Spend a couple billion on IOs ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I only spent around 300 million on my Fire/Shield scrapper so far and he's got soft capped Melee and Ranged defenses and 36% AoE defense. I still need to buy two of the KB IO's from Blessing of the Zephyr (wish I didn't have to, but I needs me some more AoE Defense), and I need one more LotG:Recharge, but I don't think those are going to run me over 1.5 billion to make your estimate correct.
  2. OWTS is a 60% end crash.

Also, with Phalanx Fighting, you can go into mid's and edit what the slider can be set to (Options->Advanced->Database Editor, then find Phalanx Fighting). I don't know why it's set to see one teammate always, but that bothered me and had me calculating my defenses incorrectly for a while.

    Pocket D.

    [ QUOTE ]
Yup, I am thinking this was an oversight and they acually meant to make her cross faction but who knows... maybe it is a conspiracy against city of villians....

My friend thinks it is a nemesis plot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, during beta for i15, all of the contacts in RWZ and Cimerora would say the same thing. Something got borked with the way that co-op zones' contacts work. They got most of them, but apparently missed PD (probably, I'm guessing, because it's not a very common occurrence to train up in Pocket D).

Edit: And yes, it most likely is a Nemesis plot.

IIRC it was a gate to Perez Park before they introduced Galaxy City.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You do in fact recall correctly. I wish they had kept it as KR and AP being the starting cities. KR has that gritty feel to it that I would rather have when starting some of my darker heroes. And it would make the Hellion/Skull rivalry be more prominent, which is cool.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, KR was never a starting city - it was the "next step" like Port Oakes is to Mercy Island.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It seems I was misinformed then. Well, I wish that it was made into an alternate starting zone instead of GC then.

  6. Hey Jay, any chance of you coming in and telling us you know about these bugs now and such? You know, like BAB did in the threads that he made less than a month ago.

    Thanks.

That way people can't just sk someone then leave their computer on overnight and earn the SG badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can if you have one toon taking damage and the other auto-healing them...
  8. It's not really good to know though. Heh. It makes it so that it isn't really worth your while to exemplar at 50. I would think that the developers would want to encourage people to exemplar and help out lower level heroes. Admittedly it's not a huge loss of inf per kill, but it adds up, so I'd much rather be fighting things my level and SKing a lowbie instead of exemplaring to them.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
If you are exemplared (via Ouroboros, Task Force, or actually helping someone lower than you) you get double influence and (I think) double Prestige .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I believe this to be a misconception as well.

"All experience the exemplar would have gained goes instead toward paying off debt, if she has any, or becomes influence if she has no debt. This increase in influence has no effect on how much prestige is gained by a character in supergroup mode. Additionally, an exemplared character will not get any enhancements or normal infamy/influence rewards from defeating enemies ...
... It is widely believed that an exemplared character gains full normal influence rewards in addition to any extra influence he gets from converted experience. In fact, it's even stated in several player guides, both official and unofficial. This is not true. Playing while exemplared and debt-free will not result in roughly double the usual amount of influence. "
    - Excerpt from the Wiki Article.

When I read this, it seemed to go counter to what I remembered. However, in testing it using AE and Oro, I found that I actually gained less influence per defeat with my 50 bs/wp. Defeating a level 50 Lieutenant at level 50 (in AE and on the street) got me 3,335 influence and 44 prestige. I tested exemplaring to different levels within AE (49, 47, and 45) and at each level, facing even-con lieutenants, I earned 2,779 influence and 44 prestige. I then headed to Oro and chose an arc that exemplared me to 45 and headed to PI where I killed a few random even-con lieutenants to test if AE was borked. I earned the same amount from them.

Then I thought that maybe it was because I was doing it with a level 50 and that it wasn't working right, so I logged in a level 36. Against an even-con lieutenant, I recieved 1,613 experience, 968 influence, and 44 prestige. Exemplared to 35, I got 807 influence and 44 prestige.

    Conclusion:
Examplaring does not affect prestige earning at all, and actually lowers the rate at which you earn influence.

That is, unless I'm just bugged and gaining way too much influence when not exemped.
  10. Don't know about PvP, but the Defender duo you have in mind would work very well in PvE. And yes, all of the resist debuffs will stack.

Just Fortitude won't soft-cap your defenses though, so you will want to take and slot at least one or two heals. For a duo, I can't see you needing Absorb Pain though. Just keep in mind that enemies will get lucky and get through your defense and kill you.

If you're wary about the DPS, you could go Rad or Kin instead. I think you'll be fine with the damage bonus from Fort and the resist debuffs from your attacks though.

My brains been hurting trying to figure out a name opposuite of "Recluse" o.@

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you want just the opposite of the name, and ignoring any theme, then the opposite of a recluse would be a socialite. If we go with the insect theme and the meaning, then we could say that the opposite would be a "social butterfly" and then just call him Monarch. I know, Venture Brothers already has "The Monarch" and it makes it sound silly, but it could work. And some other butterfly names could work for some of the underlings; the Widows could be Painted Ladies, and Crabs could get a makeover and be Swordtails. I'm sure there's other names that could work too, but I'm not going to come up with them all.

