Yeah, not like dominators can achieve high levels of recharge with IO sets. But that's for another thread.
Rage is overpowered, that isn't a secret. Come on, now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. The only damage and tohit buff that can double stack by a large margin is not OP. Permadom as a minimum requirement of competitive Dom dps is not OP. It's balances. That's why the majority of people choose these things over any options presented. Because they're fair.
I mean SS has the best animations and sound effects, right? I know that's why people pick it. Because of all the cool lights and flashes...owait.
Yeah I want that rage nerf already. Like no more stacking or remiving the accuracy buff or increasing the recharge by 50% I will drink the sweet tears of the complainers as they rage-quit and realize that I can finally start playing all of my /Kin characters again, secure in the knowledge that 90% of the "SB please. It must have run out because I'm herding all of these blue ink tsoo, ice blasters, or fortunata and my recharge is down for some reason."
Please please. I've been waiting for this for so so long. I like /Kin, please make all of these idiots who don't want to take the time to learn any game mechanics beyond SS goes pew pew and WP is easy to level. Please bring my PUG joy back. -
I totally praise this Issue. It's way less painful and stupid than I13 and far far less mindlessly homogonizing than the last 6 World of Warcraft patches.
AT's are still clearly defined in thier differences and roles. This game is NOT suffering from the Star Wars Galaxies syndrome that is currently plaguing the current market leader. I applaud the efforts that keep it that way. -
ID can really be saved for other trollers and Fenders. Should save you some time in your cycle.

jesus christ why EVERY FREAKING ISSUE!?
[/ QUOTE ]
You read my mind. Not new content for redside, not new ANYTHING for redside. More shared stuff, more nerfs. Nice. Could be worse, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I think what he means is every freaking issue some doomcryer comes to the brute forums and spreads the rumor that SS will be nerfed. Since so many brutes are SS since SS is totally OP, everyone gets scared. Odd since SS is so OP and broken with rage stacking removing the debuff and the largest damage bonus a set can get mixed with a huge radius, short cooldown aoe that deals a lot of damage.
Wow, why would they ever think of nerfing it. Like they'd ever nerf all the FOTM sets like SS, Kinetics and /Psi assault...owait.
I'll laugh a lot since my brutes are all elec, DB, DM and Stone. -
or like...I dunno reducing supremacy by half and cause it to transfer all aggro from your pets to you...yeah...something
-
I'm trying to do it in a way that doesn't sound like criticism. This isn't my strong suit, but that sounds critical enough that some people would take offense.
I just need the nicest way possible to explain to MM's a concept that there is no tutorial or information for anywhere in the game, without making it sound like they're idiots for not knowing it.
It's not thier fault really. I mean the only hint that there might be something complex about being an MM in game is the disclaimer on the character creation screen that they are difficult and complex. -
I was in a group last night on one of my brutes with a corr and 6 MM's running relentless missions.
Bots/FF
Bots/Pain
Bots/Traps
Merc/TA
Thugs/Pain
Ninja/FF
None of them had provoke or used BG mode. It was messy whenever we were fighting everything but longbow and arachnoids (things my dark/elec can actually be killed by).
Is there a simple way to explain bodyguard mode and tankerminding to a PuG? It was so frustrating. I eventually had to switch out to one of MY MM's so that we would have a tank. -
The Mu Immob prevents KD, but not disorient, so it still works to with fault AND burn. I'd also toss my two cents in for WP over fire. Fire provides more damge, more aoe, but has less end recovery by far, and supstantially less healing, except when fighting single targets.
Fire Rules at single target, WP rules at multitarget. Purely from a survivability standpoint. -
Unless you plan on just beating on pylons and roaming single AV's and EB's, there is no other reason to ever skip Fault...and 5 slot it at least. Fault is one of the best hard control powers in the game. They gave it to brutes, appreciate it.
-
Dark/Invuln is actually a really good combo. Hard to kill and tough as nails. The long recharge aoe's in dark actually work for holding aggro. Match them up with some patron aoe and you have a fully functional beast.

I plan to take CJ as well eventually because it's awesomeness at such a low low cost. It's SJ I wanna avoid. More than 3/4th of my characters have it, I'd love a change of pace.
As for Air supp, wouldn't that seriously gimp my attack chain? I'm a DM brute, I have more ways to damage people than I need.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't really have an overabundance of ST attacks. Shadow Maul costs you rage. Shadow punch makes a nice brawl replacement that tohit debuffs, but other than that no real reason to take it. That leaves 3 ST attacks. Air superiority fills in nicely and has a nice secondary affect. -
only thing I can think of is that Hover is a little high on End usage and SD is a pretty high usage set. But DM is a very low end usage set, so it should work out.

