My bad. As soon as I typed that in, I thought, "wait, I've seen pics here before...."

Look in the upper left corner. There should be a button labeled "User CP". Click that. When that page finishes loading, there should be a link called "Edit Avatar" on the left side of the screen. Click that.

From there, you can upload a picture from your hard drive. It has to meet the requirements (certain file formats, size, etc.), but that's pretty much it.

With the pictures in the posts, that's almost certainly linked images in the signature file. To the best of my knowledge, these forums don't allow you to post images directly in your posts, but do allow them in the signatures.

Yeah... I want the Tuxedo jacket (with sleeves) with the jumbo oversized Steampunk gloves, but noooooooo.....

What the heck? Any clipping will be completely hidden by the gloves.
  4. Considering that I just got a purple drop on a level 47 minion (which was even con to me), yes, you should be able to get purples on level 49 minions. I also immediately sold it for 50 million inf.
  5. So, has anyone tried soloing missions set to maximums? (as a team of eight, plus four levels, with bosses, and AVs activated)
  6. A new secondary power-set for Blasters. They have the least number of choices for secondaries out there. (Yes, yes, I know, Masterminds have less Primary power-sets then Blasters have secondaries, but unless they're going to add clowns as a Mastermind primary power-set, I can't think of what else they could add.)

Nah, I don't think they'd ever add anything like that to the game. Thbat would be silly.
I'm talking about in addition to day jobs, weisenheimer. And as a permanent bonus, not one that goes away after, at most, a couple hours.
  8. I'm against raising the level cap. I'm having enough to do just to get to 50th.

Plus, look at WoW. They've raised the level cap twice, and they've had to almost constantly rebalance and tweak practically every spell and ability in the game, multiple times, due to the raised level caps in Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. And you can bet they'll have to do it again and again and oops, one more time (forgot the pally nerf) for Cataclysm.

Now, there's supposed to be some sort of alternate advancement possibilities in Going Rogue. What are they going to be? Who knows?

I'll tell you what I'd like to see in Going Rogue though.... (you know, besides Dual Pistols, which I am looking forward to).

Alternate advancement options that allow you to unlock costume parts for your account, not just the character you're on. (Just the costume parts, not any badges or accolades). As an example, let's say you've long since defeated 200 Council on an AR blaster, which unlocks the Council SMG. Well, fulfilling an alternate advancement option allows you to unlock all the costume parts, account wide, that defeating 200 Council would get you, like the Ascendant shields.

Likewise, you wouldn't have to wait months for a specific event to roll around to unlock holiday costume parts on a new character.

Or how about an alternate advancement option that allows you to unlock bonuses? Like a SG based one that gives you an additional percentage of Prestige? Or that opens up new SG base parts, or costume options that aren't previously available?

    anyway, just my $0.02

You could re-write the story so the children are fans of "Twilight" and you have to stop them from making a horrible literary choice.

I haven't had too many problems with Against All Odds... the big advantage from it is that it's +DMG to you, and -DMG to the bad guys. Unfortunately, it's the only taunt aura for Tankers that cannot slot ANY sets. Yeah, you can (and should) drop a Taunt Enhancement (or two) in there, considering that every other taunt aura can slot at least one set, even if it's not a Taunt set....

Frankly, I couldn't see playing any sort of Tanker without the taunt aura power from the primary and Taunt from the secondary power sets, but I look at the Taunt power as more of an "oh crap, the mob is beating on the healer" kind of use. Although, to be honest, seeing as how I either Shield Charge or Foot Stomp within a few seconds of running up to a cluster of mobs, holding aggro usually isn't a problem.

The problem doesn't lie with the people who would follow the rules if they are spelled out.

The problem lies with the people who either think the rules don't apply to them for whatever reason, or who want to argue endlessly that their costume/bio/character/whatever is not, in fact, a violation of the rules. Also, you have to realize, only a small percentage of the player-base every reads these forums.

