So why limit one base to heroes and another base to villains?

With the new hacked teleporters, there is now ample room for a base to provide access to both red and blue side. If a character is of the wrong alignment to access a zone then those teleporters should just not allow them access. This would in my opinion be a huge QL improvement, having access to the base that I helped build no matter what side I was currently running would greatly improve the utility of bases.

If a particular SG wants to be a villain-only group......let them only invite villains and only put up villain teleporters.

    So.....what do you think?
Aside from the base defense items horribly destroying the villains that wandered into the hero base?

Serious answer: I can only see this working if an already-existing member has moved to the opposite alignment, so they could use most of the amenities. But otherwise, I still don't think it makes much sense.

I'd swap that slotting, personally. QR gives more recovery than Stamina.

    Staff Builds

For my Staff/SR I'm planning on Agility because she's a brute, or else I'd go Musculature/Masculation.
  5. For me personally, if the set has an inherent TAoE instead of PBAoE, it'll go in there (ala Spinning Strike). The reason for this is it's either Posi's or...

    Well...

    Um...

Nothing really lol. At least for me who in no way shape or form is able or willing to invest in purples.

A is the option I have to take right now.
  8. My friend and I are both such base-building nerds that our personal SG has a dedicated living wing. Little cubicles with a bed and a desk, a more open den area, the restroom door wall option nearby, that kind of thing.

Cool. Good for you, that's impressive. It's also not how I choose to play.

I'm not trying to get into a "I can solo better than you!" contest. I'm just pointing out that your assertion about adding defense to Resistance-based sets "not working" is false. It works fine.

It works just fine. My SS/Elec brute has only 33-34% Defense to S/L and between Energize only having a 10 second downtime and Powersink to suck spawns dry, he can regularly solo through +1/x6 content. I'm going to try bumping it up to x7 or +2 this afternoon.

My difficulty is still +0/x1 -.- Really thinking about rerolling because the damage doesn't seem bad but it's like shields are turned off and I'm constantly starving for end.

The Spines/Ice Stalker I made, however, is destroying everything. The only time I have a bit of trouble is against E/N damage since I'm only 26 and haven't gotten the shield yet.

Both characters have a full set of ATO's, Perf +10 end and the steadfast def.
The culprit here is StJ/ I think, not /EA. Are your attacks well-slotted for end reduction? Are you regularly using your AoE Finisher(s) in ST chains? Either of those things can cause StJ toons to burn through their endurance like mad.

Oh look, it's this argument again.

Serious answer: if you think Brutes are that much better, play Brutes. Problem solved, everyone happy.
  14. To be honest, I think I'd be fine with either A) a smaller damage buff or B) ONLY affecting Super Strength attacks. My SS/Elec brute probably wouldn't notice either way since he has Fury anyway, and Scrappers... hell, they wouldn't notice, would they, if they didn't have the broken* Rage to compare it to?

    Just my two cents.

*I feel it's broken, and it's the main reason I don't play my SS brute very often. It's just Rage boosting a lackluster attack chain and patron powers, plus one overhyped AoE.

Oh, and once mids is updated i am probably going to make a dark/dark guide, So i need all the info i can get for different play-styles ya?
Maybe I'm too timid, but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with only a single slot in a hold...

Also, is Hasten recommended for this set, or does Entropic do the job well enough?
I took Body Mastery because i'm a huge sucker for theme, and none of the other APP or PPPs really match with raw energy (not electricity or fire).

Hasten would probably be good, but I can't stand the orange flames. If I could color-change it, I'd probably get it.
  17. That bad, huh? I'll see if I can make a new one...

    And it is delicious.

For the record, I'd rather keep FS on brutes and tankers only, but that's just me. For scraps, I have StJ to satisfy my smashy needs.

I just wish Spinning Strike was A) bigger and B) PBAoE not TAoE.
  19. So I've had an older KM/EA scrap collecting dust at 31, and I finally worked up the gumption to power through four levels, to get both Concentrated Strike and Energy Drain.

    Holy crap. What a difference!

This is my planned build for her once she hits 50. I have a few caveats/questions:

    1. No Hasten. Please. Until we can customize Pool powers so I have something besides the orange glow, I don't want to use it.
    2. I'd prefer Body Mastery for my APP/PPP. I can't rationalize any other pool, since I want her to stay themed, and lightning, fire or ice aren't very good fits.
    3. I have literally no idea what to do for any of her incarnate slots. I was kind of leaning towards Musculature (since EA needs no end management and has some native +Recharge), but any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
    4. Pretty much all the slots are negotiable. The blank slots in Quick Strike are for the ATO set, as I don't know where it would fit best to slap those in.
Other than that, thanks for giving this a look! I can't wait to level her more tomorrow, after some sleep.

Over and over (on my thirteenth try... maybe lucky?) it will get to 99% patching, then encounter an error and quit. Then, when I try to repair, it will redo it up to that point, then hit the same exact error and do it again. Here's the error...

Any ideas? I'm really bummed about this, I was hoping to play after work.
  24. I'd be okay with the Bushido idea, but i'd prefer getting Broadsword buffed a bit as, imo, it's much less attractive than Katana AND TW now that the latter is out (not going to open that can of worms again).

I would prefer over both getting Ice Armor for scrappers.

And Ice Melee, because that would mean getting it buffed to the nines beforehand.

QR should be almost enough. Just make sure you slot decent end redux in all the attacks, and maybe get the Miracle proc at some point. My TW/WP is only having end problems because she JUST got the 32 attack and hasn't slotted it yet, and it's a beefy 18 endurance before you reduce it.
