Quote:You used wrong reactive. You should use %50 DoT %25 -res. -res don't stack its effect it only stacks its duration so having it %50 is or higher kinda waste. For DoT its %25 chance for each tick to get damage so even if you hit your target there is only 1/4 chance that you can damage him and since each tick also checks if dsamage continues u have enve less chance to keep that damage going on. %75 DoT on the other hand gives u a constant on-going DPS increase. Again stacks don't add to damage just to duration in DoT's case just how many ticks that damage will go on so if you stack up to 4 DoT you only get like 20-24 ticks (getting %75 of that you will have 15-18 ticks of damage) and anything between will be wasted since it was already stacked to full (i think it starts stacking after all previous stacks depleted i maybe wrong though) thats why when teaming with others or in a league its not suggested to have more than 2 or 3 reactive in the team (or same DoT type since there are more DoT interfaces now) since all reactives from different players stack as same debuff.I have the 50% -res and 25% chance for fire proc and it is surely broken.
The -res seems to just lower the -res once, as in if I hit them for 150 damage and the -res applies, I only hit them for say an increased damage of 160 over and over and over.
Also, I have tested the fire proc REPEATEDLY and I can assure you, it almost never works properly. 1 out of about 15 hits does the fire proc hit more than once. So I will strike, I can see the extra fire damage, and then nothing. Strike, nothing, strike nothing, strike, 1 fire proc, then nothing. VERY RARELY will the fire proc actually tic 3-4 times on the target by itself. Strike, fire proc hit for 11 - 11 - 11 - 11.
To test this fact I used Brawl on bosses and LT's that are even level. Kind of frustrating, I thought reactive would be better. Hopefully they fix it. -
I didn't read most of suggestions in here but I will be using elude in DA. From my old experiences elude is a great single content power since its duration if long and you can time crash between mobs. Its also more like a panic button if I don't get under half of my health I don't use elude and even than I only use it if i am surrounded by a big mob.
It will need a little tweaking in my build to get elude in but nothing major and with new ATO coming in, I can experiment with various possibilities. Also I have enough enhancement modifier to get a little more edge. -
Well someone already said that but its up to you to decide whatever you want to play and if you are enjoying it than you are doing a good job.
But if you are asking for personal opinions;
1) If you are an rper you shouldn't be disregard game world rules. For example on a table top game you don't bring a Mage:the Ascension character to a AD&D second edition game (or a Dragonlance Elf to a Darksun Campaign) or make a character that GM doesn't allow (like an orc paladin in a game where only PHB races are used) so making a game specific race as your own is not a good point especially if there are other choices that you may used for same character.
2) For Darrin Wade I can't talk for sure but just because it looks similiar doesn't mean he is using Warshade powers especially there are alot of darkness concept powers in the game and a few newer ones are coming in.
3) For your points on why not using another AT and color it;
An ally heal : Can be done with medicine pool or rebirth destiny incarnate power.
A defensive focus, but offensive capability: Brute or tankers have this.
both ranged and melee powers, with a melee focus. You can get range powers from epic pools and from judgement incarnate power.
add in a taunt from the presence power pool and you're good to go. Both brutes and Tankers have taunt integrated to their character.
4) Like I said before if you are enjoying your character in the way you are playing than go ahead noone has any right to tell you how to play. -
I didn't read all of posts so if this was mentione sorry. My tactic for alpha changes according to my mood and what i have in inspiration tray.
If i have one blue and one or two luck i eat lucks get on human uses stealth to get in the middle of mob, eclipse, mire, dwarf, mire, human (this is instant) quasar, eat blue, stygian circle, get fluffy's depending on my mood toggle rest on, get dwarf or get nova.
If i dont have enough blue or i am not sure if i can stealth into middle of mob than i get into dwarf walk into middle. mire, punch, punch, mire (i can perma mire in dwarf) cpntinue until there is a couple of corpse, get to human eclipse, depending on mood unchain essence or fluffy, stygian circle, kill the rest.
more unortodox method i use in a corridor is using nova and knocback aoe attack (in corridors they dont kb too much seperated) get in middle human, eclipse, mire, dwarf, mire, punch, punch, mire than same as previous one.
i need to mention i am not using any keybinds and more of a mouse player so i am changing or pressing things with either mouse or buttons (my human form powers are in second tray and in first tray at first 4 is nova and last 6 is dwarf powers and on third tray i have forn changes as well as toggles and some powers that i use more often but have high recharge speed since its easier to reach to third tray with mouse than other two) if i stay too long on human form i change trays (they r next to each other so with just clicking one arrow on each tray is enough to change their places) -
Quote:I don't aggree with first two changes;I would buff SR with the following:
- Make Practiced Brawler a passive with some extra minor +Regen and +Recovery(think Physical Perfection with mez protection).
