how much spam will a mialbox hold?
What? Do what needs to be done? *sigh*
The Devs already wasted a lot of time and effort to provide many systems to mitigate this situation. Just like the Internet itself the only way they could ever stop email spamming completely in this game would be to remove the entire email system. That's just not going to happen.
Sorry the spammers annoy you so much but since it's a fact of modern MMO life you might as well do what I do and not let it bother you anymore. Spam emails only annoy you if -you- let them.
Good luck to you...

We don' need no stinkin' signatures!
While I might not count it as important an issue as the OP does.. I still wish we had a simple word filter for e-mails. Even if it might not be a high priority issue.

Still hate the visit Winscott mission- make it dropable, have it give actual exp or remove it altogether. PS- Down knows who you are.

I just wish I had an option to turn of e-mail in game. Period.
In 2 years of playing, I have received 1 email from someone other than spammers, and that's only because I emailed them first.

they only reason i can see for not having the filters is the game doent want them to leave because they are making mad money off them! if this is true its a sad,sad state of affairs when the criminal is catered to and the customer is flamed for complaining.

The only reason I can see for not expending effort on the mail system is that there are more important things to work on. They will modify it, if they modify it, when it triages to the top of the list.
If you get flamed it will be for a confrontational attitude coupled with a whopping sense of entitlement.
The preposterous approach of accusing the vendors of condignly supporting RMT because they profit from it is a typical internet piece of bullyragging, since such a statement delivered face to face would be legitimately answered with a blow and exchange of seconds.
And it takes a remarkable amount of chutzpah for a poster who revels, even wallows, in this kind of churlish rhetoric to make remarks about the developers being snide.
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.

Maybe the devs could create a badge series based on how much spam you've received.

A box that holds mials, duh.
Oh, how stupid of me.

I dunno. I suppose it would depend on how big the mailbox is and whether the cans can be stacked neatly or if you have to get creative putting them in there.
What? Not that kind of spam?
Nevermind then

How much spam (RMTmails) can the ingame Email box hold?
Well, in one thread, I heard a claim that someone had to delete to get down to the 500 range because of some game-performance issue.
But to be honest, I don't know.
What is "Getting off the snide"?
Most of the spam I get is about one site in particular... seems like it would be very easy to filter it, or plug in a normal Bayesian spam filter and have a spam folder we could look through if we really felt we lost something.

That was me. Figured I'd chime in here too and let him know that he's got a ways to go.
Long story short, I got in-game email-bombed. The mailbox can hold quite a bit more than 200. It was a bit over 3 years ago that it happened, so I don't remember the exact number, but I do remember sitting there clicking delete repeatedly whenever I flew anywhere and taking multiple play sessions to get down under 500.

You're the only bully here, because you're trying to sell malicious arguments as absolute truth and take pot shots at anyone who disagrees with you, manufacturing hidden agendas and sending out pointless taunts. If you have a point that can stand on its own merits, you wouldn't have to browbeat people who disagree with you. The fact of the matter is you have neither a point nor an argument, just a conspiracy theory you claim "rings close to home" because people deny it. That's pretty close to the Galileo fallacy - just because someone denies an argument, this doesn't make it proof that the argument is true. It's equally possible that a person will deny an argument out of guilt as it is possible a person will deny an argument because the argument is plain not true.
Don't be a chicken little. Don't try to bully people into agreeing with your agenda. Convince them. Don't expect them to either get with the programme or keep their mouths shut. You're on a public forum, and treating people rudely and aggressively does not make your point any more true, it just makes more and more people simply not listen to you. Take my word for it - posing like a tough guy doesn't make you seem any tougher. It just makes you seem silly. Your arguments don't become any more true the more times you repeat them and the more disagreements you handwave away. They become more true if you become more convincing, which you have not done.
As for your actual problem, it's exceedingly minor. It takes several months for my characters to amass around 50-100 spam e-mails, and it takes anywhere from as many to twice as many seconds to report them all and clear my e-mail box for the next few months. That's three or four minutes once every couple of months, and only on characters I haven't played in a while. The ones I'm actually playing don't get more than one a week, and that one is easy enough to report.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

i am closing in on 200 spam emails on several toons. just wondering how many it will hold and when the filters are coming out, maybe an option to turn it off even? they only reason i can see for not having the filters is the game doent want them to leave because they are making mad money off them! if this is true its a sad,sad state of affairs when the criminal is catered to and the customer is flamed for complaining. maybe a dev wil see this(choke, spit, cough)and get off the snide and do what needs to be done.
