/l def, 56.2% nrg and 46.3% neg - +hp is not that hot tho.

While I was talking only about the animations (I like FS and KO Blow), I agree with that too, my ss/fire/mu farms like a champ but the set is so boring I'll never level another SS again - was gonna give him a decent build not focused only on permahasten and fire def (so I just use 1 small purple to sofcap and convert the rest to reds) but meh, I have more fun in TFs and stuff with other toons. The SS/Fire only started being fun to play at 35.
  11. I find MA one of the prettiest sets animation wise. SS is meh except for KO Blow and Footstomp, but anyway, imo they did a terribad job on StJ's sounds.
  12. On another thread Samuel_Tow said it was 400 points for a day before they retired it, maybe they'll reprice it - 400 sounds too expensive since each weapon is 60 for other sets (I think that's what I paid for the Gunslinger guns and the Vanguard blades). 200 points sounds reasonable for the bundle.

This. If the OP knew it was free he should've picked it at the time like I did - was gonna wait 2 months to buy TW with free points but I decided to get it 2 days ago for lil a Xmas treat (btw, this would be a perfect time to reintroduce the weapon pack for some value, after all I bought the powerset just because I spent very little overall on Xmas so it was kind of an impulse buy).

I'd assumed that the weapons would come with my purchase of the set and that a separate pack wouldn't come until later, or that the pack would be included in the purchase. I wouldn't have even known a pack existed if people on the forums hadn't told me.

Secondly, I really wouldn't have minded if you had to have the set in order to buy the pack, provided the pack stayed in the store afterwards for a price. That's not exactly what happened. The pack DID sell for 400 points for at least a day - another friend of mine brought it up, I went to check and there it was, for a price - then it vanished entirely.
I found it as soon as I opened the market, it was right below or above the TW powerset but well doesn't matter now.

I think they might reprice it and that may be the reason it was taken out, 400 points is too much for 4 weapons. A stand alone weapon is 60 points iirc (I think that's what I paid for the gunslinger pistols and the vanguard katana), so 200 points for the pack would be more like it imo.

    Regen Build...

You won't be able to get meaningful resistances on a regen other than slotting up tough and resilience, let alone cap it.

I'd aim for recharge and getting as much s/l def as possible, as well as +hp and some regen.

I suck at regen builds but I put one together just to see what I could do, it's too expensive for what I got - 32.8% s/l def (1 small purple away from the softcap), I know people have managed to get to 45% and still get a bootload of recharge. Anyway although my build is bad compared to what the regen experts do, the general idea is that - defense, recharge and +hp.

Edit: You've gone the right way in Soul Mastery (unlike the build I posted lol), people are using shadow meld as a panic button since it recharges fast, I forgot about that because my regen is only level 20 but since she's katana I'm chasing melee/ranged def so it's a very different build.

How silly of me to assume that the "official" announcement would be, you know, accurate.
Well I didn't actually read the announcement on the pack till later and wasn't even planning on buying TW at the time (as I said, bought it 2 days ago) - I just saw the pack for 0 points in the market and thought 'hey it's free like the whatever badge so I'll grab it'. Only a few hours later I read in the forums it was a limited offer.
  16. Probably technical, they said it will be back soonish with a price tag.

That said, I got the pack for free the day it was released but only bought TW 2 days ago, and have the extra weapons, I told people to grab it even if they weren't planning on buying TW (I wasn't sure I would) just in case...

SS/FA/Mu with Spiritual and some global rech (doesn't even need an absurd amount) is so stupid that I don't even have KO Blow on my +4/x8/bosses farming tray, and I have AoEs up faster than I can click lol.

    The tray is like
    1) Burn
    2) Footstomp
    3) Ball Lightning
    4) E. Fences
    5) Judgement just 'cause it's cool when it's up, not even necessary

Actually I think I just logged out and back, I added that I closed the game because I wasn't sure. Only happened once to me, switching servers didn't work because my BR and TW toons were on different servers and they were all locked switching back and forth but anyway, logging out should solve it if the server switch doesn't.

Granted the chances of the proc firing will be smaller on these other 2 powers, but getting the extra slots for each is not detrimental to the build in any way that i can see, and the enhancements themselves arent expensive at all.
Edit: The extra recharge would have a positive change in the dps of the build, but probably not a huge one. With the 3 st and 3 aoe attacks, you'll not be waiting for something to recharge,my intent is more aimed at keeping momentum up and being able to use the highest dmg attacks as much as possible.
I don't care much about building momentum because Crushing Blow and def sweep only have a 2-2.2 sec cast time so it's fast anyway and I have momentum up most of the time, even on the 50 tw/regen I have on beta - I never saw why people complain so much about losing it or that the set feels slow, since it's easy and fast to get it again, guess too many are used to play dark melee or katana and never played Energy Melee, also known as the corpse blasting set lol.