- Increase Quickness' recharge buff slightly.
- Add a small chance to do Fiery Embrace's damage(which all attacks have but only FE currently activates) to Lucky.
- Add a recharge buff and a minor period of Untouchable upon activation to Elude.
1) Making practice brawler a pasive with on top of +regen and +recory is overkill no other power is that powerful. Maybe making it toggle as its now works better.
2) Nothing in the game gives %20 recharge bonus not even purples so increasing it further is unnecessary
Giving +regen to SR is concept-wise a bad move it doesn't fit with powers concept at all and its something needs to be considered. +Recovery is also same with +regen but would be a little more plausible.
IMO SR needs a change according to its concept like maybe having reducing %5 auto-hit chance (if its possible ofcourse) by a fraction (not much to not make it broken maybe %1 or %2 tops) or providing something totally different like when an attack hits doing less damage (or something else) according to applied defense value against to-hit value so increasing defenses over soft-cap value would benefit for SR which is only set that can go over boards with ease (it would also give a reason to get elude and use it in a tight spot or in an AV fight)
Your third option makes sense but i think it will be better for each toggle (or passive) gives an unehanced to hit buff to all powers (or just primary powers) after all hitting more precisely depends on reflexes too as well as training. Ofcourse it can be a small aditional damage based on melee power set selected too.
I can't say much about fourth option as long as soft cap remains under %70 I don't see much point to use elude in current setting my suggestion above may make a different but even it will be minimal for elude. -
Well it works great on my kat/sr in beta. thanks to it (I was lucky to get six ato ench upgrade so it was superior one) I got a few slots free from my focused fighting to put on various spaces to increase my regen (from 17 hp to 22hp) and could even get combat jumping with only initial slot and give extra's to one of my underslotted attack power and i am still with %46.5 ranged and %47.x for melee and aoe. And I can imagine anyone using DA in katana for buffing up their melee defense it would be a great helpto put a few extra slots somewhere else.

8 Stalkers just because i think it would be fun to think an assassination team sent in the mission :P
-
All this broadsword talking make me want an Iaia katana power set. If you don't know the word which is plausible iai is japenese word for drawing your katana hitting and resheating it with one swift fast movement and cutting through anything it touches :P. It could have slow recharge burst damage powers and fast recharges low damage powers. its effect would be -damage res or maybe a combo build up like current street justice.

Quote:Actually I prefer cash so i can spent it freeliy :P being that said some people may just want a purple to symbolise their victory.Hmm, a good idea. I was actually at first considering making a Gladiator's Armor 3% Defense the first prize, but figured people would rather have the cash to spend freely.
Eh, I dunno. I've never come across anyone trying to trade IRL money for inf so that point is kind of lost on me. I thought the server transfers would be less of an issue than in the past since I gave enough notice that 2 free transfers could be saved preemptively (they stack,) which is what lead me to believe that the prize was simply insufficient. -
Quote:Actually this is not true. Last time I tried to softcap SR with SO's alone it required weave, combat jump and maneuvre all at least 3 slotted with defense including all SR power being 3 slotted with defense SO's it makes a total of 27 slots put on nothing but defense no other bonuses. This makes around 1/4th of actual slots. This also means although you can fit LoTG's in the build somewhere you can't get recharge bonuses from red fortunes. If you can softcap your SR without using defense set bonuses, it means you can focus your slotting on other things, like Regen, recharge, and max HP.
With IO sets on the other hand you can remove either maneuvre or CJ (depending on your play style) from your build (admitedly on defense powers alone there was 31 slots on my old build but they had 5 LoTG recharge and 4 red fortunes to get %5 recharges which makes a total of %57.5 recharge bonus) Thanks to new enhancement boosters however my build got a change now I only need weave from pool powers to softcap my toon with only 29 slots spend of defense powers only two more slot than SO's i free up two powers and got all of my recharge bonuses in addition to any other bonuses i got from IO's (each red fortune also gives %2 damage buff and i have two slots of LoTG on passives which gives %10 regen)
Its possible to make SR softcapped with SO's but other than being cheap, it doesn't have any other advantage. -
Quote:Its not blasphemy and its very plausible to not use hasten in StJ set just like in Double Blades. Its a combo building set so you will be using 3 combo builder attack+your finisher I doubt except tier 9 you will ever need hasten to run in a top attack chain and from what I see without an expensive build it would be hard to run tier 9 in a fast attack chain even with hasten.Well, what if you weren't using Hasten (yes, I know, blasphemy).
