  1. The point on what I tried to say, and wasnt understood is:

Things Change, but anyone can still run what they want the way they want. Just dont expect everyone else to do as you want.

You could assemble a team without I-stuff slotted. Nothing is stopping you from running old-school runs. But dont force it on everyone else. If most people dont want to do as you want, let then be.

    Things Change.

When I got the game, I paid for CoH. Then I paid for CoV. Then, some time later, when you got one you received the other freely. I didnt complained and made a fuss about it. I just accepted that things changed and moved on. At least I had the satisfaction of playing both while some were playing only one (no matter how selfish was that feeling).

Its exactly the same thing here. We all got our badges before I-Stuff. Now people are getting the same badges easily than we did. I dont care. I got mine before, and knowing that is enough satisfaction for me. Things changed and I moved on.

You say that Master Runs should be difficult. Well, we CAN make then difficult even with the I-Stuff. We control settings that never were used before. Its all on our hands to make it as difficult as we want.

I see a great advantage on the I-Stuff on regular content (and yes, master runs are regular content). There is now more room for experimentation. You dont have to keep on cookie-teams. You can try amazing combinations on teams.

The core on this discussion is just this: We are annoyed that others wont suffer as we suffered to get those pesky badges. We are angry that our victories seens diminished because others now do things different ways than ours. We should be ashamed of ourselves. We ARE the old men on the window, shouting to the kids to get out of our lawns.

    Capisce?
  2. Disabling the Incarnate during regular content would be a shot in the foot for the game.

The game is thriving on it. People are enjoying it. Acting like hardcore Holier-than-you is the kind of thing that aggravates people, both old and new.

We who have our Mo's can be proud of it. But by the same token, be ashamed of diminishing any who dont thing/play like we do. We sound like old cranks, cursing the kids playing in the street.

Think the Masters are easy now? Adapt. Evolve. You can set difficult. You can activate persistent Player Debuffs and NPCs Buffs. When was the last time you touched those settings? If you want to feel special and better than the others, use then. At least you should have conquered something without breaking things for the others.

Now get of my lawn, stupid kids!
  3. I posted it on FB, but let me say this here too...

Keep the Master as it is. Its a legacy, a representative of some care on running the TFs.

Create new badges, for those that run at +4 and No Temps. An Incarnate Difficulty, if you prefer.
My preference would be something that makes reference to the name of the Arc, not the contact. Few people actually know that the ITF is named Time's Arrow.
And make the incarnate threads drop on the Incarnate difficulty. Maybe offer an Astral Merit as a reward on the end of the TF.

Make the whole level 50 content shine with the Incarnate content, and not only make the Incarnate content the new shinny.
  4. I play one or two hours per night, when I have the chance to play (RL tends to get in the way sometimes... those pesky BFs!).

Right before I20 I finished Tier 4 on two alphas. And have some 3 others unlocked and slotted at tier 1.

Since I20 started I played only one incarnate toon, and got her to Interface 3 (x2, preparing for Interface 4), Judgement 3, Lore 2 and Destiny 1.
    I also leveled a bit two non-fiddies... one from 25 to 29, one from 35 to 40.

That assuming 2 hours per night. A little more on the weekend, but some days on the middle of the week i didnt connected...

It feels to me that its faster than Alpha.
  5. Hmmm...

As Magical (my main, troller Grav/Rad/Energy) is Judgement 3, Interface 3, Lore 2 and Destiny 1, I think i should start developing one of the other Fiddies too...

How about Mindfire? PSI/Fire/Fire blaster... she could be usefull on those runs...
  6. *pounces Kinrad*
    Meeep!
*paints him Bright Orange so he cant hide anymore*
  7. Me! Me! Me! Pick Me!

    Magical Nova. Grav+Rad Troller.
  8. If I was Queen of Paragon Studio:

Customization for Granite Armor. No longer one Granite should be identical to the other.

If I was Queen of NCSOFT:

No more regional IP BLOCK for the South America.
  9. Ok.... who let Pepsiman get inside the servers room?

He probably gnawed all the cables!
  10. Always ready for non-WTFs!

Well... on the Isles things are a bit harder...
Until recently there wasnt Empaths there...

I guess Arachnoss did a purge, killing all the handicapped they could find...

    Free will? Bahh...

There goes Generic Wheelchair-user on the street, minding his own business...
An Empath flies by, points her hand, and with a green flash Generic Wheelchair-user turns into Generic Walking Citizen.
With the same free will everyone gets when a Kin goes around sneak-boosting people...

    Right to the point!

When I want to team, I advertise this on the globals:

I am going to play X-side, level range Y. All are welcome to join, high or low.

Normally i have a team running fast...

Usually only prolonged periods of downtime (beyond the end of a current IP lease, which in ISPs' cases,is usually 24 hours or more) will result in the issuing of a new IP address.

I've been on the same public IP address for weeks now. With multiple system reboots in that time.
It all depends on your ISP.
I am on cable. And my IP changes every 2-3 days.

I still like Claws/ though. Finally deleted a few weeks ago, when I was reorganising my character list.

So what was the first character you ever made in CoH, and do you still play them?

(The inspiration for this thread was me musing about the number of brand new no-vet badge players I see running Dominators, which strike me as the most newbie-unfriendly AT of them all, given how relatively complex they are to play.)
My very first character was the first Kay Nova... She was a blaster energy/energy. Never got higher than level 10. Costume was a red bathing suit. She was reborn as a defender... Dark/Archery.
The second character, Life Nova, became my first 50. Empath/Psi defender. She used a oriental-style costume (martial arts robe).
  23. I would like to thank a very dear friend for helping me on this.

Somehow I couldnt download that file. But he got it. Probably was an antivirus or somekind of defense thing.

And thanks for Besty and Zwill for helping! You guys are the best!

Browsers say they cant download it.
    IE and Chrome.
  25. My favorite Copyright Violation was about someone using a character named after some kind of famous character, getting generic... then appealing and winning the appeal because... well... he actually was the owner of the copyright...

    Someone remember the details?
