The landscape is boring, and its 4 miles long. I see nothing to love about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

More than once, IP has made me avoid taking my cape mission on heroside, since I know I have to swim all the way up to the corner to talk to that one contact and then aaaall the way back to the tram.

It's especially fun when I put travel off to post-20.
  2. Never much liked Croatoa.

"Okay, so I've saved the city from cybernetic gangsters, flying mercenaries, and evil wizards from the dawn of time! What's next?"
"Pumpkins, lawn gnomes, and bipedal mooses."
    "..........."
I want to rename it Goofy Halloween Land.

Villainside, it's Grandville. A pain in the butt to navigate, covered with turrets and bane spiders, and it looks goofy as hell to boot (yes, we get it, Recluse. You like spiders.) But keep the Fab, though. The Fab is cool.

It's a lagfest. I don't quite understand it but the kids apparently love it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except it's not a lagfest for everyone. Certainly not for me. It's fast paced, fun and exciting. I don't have a top of the line machine, but I do spend a bit here and there to upgrade it from time to time. That's all it takes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In some of the busier zones you'll get server-side lag which has nothing to do with end users' computers. I noticed it in Cap Au on Friday and Saturday (to the point I just didn't go to invasions there) but didn't see too much in the other zones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Happens quite often in the raids on Virtue. High framerate, tiny green netgraph... and my powers take three times as long as normal to recharge and the only way to tell if they're up is to read the combat spam. Rikti raids with 1-2 teams together are fun. Raids with much more are 'put a PBAoE attack on auto and go do something else for 10 minutes.'
  4. I prefer Like A Koala Bear Crapped A Rainbow In My Brain.

I'm personally calling it Whoa, Soloing Isn't Boring Now?
  5. [u]Existing Characters[u]
Energy/Energy blaster->All white powers in both pools, since she's basically a walking portal to a plane of pure energy.

/Energy Brute->Anything but the Orange Disco Egg Armor she has now. Probably white or blue.

    [u]New Characters[u]
Black Ice Blast->Throwing shards of obsidian.
Brown/Green Fire/ Blast->Pollution attacks! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, CAPTAIN PLANET. (I've been waiting on this one for years.)
  6. Oil Slick Arrow->Flamethrower

    The attack chain of kings.
  7. You mean my characters can now spawn more than about three enemies per group solo?

Holy [censored]. I'll actually be able to tolerate soloing.
ISSUE 16: Things Kel Didn't Think Were Possible

Just as long as PUGs don't switch over to 'WE MUST FIGHT INVINCIBLE +6S. AGH WE DIED NEED MORE HEALXX0RZ!!!'
  8. Yeah, Warriors' main 'criminal activity' being getting their lunch money stolen was a long-running joke in my old SG.

Personally I'd like to see AE shut down for.. ahem... Maintenance during double XP.. I'd get a laugh at all the "you mean I need to go OUTSIDE??" comments.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I was reading I was thinking, 'I really don't care whether it gets 2xp." But this would be hilarious.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much this. Though it means that joining PUGs would practically be suicidal during that weekend.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I like this idea. Seems easy to implement. A custom group would be considered invalid to use until a Minion class was added. Then the game could automatically weight it so there are more minions than bosses.

    I like it, I think it's a strong idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If would be very problematic if you want a single custom AV/EB for an arc that otherwise uses normal enemies. Not to mention that implementing this now would invalidate zillions of arcs (not that that's anything particularly new).
  11. I love it. Just respecced my dom out of her old purple sleep set that I'd been using for the recharge bonus, only to find that it was now worth about ten times what I originally paid for it.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I know not the ways of programming, but I am fairly confident this would be an Epic Pain in the Buttocks to create. The most you might be able to ask for is Inf, though I would love to see a Day Job bar for each character.

You're second request...Confuses me. I am probably reading it totally wrong, because it sounds really dumb. Elaborate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think he's asking for the ability to see your other characters' inventories and such while logged in. Either that or he doesn't know about the ability to constantly display your influence with the combat monitor. One of the two.
  13. On the roleplay end of things, check out Pocket D, if you haven't been introduced to it yet. Entrances are in Kings Row, Talos, and Founder's Falls for heroes, Port Oakes, Sharkhead, and St. Martial for villains. It's where a lot of the RP on Virtue takes place nowdays.

