Quote:I know we're unlikely to convince you otherwise, you have your way that works. I can't go as far as Goat, figuring out everything i might need, filling all my purchase slots with bids for things i may need in 5 levels. But crafting inventions you need can be as quick and easy as visitng the market or a vendor to sell that stack of recipes and salvage you have. Take a few minutes between missions whenever it's convenient for you to stop by a university and see what you can craft. Don't waste time at the market if you don't want, i rarely do. Just craft from what you have on hand. If you're doing tasks around your level and fighting a mix of foes you'll have all the parts you need for enhancements of your level. And a few extra minutes at a uni saves you more time and trouble with expireing enhancements later. Then if you still end up with some empty slots or not getting what you need then buy regular enhancements to complete things. Don't bother wasting your time replacing every invention every time you can use the next level. The whole point is you don't have to, freeing you up to keep playing. Taking hours is an extreme method, you can still utilise inventions without going that far. This is more directed at people that don't use them than you specifically Samuel, but your post happened to stick out at me at the time. In summary, inventions doesn't have to be work if you don't want it to be.
Or how about we just say that everyone plays her/his own way and leave at it that. I am in the same boat as Samuel, I do not plan. Just choose the powersets I want to play and be off to my goal of eventually getting level 50. If you choose to micromanage your character and spend time at a "store" then have fun. I do shop but it is called real life; games are played how I want to; with no planning and alot of fun. -
Do not really use IOs myself either; one can get along without IOs just fine. Mainly its the "I want to be a PL/farm toon and take on +5's" crowd that are seeking to purple out their characters. Other than my main I really use IOs; just sell everything and laugh while withdrawling influence from my sales.

i thought this thread, from the title, was about the heel/toe myth on boot wear. Imagine my dissapointment....

Quote:Way to act superior but I will tell you a secret: Not everyone uses test. Shocking I know but true. I do not use the test server (will let you superior poens do the bug testing) and have no reason to visit that section of the forms. So before you call people names why don't you stop and think before posting. There have been patch notes for test, when test has been patched. If people are too lazy to go look for them, thats not the Devs fault.
Live has not changed until today, thus not warranting patch notes, afaik.
Is a value question and patch notes would show up in an easy to find part of the forum; personally I would like to see the breakdown of dual pistols but guess i need to wait until i get in game. -
Must be Friday because all the pointless threads come out.

Quote:For one that complains about the game a lot I am baffled we you still subscribe to CoH; either you have money to burn or just enjoy whining. My husband and I discussed this at great length yesterday. His opinion is we haven't had an actual good issue since they brought out purples. My opinion is I havent had anything new to do that was fun in over a year.
The fact that they are hiring all these people and cant seem to get free issues out the door that have actual stuff to do created BY THE DEVS, IMO is hurting this game something severe. -
I17: Another stupid pointless thread.
(Yes this one counts too)

Quote:This right here is my big problem with villains right now... If I play two heroes in a row, one can do normal missions and one can hit Faultline->Striga->Croatoa->RWZ. My two villains, though, are stuck doing the same 3-4 contacts per level range that I've been doing forever.
... and yet I still spend 70% of my time v-side, because it's still better than doing newspaper missions ad infinitum where my team absolutely must have a tank and a kin and a healz0rs to even fight -3 Skulls.
I am sorry because you do not know how to play on the blue side then if you REQUIRE an AT. While its nice having a Tank, Kin, Or Emp on a team they are not required. Tanks can function very well without one of those three; its people that play the characters that are the issue. Not the AT's themselves. People that broadcast for a specific AT does not really know how other powersets work or how to properly lead a team or just like playing safe.
Also need to give a big no on redside, just not that interesting. Though this is another pointless thread because people will play what they want and those that say "play redside now because I said so" are just like those that spam the channels seeking a specific AT. -
Never boring; my main is a level 50 Archery/elec blaster. Also have a level 24 Archery/Energy blaster and a level 33 Archery/TA defender and a TA/Thug mastermind. Never gets old.