Yes, it would be nice if a red-name posted the rules and/or guidelines that the GMs work by when determining whether a particular case would be a IP infringement issue. But I suspect that it varies by GM, some being more strict then others when it comes to such things. As such, there probably are no hard and fast rules where "so much" isn't a IP violation, and "just a little bit more" is.
  12. According to the paragonwiki entry (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Force_Fe...or_%2BRecharge), it can have a chance to activate off of every target in an AOE. However, it does not stack with itself. So, while an AOE is the best place to put it, if for no other reason then increasing the overall chance it will proc, you can't have it stack multiple times off of one AOE.
  13. I just want to point that there tends to be observation bias, in that you tend to notice when things go badly over when things go well.

That is to say, if you're chugging along through a mission and don't have any problems with any of the mobs, you're never going to really notice it. Yeah, you might think "hey, that mission was easy", but that's about it.

When a mission goes badly, however, you remember it. You remember the string of six misses in a row, or the fight where you couldn't lock down the AV at all.

Also, most people don't take into account that they're not collecting enough data. Sure, if you miss a few times in a row with your long recharge power, you remember that, but it's only a couple of points of data. Collect a couple hundred points of data and then you can see if your powers are missing more often then they should be.

  15. Hrm. It's possible that the information is bugged.

I'm not at home so I can't check (alas, stuck at work for the next six hours), but the Red Tomax site (http://www.redtomax.com/data/powers/...sionic_Assault) says that at level 28, Mental Blast should be 24.67 Psionic damage on a 4 second recharge, and Subdue should be 40.46 damage on a 8 second recharge.

I can't tell you why the numbers are off on the detailed info. *shrug*
  16. Uh... you can't actually get those powers until levels 10 (Mental Blast) and 28 (Subdue), so I would suspect that the numbers you're getting are calculated incorrectly. Are you using the "real numbers" dropdown in the power selection screen? If so, move the slider up to level 28 and then see what the powers damage and such is.

Also, Mental Blast for Dominator should have a Recharge of 4 seconds (going off of the stats on the Red Tomax site), so you're getting one incorrect number no matter what.

  18. I'd love a 2x Merit weekend. I can't seem to get any rare recipe drops that I want (seriously, RNG, I don't want any part of the Malaise's Illusions set any more0, and I can't afford the ones I want on Wentworth's.

    5th costume

Yeah, right now, the pieces for it are running several hundred thousand (if not more) Inf, for each piece. Whereas if you can manage to hold on until the Halloween event, you can probably get all of the pieces yourself... or if not, they'll be cheaper once the market is flooded again.

  21. Technically, yes, if you made a character named Thor(something) and it was sufficiently different in costume, appearance, and powers (say, a Plant/Thermal Radiation Controller, or something odd like that), then you would stand a good chance of appealing any possible genericizing of your character.

In reality, you're probably better naming your character something different. And there are enough comic book geeks playing CoX (yeah, I know, what a shock) that even if you pick a particularly obscure character, it will almost certainly get noticed and reported. (Not to mention the idiot who practically copied Marvel Comics' "The Vision" and whinged about it being reported.)
  22. Okay, so the mission where Tina sends you to the Banished Pantheon world to rescue people, there's indications you have to fight Adamastor. Now, I know when he appears in Dark Astoria, he's a Giant Monster...

Is it possible for a tanker to solo him in the mission, however?

Hrm. I took Grant Cover on my SD/SS tanker because even though I don't group a lot, the bonus Defense is nice for my team-mates when they are in range. (Which, during Rikti Invasions and on certain mapboards, is almost always.)

Grant Cover is one of those powers where it's awesome when you're teaming up and in an enclosed space, like several warehouse maps, most office buildings, etc. It doesn't shine as much in open areas, but hey... you can't have everything. Plus, it's an amazing level of Defense for your team for the amazingly little Endurance cost it has.

Plus, you're forgetting the synergy with Phalanx Fighting. Yeah, your team-mates have to be exceptionally close to where you are, but if they are....