Another FF proc in Titan Sweep might be a good idea tho since it recharges quickly, my slotting went for max recharge on the power, not that needed.

Titan Sweep has a 1.429 dmg scale and Whirling Smash has 1.405, Footstomp has 1.42 (tanker values). But WS outdamages both of them if the 85% chance for DoT goes off - the DoT doesn't crit so TS crits do a bit more on a Scrapper, but WS has a huge radius and more chances to crit.
  20. Pain should be good too. It's just that Pain's only debuff is a -res/-def one (present in several sets including time) and the rest are heals and buffs to dmg and tohit so the only synergy I see with Pain is Sonic Blast or Rad with achilles procs because of -res.

It's a team oriented powerset, the team and self +dmg boost isn't that great except for the rez which gives you +30% and you won't be using all the time. But a good set with any primary if you're into buffing.

I see synergy in Psy/Time the same way I see in my Ice/Time - stacking tons of -recharge (and even more -speed in Ice's case, but Time already has enough of them).
  21. Ft doesn't clear momentum, momentum goes away after 5 secs (or 10 if you use build momentum).

What might be happening to you is that you are queueing FT but momentum wears off before you actually use it, so the power doesn't activate because it greys out when momentum fades. Happened to me a few times, but now I use FT as the first or second attack after momentum when I wanna do ST damage.
  22. I'm finding that leveling my human PB has been a fun experience and plenty viable without Nova. Good ST and AoE with Inner Light up so often even on SOs - I open with Inner, Proton Scatter, Luminous Detonation and then I can two-shot an orange boss with Radiant+Incandescent and use my ST blasts. Since Proton Scatter is up so often even without recharge enhancements and I just got the Solar Flare, I'm thinking about leaving Luminous outta the build later since it's kinda weak and Solar Flare is enough AoE KB and does way more -def and damage than Luminous.

That said, even though in the TFs I ran recently (Posis and Synapse), being the most damaging toon overall killing minions with AoEs and downing bosses fast, I don't think the PB 'bad rep' will improve soon - like my Stalkers, I was always in low priority to get Fortitude on me - the tanker and a def had it on all the time, even tho the Tanker didn't need it because he was 50, so well slotted and had no problem aggroing tons of mobs and surviving.

PBs are very sweet on a team now, I was at a constant 60% damage boost (2 defs, 1 tanker on the team). So while Incandescent Strike does only 10 more damage than Tanker's KO Blow or Seismic Smash at base 50 (168), with 60% damage boost it can get to base 269 at 50, more than Scrapper Concentrated Strike (222) - and that's not counting the fact you can have perma inner light or little downtime with it, which is at least another 30% damage boost most of the time (more on the first ten secs of course).
  23. It was bugged when it was released ingame, now it's fixed, Mids still shows the old value.

One thing that might help a lot with tw, most of the powers have kb or kd, so you could slot a force feedback chance for recharge in all of the aoe attacks, with 5 oblits. I'll try to work up a build when i get my lunch break, though I'm not sure if there is another scrapper primary with 3 PBAoe knockdowns to simulate TW.
Yeah Defensive is not that good on EA because of the lethal 'hole'. I'm using it now but I'll respec out later because mine's a lowbie. Also entropic aura gives +rech, with 5 mobs +22.5%, with 10 +40%. Had to look up because I only have a Stalker past 30 with EA and on Stalkers Entropic is not a taunt aura and gives a fixed 20% recharge bonus.

Anyway the FF proc is good enough on the Footstomp clone imo, I have a high-end SS/Fire Brute and I find one plenty good for him. Plus the other kd powers only have a 5-target cap.

Yeah you're right, Arc has a 5 target cap and is up less often (20 secs), whirling has a 14 sec recharge and hits ten. I put it in the 32 power just because Typhoon doesn't accept KB enhancements. Mine will probably level only when Mid's has TW anyway because I usually play ranged toons I like making EA build tho. Crushing Blow and Rend Armor take the -res proc iirc.

Now if I used a Kinetic Combat set and purples I could improve the build I posted with 1 sec off permahasten when you have 5 foes around you (empty slot in power slice would be another achiless in crushing blow although I'm not sure it's something really needed, maybe it's better on CB than Rend Armor anyway)