[QUOTE=Spazztastics;2586894]I do not see this "repetiveness" in CoX. I love to whack people down wherever it's caves, offices, bla bla. Whacking people simply never gets old.
CoX offers an excellent system for you to try out a millions of combinations of characters power sets and builds. If you don't like your build, simply respec or make a new character. Every character you make is a whole new experience.
WoW on the other hand is an extremely repetitive game with it's 80 levels loooong quest grind, boring unsatisfying PVE killing and it's 'based on end-game stuf concept (yes, i have played wow in my days and I had a couple of level 80's before I quit so I'm not just trolling).
In all. CoX is a MMO and every MMO out there have some kind of repetitiveness in the end. I don't care much for that the instances have the same maps. It's nothing that I ponder about while I'm rescuing and whacking ppl down, giggling as villains hit every wall in a office corridor. The city zones are so varied in the game that it should be enough for people who want to experience views.[/Qoute]
I am guessing by your forum date that you have not been playing that long so no you might not see the issue. Trying playing 5+ years, like a lot of people in this game, and you would think different. Does get old after awhile and new layouts will go along way to correct that. -
Quote:Agreed. When I get offered the chance I will turn it down. I do not find enjoy in playing a half finish games and report bugs, do not have time for that. I pay to play for fun. Besides I can wait for any game to come out live; those that get in the beta just means you will play the content and get bored of it sooner.This. I've been around a long time and havne't had a beta invite for anything other than the Champions beta.
However, I probably wouldn't do it even if offered. The whole idea of playing a non-live buggy version of the game does not appeal to me.
But, if thats your thing then go grab your boat and float it to your hearts content. You beta folks help keep things clean. Thanks for all your hard work.
Also this question that the OP asked, I am sorry, is a stupid question and really did not deserve the waste thread space. -
Quote:Yes, but do you see it as concern, Cap? Do you think that Paragon Studios is sweating over being perceived as CO 0.5, or do you think that it's something we shouldn't look twice at?
I believe you are over-thinking about this and who cares what people think about any MMOs. All comes down to subscribes; is the game getting enough? and/or are the Devs doing enough to keep those subscribers?
I could care less about what is happening behind the scenes; I pay to play this game because I want to and have for 5 years. I had ZERO interest in trying ChampO so did not, could care less if its "CoH 2". I am interest in the DC MMO and if I like the game enough I will leave CoH not because the comparison but because I want to.
Just like most of the threads posted these days you and others are speculating way too much and mainly about nothing; just relax and have fun with the game.....or leave. -
I do not soft cap or IO out my characters, I just play the game and with that said I am trying to find the difficulty that each scrapper can handle. Have not had too many chances to try yet but the testing I have done has meant with well...failure. Just need to keep trying until I find the middle ground that my scrappers can handle; also does not help that I jump around alts so takes me a couple missions to "feel" the character once more.
Though duoing with my partner is fun when we enter a map FULL with mobs; having a blast. -
Yes your opinion and feel free to post it. But you keep singing the same song and looks like many have the opposite opinion; I personally can not wait for I16....the last 3 issues were meh. So do not be surprise that your posts keep getting picked on and if your not happy you can always leave.

I also have the goal of getting a 50 for each archetype; heroes only, do not care for the villain side much (though working on getting a brute to 50 just so I can try VEATs).
I am only missing a level 50 warshade (currently lvl 22) and defender (highest is lvl 44) but have do have 8 level 50's spread out of the other AT's. Also have a goal (loosely) to get a level 50 of every blaster primary (just 2 so far), every tank primary (just 1 so far with Inv at 49 and couple in the 30's), and every scrapper primary (just 3 so far and fire at level 41). With I16 going live I will mostly likely stop worrying about leveling for awhile while my main plays with the new content and i make more.....more.....alts.
Many people say its not the end that is fun but the adventure towards the goal; I perfer both. While I like playing a powerset I want to experience new powers/abilities on ALL AT's. And with getting level 50 I feel a bit of satisfaction. -
That kinda like when on an AE mission with my Plant/Kin controller (just wanted to get FS since never used before....is nice) and the Stone tank (below 32 and not thsat good anyway) keep saying just "sb?". Gets annoying real fast and I findaly answer with "What is the magic word?" with a responce "sb pleease
".
Not my fault that the person was on a powerset that NEEDS movement help, even though the person did have TP, but tired of people whining for stuff and using smallest sentences possible. Like the defender that kept saying "MA", everyone was like "What?" then I realized they meant AM...after person casted though
Just face it people are lazy; lazy in real life and lazier in game. -
Quote:Being a longtime player, I would hope that this expansion would bring us to a higher level.
It would be great if we could raise levels to 60 or even 70.
After allmost 5 years of playtime on here, it would be time we evolved even more with our toons.
Sorry to disappoint but never going to happen (well 99.99%); if the level cap was raised would have happen awhile ago. Way to much work the devs to do instead of just raising the level cap and adding content. -
Personally have no idea what the point of the OP's post; read the first couple sentences of each "bullet point" but other than OP's opinion of the game really have no idea what is being asked or how I respond. Umm pie?

People have problem with the agro cap? I just ignore and grab 1...2...3..4 groups. Toss a taunt here and there, footstomp here and there, Nemmy staff here and there...no problem taking over the cap. Isn't ignoring numbers and just playing the game fun

Yea Razoras is trying to be funny, just coming off stupid. -
Grats again Larissa, is wonderful getting your first 50 while a tad sad also.
Well join Rowr and I in going for a level 50 villain, want to try those VEATS (hard because I do not like the red side much, neither does my system.)
