Kings Row missing gate?

At the war wall due east from the High Park neighborhood marker for Kings Row, there are watchtowers, fences, and walls, like you see at the gates for hazard zones, but there's no actual gate. I know it's been that way since I started playing, nearly two and a half years ago.

Anyone know what was going to be there? Access to Perez maybe?

It used to be access to another zone (I don't recall if it was perez or not,) yes - there's never been any actual gate there since... well, launch.

You do in fact recall correctly. I wish they had kept it as KR and AP being the starting cities. KR has that gritty feel to it that I would rather have when starting some of my darker heroes. And it would make the Hellion/Skull rivalry be more prominent, which is cool.

There was a short time after one of the patches where the gate was open and allowed one to access an area outside the war wall and even under the map. I used to have screenshots of KR from a distance when I was out in the middle of nowhere.

To be fair, KR was never a starting city - it was the "next step" like Port Oakes is to Mercy Island.
