This build does not include tough or weave but it is at the softcap. i really could not figure a build to include them. the only draw back is that i do not have taunt in this build and i am not really sure how to include it while maintaining the build at softcap. any adive is most welcome.

Export options: phpBB / Zetaboards

You can drop Grant Cover for Taunt. Rarely is anyone your group going to be in range to get the buff and I'm not really willing to say the 17.3% defense debuff resistance is worth the extra toggle.

You could try something like this:

(By the way, this is Zetaboards export, color scheme Fruit Salad... the default Navy is hard to read on the hero skin)

You must have one heck of a crystal ball.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Hrm. I took Grant Cover on my SD/SS tanker because even though I don't group a lot, the bonus Defense is nice for my team-mates when they are in range. (Which, during Rikti Invasions and on certain mapboards, is almost always.)

Grant Cover is one of those powers where it's awesome when you're teaming up and in an enclosed space, like several warehouse maps, most office buildings, etc. It doesn't shine as much in open areas, but hey... you can't have everything. Plus, it's an amazing level of Defense for your team for the amazingly little Endurance cost it has.

Plus, you're forgetting the synergy with Phalanx Fighting. Yeah, your team-mates have to be exceptionally close to where you are, but if they are....

How well do Lightning Rod and Shield Charge work together? Was thinking about a SD/Elec once it goes live just for this combo, but I am wondering if two teleports is just overkill or not.

Posted

I reckon overkill in the sense of doing both at the same time. But when I play my SD scrapper I love to use Shield Charge and almost kill a spawn, but then the next one I'm plinking at them.

With a SD/Elec we can Shield Charge one spawn and Lightning Rod the next. Still not quite the same because we won't have BU for both, but good once joining the rest of the AoEs for the non BUed Lightning Rod.

I take PF regardless of whether someones going to be in melee with me or not because, let's face it, a flat 5% auto defense increase to all positions is too good to pass up. The fact that it scales when someone does happen to be in range is just icing on the cake for me.