It's grilling season my friends. If you want a good steak, make it with fire.
Mix mustard with pepper, garlic, salt, basil. Then coat the meat with it. Wrap the meat in butcher paper or newspaper tightly and place it directly on the hot coals for 10 minutes. You have to wait for the coals to heat up about this long anyway so it's good to have something to do in the delay. Take the meat out of the paper and wipe off the excess (save this to grill the corn in, it will be awesome). Grill the meat until it reaches the level of pink you want. Protip: pinching the skin between your thumb and index finger will give you a rough approximation of medium. Adjust up or down based on this value.
Enjoy meat. -
I have a Bots/TA MM. I really wish I had rolled it Mercs/TA. Even then I would probably only play it rarely. TA is extremely good with controls. I have a Fire/TA troller who is amazing. Lots of control and excellent damage. For MM's necro works with it for solo, but not really on large groups. There really isn't an MM primary that fits well with it.
-
still hoping for /Rad assault. They could replace, Energy assault with it. Ya know, make another playable dom set out of garbage.

so get the storm secondary and slot em in tornado...
No, not being able to slot 2x of those IOs doesnt affect the MMs I have that can't. I have 2 MMs with 2x and 2 without. I have no issue playing either.
[/ QUOTE ]
That'd be sort of silly, considering it's an Aura. >.> Tornado isn't reliable enough to stay near the rest of your pets. Still, I don't think it's that big of a deal. There's far better things to get out of those sets then just the auras.
[/ QUOTE ]
the aura is around you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Huh. That, I was unaware of. Slightly increases the use of it, but still not sure it'd be something I'd specifically slot for. I'll have to look into it more in detail.
[/ QUOTE ]
Consider it numerically slightly less than tough, but for all damage types, for zero end. -
look, you can't be a tanker without taunt and you can't be a defender without heals. Anything else is fake.
Also colour isn't really spelled with a 'u'.
Don't read this sentence. -
[ QUOTE ]
The positional defense of Shield also provides protection against debuffs and mez which makes it my personal favorite; if only because it provides me protection from the Malta Sappers.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you want debuff protection SS/Elec is extreme. Protection from just about everything nasty, lots of resists, including a pile of psi and one of the better endurance recovery powers. It lacks healing, but makes up for it in toggle versatility. You can run any and every toggle you want on SS/Elec to help the survivability.
I have a DM/Elec with tough, weave and darkest night. I fear no opponent or spawn. Everything becomes the fat kid in dodgeball: non-threatening and easy to drop.
Actually on a side note I was the fat kid in dodgeball. I couldn't throw or catch, but I could move. Always the last one out and always the quickest to grab balls from the line to feed them to the gunners in the back.
I still stand by my metaphor though in theory. -

pve wise elec has no equal, seriously yo try a hidden thunderstrike and AS and entire group of ppl all at once, its sick.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then you try and kill a boss, and just stand there spamming AS because you don't have any REAL single target damage...
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT. I love my Elec/EA on teams, but NEVER vs hard targets. The aoe is just amazing, but the ST doesn't exist. -
Hit capping is easier on necro/dark. Necro/dark also provides more control. Necro/Storm applies it's -tohit buffs faster, worries less about scatter and provides more overall damage.
-
Six slotting Gale with Kinetic crash is a very good idea whether for pvp or pve. The mag strenght on it is somewhere in the range of 22 with that slotting and the accuracy is less terrible. Mix in some combination of IO ACC bonuses, focused accuracy, tactics and BU. The reason the base accuracy is so low is because of the gigantic area it covers and the ridiculous mag strength of the effect.
Enjoy launching bosses through the air like you're hair just went blond and you started screaming Kamehameha. -
pvping with MM /TA is kinda painful. Ninja/PSN and necro/storm are good. Necro/Storm has a more varied toolbox while Ninja/PSN deals damage faster to single targets and just moves faster overall with your little zippy ninjies. Stack some stealth though and pick up grant invis. Unless you're facing a VEAT or someone else with ridiculously stacked +perc you basically look like a petless MM.
Personally I've had a blast in RV with my Thug/PSN. If I see anything less than a four person group rolling around, I don't even think about running. No buff in the game cancels -special and that alone makes it a sechse pvp set. So freakin much -special it's sick. -
I have a Stone/FA and if I'd known ahead of time how much it would cost me to slot it out so that I could actually maintain my green and blue bars while smashing large packs, I would have just rolled up Stone/WP. Possibly Stone/Invuln, but not /FA. The weaknesses to the set make it necessary to spend tons to fill the gaps.
You need the KB singles and a LOT of recovery or a LOT of recharge for consume. Factor in that that's just the money I spend w/o having a rage crash to factor in. -

Also between snow storm and freezing rain you are already capping slow, so the slowing from ice isn't really needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
I went and skipped Snow Storm; the slows from the Ice Attacks make up for it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just something to consider, you skipped a single ability because your entire primary made up for it. Could it possibly be better to take the ability and change the primary? Just tossing it out there. I also skipped snow storm on my fire/storm, but I slotted a slow set into freezing rain so my slowing is still pretty capped. I'm shy on -recharge, but not overly bothered by that.