We ran the Manticore TF the other day. The team was capped at 35 and so were most of the bad guys. All but those darn level 40 Paragon Protector Elites. It was only those foes, and only in a few of the missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You didn't just kill them like real men? That's what my team did when we hit that bug

At one point we had four of them on us at once, it was not pretty.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I remember when this kind of thing was in the Citadel TF. The warwolf bosses were all spawning as level 35s in the 25-30 TF. I forgot about the bug and put together an All-Scrapper Citadel TF the one night. It was actually quite a bit of fun to take on the +5's; although there were quite a few deaths during the first few missions before we realized we should be paying attention to what's in each spawn.

Might as well post my set up 8)

Yes I like mine on the side :O

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought I was the only person who put their start bar over there. Amazing. I keep mine set to auto-hide though.

Also, to the person who hates desktop icons, get Fences. Even if you don't want to actually use any fences, it has a feature that you can doubleclick on the desktop to hide your icons. Then they're only there when you want them. I too dislike having a bunch of icons on my desktop and recently got to the point where I couldn't stand it; but now I have Fences and organized them and keep them hidden the majority of the time.

And I decided to pick one of my WS wallpapers and take captures, just so I can show how Fences looks, and also show off my custom Windows Theme (There's more to it than just the start button, but if I showed that, it wouldn't be showing off my dekstop).

"Fluff" has no effect. I don't complete a mission faster because I'm wearing the Baron jacket from the magic pack, or I'm wearing red instead of green. That is "fluff."

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's a lie, and you know it. Everyone knows red makes things go faster. Duh.

How much spam (RMTmails) can the ingame Email box hold?
Well, in one thread, I heard a claim that someone had to delete to get down to the 500 range because of some game-performance issue.
But to be honest, I don't know.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was me. Figured I'd chime in here too and let him know that he's got a ways to go.

Long story short, I got in-game email-bombed. The mailbox can hold quite a bit more than 200. It was a bit over 3 years ago that it happened, so I don't remember the exact number, but I do remember sitting there clicking delete repeatedly whenever I flew anywhere and taking multiple play sessions to get down under 500.

You should be able to just create a new character and give them the same name but a different save name. It might not work to just edit them and save differently, not sure though.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You should be able to give it the same name, and then hit "edit save path" and just put in a different file name. I'm pretty sure that's how I did it for the male and female versions of the Drakule Spawn, one with the filename Drakule SpawnM and Drakule SpawnF or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I feel dumb now, I actually did the same thing in another of my arcs to add variation to the one minion in the group so that all the writers in the Writer's Guild didn't look the same.
  17. You should be able to just create a new character and give them the same name but a different save name. It might not work to just edit them and save differently, not sure though.

I did this for an arc I had published for a little while, I had to have 3 versions of my one toon to show up throughout the story. I had her named the same each time, although I did have her in different groups for each incarnation. You might need to have them in separate groups, but I'm not sure about that.

Also, if they run the arc on Heroic/Villainous, EBs will automatically get scaled down to Bosses. You could just put it in the description that they should tone down their difficulty if they can't handle EBs.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Well, that and honestly my just using folders was "cleaner" to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I use the double-click thing to hide everything when not in use, so you can't really get much cleaner than that lol.
  19. Aett covered it, but I'll add that powersets in alpha weren't fully realized powersets, they were more like our current power pools (only 4 or so powers made up a full set then). And players were able to choose their powers without being restricted to primary and secondary (origin also played a part in how many powersets you could have). When they realized that it wouldn't be balanced to let players pick powers all willy-nilly, they made them into primary and secondary sets and expanded on them to make the powersets that we have today (and some of them that didn't actually have any powers made at the time ended up in the "coming soon" powers bin to be added later, like sonic and later plants).
  20. <qr>

I'd show mine, but I cycle through over 200 wallpapers using a changer to change it every 15 minutes, and the only things that are actually visible besides the wallpaper is the weather and a clock since I use Fences (nice program for keeping your desktop organized) and have my startbar set to autohide.

    *shrug*
  21. <qr>

I rarely used the emote, but I liked the pumpkin and would like a way to set what I turn into like what was suggested near the start of the thread; something like making it one emote with multiple options.

    Codes?

Except for the "++" in front makes it so that it's as if the "button" is being pressed continuously, so enter would bring up the chat screen, and then it would go away immediately since it's constantly disabling the UI.
  23. Johnstone

    Help!

I've had that happen, I fixed it by dragging a tab down towards the bottom, it split the window again and I was able to get the chat tab back. There might be another way, but that worked for me.
  24. Awesome, they all look great. Can't wait to see it all put together.