    The CoX community?

    Organize?

    You're out of your mind.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The trick is to set it up into two factions. Once we get into the "aaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeee111112People who begin their posts with eeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa2221 are ruining the forums!" versus "eeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa2221People who begin their posts with aaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeee111112 are ruining the forums!" fights, it will keep itself going for months.

I base my disagreement with this on the fact that a few hours ago I listed a peice of salvage for 1 influence and received 535,000 for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I listed a stack of 5 common techs for 1 inf last night and sold them instantly for over 800k.

Darn those manipulators for forcing me to take their filthy money!

    =(

    [/ QUOTE ]

They kept buying my level 50 uncommon set IOs for 3x my asking price. ... after I'd been providing a few dozen a day for a week or two straight.

Damn evil marketeers, raising prices on us like that!

The only solution is to force all sell prices to 5 inf! That'll fix 'em!

Well, the Laurel Building here in Sunny San Diego sits at the top of a hill overlooking Lindberg Field.

It has a clearance of 16 FEET. That's right, planes pass within 16 FEET of the top of this building. Every day.

    [ QUOTE ]

You are wrong. MA missions are being used by the majority to farm and power level. That was not the intent. Reduce the rewards by half and let the MA missions be for story telling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll bold it so maybe you get the point.

Nobody is going to waste their game time on junk that pays out 1/2 rewards

    Except those five RP'ers.

It needs competitive rewards to be useful and the devs know this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe only malformed custom groups could have reward nerfs? Like say, a group with just one enemy in it means you'll get 1/4 XP for defeating them. I doubt this will effect any legitimate players/creators.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But what counts as a malformed group? If I have a group of all electric blast enemies, does it get lower XP because a /elec brute can wade through them 20 deep without getting scratched, even though they could splatter most other characters? If you say yes because that would make them potentially farmable, does that mean that you lose XP for making a Winter Horde story arc, since that group is mostly cold damage? It's a very hard thing to define in a way that won't just lead to people gaming the system or normal arcs having penalties.

I believe I have seen it stated in the past that they will not allow turning off the power effects. Having them display is important to allow your opponents to see what you are doing. Since I don't play PvP, this seems rather pointless, but if you play PvP, I can see where it would be vital.

I will be at least somewhat happier if I can at least tint them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    PVP NERFED POWER CUSTOMIZATION

Can't believe I got to that first.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
My current experiment (besides playing around with the change to Doms) is to try to find some iteration of Electric Blast that I can really want to play. It's been challenging, and nothing has gone above about level 14ish so far.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pair it with /elec. The two complement each other in all ways awesomely. /elec helps with the drains quite a bit and its punches are hard-hitting to make up for the ST attacks in your primary. You'll still be a little lacking for AoE damage, but you can take all the time you want to kill those enemies once Power Sink + Short Circuit has sapped them all to 0 in the first few seconds of the fight.
  22. I'm not talking about people who just want rads... since my rad/rad defender is one of my favorite 50s, I'm rather fond of them, myself. I'm talking the people who go 'We're going to try fighting an AV without a rad/?!' Teamed with a few of those lately.

At least it's a nice change of pace from healx0rz, I suppose.

Dominators and Stalkers are the least played Red side IMO because they both have limitations in a team atmosphere (or at least perceived ones). Brutes and Masterminds are a dime a dozen.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually they're rarer because traditionally they sucked . Both ATs were visibly underpowered compared to their peers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or maybe people just couldn't recognize the utility of knocking 16 enemies out of every fight with Stalagmites/Flashfire/Seeds...
  24. [ QUOTE ]
No team wipes because of one, two or even seven players out of eight ; the only one responsible for your own death is yourself, and using newbies as a scapegoat won't change that fact.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, if you go to tank Recluse on the STF and the Defender is too stupid/inexperienced to understand 'go keep the tank alive' after repeated explanation and instead ends up charging into an unrelated group of Arachnos mobs alone, it's totally your fault when you die to him.
