Sounds like trying to flesh out the old Man builds into an AT. Which might be interesting, but I very much doubt enough people would play one for it to be worth any time developing.
On the other hand, now I have a bunch of Vet powers, I might just try running a Power Pool only alt again -
Greater sense of enjoyment? For some people sure.
Realism? I don't think so. Your contact is sending you to save the world and he can't even give you precise directions?
Which doesn't mean I'm necessarily against the idea. I just think it might be better suited to scanner/newspaper missions thematically, to fit more the 'you picked up a tip' kind of feel. Or possibly following one of those Defeat All missions where you're supposed to be beating the location of something out of the bad guys.
(Which might also help cut down on the number of quarrels in-team over how difficult the option should be set, or even if it should be set at all. Join a paper team; assume it's going to be used.)
Perhaps, if we want to get really complicated, allow it for all missions solo, but only some teamed. -
Quote:For the challenge? Which is what I thought you wanted...
No one goes there however because, what's the point in fighting enemies that are far more difficult than your average foe when you can get the same reward at almost no risk from warriors or freaks or other farmable -
At the moment. By next summer, prices will be 10 times that. So, if you expect to make a lot of alts in future, who will be wanting that extra slot, it might pay to plan ahead and stock up now. I've been Trick or Treating purely to set myself up.

This is awesome. Finally, my main can have that totally 'unfazed by anything' saunter he always wanted.

The ability to sidekick was one of the greatest things CoH had going for it, right from the start. SSK has made a good thing even better.

Quote:I started a new hero char and got it to lv 22 and I have no $ for enchancements because apparently lv~20 SO sell for 30K+??? THey need to pt in a way to transfer $ in the game I don't want to farm just to be non gimped.
Also, you don't need to pay Inf for SOs. Run an MA arc and buy them with Tickets. -
I'm Kiken, and I'm an altaholic.
The Twelve Step Program for altitis is simple:
Step One: Create a character
Step Two: Create an alt
Step Three: Create an alt
Step Four: Create an alt
Step Five: Create an alt
Step Six: Create an alt
Step Seven: Create an alt
Step Eight: Create an alt
Step Nine: Create an alt
Step Ten: Create an alt
Step Eleven: Create an alt
Step Twelve: Create an alt
Step Thirteen: Buy more character slots... -
Bah, I suppose you'll be letting women vote in this too.
And poor people.
Democracy just isn't what it used to be -
I still rather like this set. I'm not sure that having the Self Rez at level 28 is such a good idea on a set almost designed for dying , though. Should come much earlier. Tier 4 perhaps, though I'd have to think longer on exactly how things should be shifted around.

Have to agree with GG. I spend my time visiting exactly the same sections of the boards I did before the merge. Only now there are new people posting there to learn the foibles of.
There are some very witty people amongst out colonial cousins. Maybe you should venture out into that vast global forum and try making new friends (as it were)? Think of it as going from Primary to Secondary school. Scary and overwhelming at first, but really rather exciting once you get used to it. -
I thought he looked quite snazzy.
In a certain kind of 'private club' kind of way... -
Although it has been stated by the Devs that the new system doesn't have exact equivalents to the old.

Given that I already use dying as a tactic for some of my Scrappers, I think I could get a lot of fun out of this.
((Well, I say it's a tactic. People I team with may have another word for it))

Working.
Thank you very much for bringing that up
And, when I'm not, edging yet closer to finally getting a Villain to 50. -
Quote:Just to touch on this point, people have had 5 years less to take names.
Most of the worries expressed here seem unfounded and reflexive and do not match what I've experienced under CO's naming system
I, personally, would be incredibly narked to find somebody running around with the same name I've had on my signature player since CoH launched. -
Nana - slice of life drama. With great music.

Quote:I think we are going about this the wrong way. I think we should handle this issue like professional sports teams do.
Here's what we do. We sit the NA and EU servers down and we trade Freedom to the EU servers and in return they give us Defiant, Union, and Zukunft.
Everybody wins. They get the highest pop server in the game, and we get rid of Freedom.
So, we trade you three less well known but hard working players for one over-priced, over-hyped and over-egoed one?
You're just trying to get us back for shipping you Bechkham, aren't you? -
One more question.
What happens to the aggro your Tank is holding for the team when he's getting knocked flying where he never was before? -
Another point about non-unique names is that, for no fault of their own, people with one of the more popular ones may well find themselves lumped together.
By which I mean:
I team with Drizzt79, who turns out to be an idiot.
I then team with Drizzt21, who unfortunately also turns out to be an idiot.
The next day, I have a chance to team with Drizzt34 (who is actually an excellent player and all round good egg) but pass because of the association in my head with the others of the same name. -
I don't slot IOs until 30 (ie, from level 27). Except maybe for things like KO protection on squishies or Procs.
But that's because I don't pay for DOs or SOs since AE. When I need fresh ones, I just go do an MA arc or two and buy them with tickets. With maybe the odd recipe roll to see if I can add to the Inf I'm saving up.