I've got a Street Justice/Energy Aura build I'm working on which doesn't include Hasten, so I'm wondering if I should use Musculature or Spiritual.
EDIT: For a comparision. If you are adding spiritual to compnesate not including hasten here are some numbers. Hasten gives %70 global recharge which is not effected by ED. Spiritual gives all of your powers %45 recharge which only two-third won't be effected by ED so you get %30+ recharge out of it even at T4. -
Quote:Tried this with %75 reactive %25 DoT on a pylon and confimerd that -res debuff doesn't work. I also used power analyzer Mk III. One of my friend said he tried it with all other interfaces and get no debuffs on at all.Interfaces don't apply any debuffs.
Verified for Diamagnetic and Reactive, assumed the same for Gravimetric and Paralytic.
Reactive DoT component still works, but then again that works entirely differently.
This conclusion is based on testing with Power Analyzer Mk III. -
Quote:My friend even posted about it in the know issue thread but no reply at the moment.I really hope you submitted a bug report on this.
I think allowing all but Judgement and Lore is a good call. The rules look good to me, I do suggest keeping it to scrappers and perhaps brutes only though. I really hope it goes well for you.
Be sure to come back and post the results, and see if you can get the winners to post their builds.
Good Luck! -
You can get softcap defense with SR set only SO's but you will need three pool powers (maneuvre, weave, combat jump/hover) or oversloting your defense powers and still need two pool power (weave and any one of others) Or with burnout and elude you may get a 6min softcapped character in every 15 min or so.
-
Quote:Actually its not an unnoticable debuff since it doesn't work at all. We tried all of interfaces with %75 debuff chances along with power analyzer mark III's and none of the debuffs from interfaces work. Only thing works is reactives DoT (not even its -res debuffs work)Lol, are you really comparing a chem nukes debuffs to an interface proc? Chemical Burn does MASSIVE -resist and -defense. Interface is a small, unnoticeable debuff.
On argument about destiny. There will be judges on the field right? to see if anyone using insps, temps etc. How about judges themelselves uses rebirth or barrier destiny close to participants? This way you can eliminate destiny's irregularity (since all participants get same buffs) while ensure survival wont be an issue for participants (or a smaller issue).
I may or may not join this competition. I am trying to see if I can squeeze some more damage and get under my current DPS score. -
General reason to use spiritual on a scrapper is to get permahasten if you get that already musculurate gives more DPS than spiritual. Especially if you can run your top attack chain (in most sets you can run your top attack chain once you perma hasten)
-
I maybe wrong but if i remeber correctly a bind starts from working right most to left so it maybe why you need press it twice sometimes since it fires before it takes target first or not toggle off to use power itself at all in the correct time.
EDIT: sorry forget it I remember wrong it overwrites power executions from right to left. -
It has been a long time but after certain things changed in game I once more tweaked around my build and want a few advices and suggestions on a few things.
First here is my build
Code:I tried to set it to show my current IO levels but just in case set all IO's to +5 to see correct values. I put most of my attack powers and defense powers (except AoE ones since it was already around %46) IO's to +5 which gaved me enough room to remove maneuvre but I stuck at what to get instead of it (burnout was an attempt to try it but it didnt turned out as I exptected). Also with +5 enchntment placement on hasten I removed one slot from it and placed it to GD for fury proc. I don't inted to remove super speed but if there is a plausible build option I will consider it. I have enough enchantment booster (I blame celestial armor for it :P) and a good amount of inf so give me your best shots.| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1532;688;1376;HEX;| |78DA6594596F125114C7EFB08843594A29DD2B6569D964DA461FDC92265A35DA52B| |1A86F868C7029184209D0A47DF4DD566DAB3E1BB5EA8BDFC18FE3D2EABB0B9EE1FC| |8B08374C7E33FFB3DC73CFBD97D4E6A2E3E3F5470B42715D29EBF57A3693ABE9D5A| |AACD956F4C6464D2F0B63D8E8F11D5BB2295996525BD21B7A45F7B7D545599095BA| |D4321BC6D7AA2C94E5A6AC7B6E548AB2262B0DEDF8C59E5E5F2F6B99AA947967EBF| |55A69ADD82855D6DCADAF65A9E765AD5E2C55D99A92F952AE54919EABD5524EBBBC| |9EDFCAA6F47A43D6B646A8A8243DDB3681D1B48A84498879559866C008D31205E3C| |CB14F44AF2A5246AC825897D2B29DB0837DCC930ED0C9B4BB992B14AB205671FD6F| |73208703312EE41AF3317728D68C9ACD9FA99649550C7E610E7D05BF31470EC1236| |69062AD3CAF624D08CE0F3E219B0D36DB6B5E6BE815334D36956D4285BF425A1FD7| |21FA9A34849914277B999DC34A6BC6C8103319254654311B66DE265F37667363651| |383CC5DB279B042CF4FAEE0D42FB009FE664EFD61468C9E18BB44B15E74D68B4E4E| |A18301EC46009D0DA0E321CCBF4AB13EACD297E455DE226D18750EA3BE38FCF7C83| |6CA759A470BEC1F5A63868BE04366867CC79167BC6BBD03649BC4BC9301F6DF27CD| |8F1EF82F61ADE798E18BCC99F3E00570817B708762839CCF12C4E98A60AD31F4248| |61EC4D09310C54C6337A7C7398F97B4287A197DC373C40FC0B7CCD3EFC0F7E00766| |865224902F811373E01442433E6D97FD665F807BCCF97DF039F812B771488839E49| |B43BE094BFBF6D2CF38817E4BFB4E36E33DD6B91E65BE4739D3A39CED51967B94B4| |05D392A2B414B5BF7D4B9B87F6F66D170ACED5F77F9A49B9C97722798FF72279977| |9D41917E5B81FF68E7F8EC7DC9BFE6D708739F0147CC61C440F97BC0474E7BEDD38| |89FCDE1A7AB7F0A04348771BFF029A5EFA36| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|

Quote:Well I said get both at first right? but if his choices are selecting between conserve power and physical perfection than its physical perfection since it can be slotted for sets and it gives health. Though if it was up to me I would drop focused accuracy (eats too much endurance compared to tactics and tactics itself is enough to do the tohit increment job also in underground trial tactics confuse protection is more useful than focused accuracy's perception bonus) and get conserve power along with physical perfection. Not so at all. Conserver Power is very useful even without being perma. If you have good enough endurance to not run completely dry between when it expires and when it recharges, CP gives you functionally infinite endurance. You use it when you start to get low, then when it's up you recover to full, and by the time you need it again it's back.
Conserve Power has the benefit of zero prerequisites, although if you take Focused Accuracy anyway that doesn't matter. -
Answer is both but thats because my kat/sr eats that much endurance.
Considreing there are sets that eat more endurance than mine answer is still both though if you don't have that much problem with endurance than physical perfection because with %97 global recharge (I assume this is before hasten so a total of %167) you may not make conserve power perma (it wont be perma anyway but having a 30 second gap and more than 100 seconds gap differs that much) if you can't make it perma you may have endurance crash until its up again.
If you don't have endurance crash until its up than you don't need it in the first place and physical perfection would be better to have anyway since it also buffs your health. For conserve power to be a reliable power you need at least %10 more global recharge or double slot it. -
Super speed and ninja run (using super speed on straight ways and switch to ninja run when i need to jump over an obstacle than switch back to super speed again)
-
kat/SR (purples in GC and GD) with SS and I did it in 6.58 min. If I could find the exit in the first mission (i am still not sure if there is any) it would be faster around a few seconds.
-
On my SR I needed either combat jump or maneuvre (in addition to weave) to push my build at %45 but it was an over kill (ends up at %47 with maneuvre). With boosters I removed maneuvre completly.
Droped hasten to two slots and added extra slot to GD for galdiators -res proc. -
Elude: I am particularly talking about the one in SR. I don't have a widow high enough to get it soI am not sure about that one. Before all IO sets come out only reason someone would take SR was elude. Its possible to make SR soft-cap defense without elude with SO's but you either over-slot your secondary or get three defense pool powers (weave, maneuvre, combat jumping or hover) not to mention you need at least two more pool power for weave so spending 5 powers for pools (I wasn't using fighting pool at all with my old pre-IO toon since I opted to have fitness instead)
But with all IO sets and such now with SR you almost accidently get to soft-cap defense and with a good build you won't need the recovery bonus of elude and it won't worth the crash at the end. Not to mention elude can't be perma even with hardcap recharge.
With all of the new travel powers +spd is not a good enough reason to get elude either and it was barely a reason to get it to begin with (becuase it will only stay for 3 min than recharge long and cause a end crash)
Only place elude may worth something is in incarnate trials but in those you have so many buffs on you that I sometimes see defense hardcap for a whole minute. In RV elude still seems more reliable but with barrier destiny you can get a better substitude which also grants +res.
Overall I used to be like elude alot but after IO sets come out it bugs me that my secondaries t9 is utterly useless unlike most of other scrapper secondaries. -
