Quote:Well, technically, any seconday will "go well" with AR. I liked traps to stay with the gadget/natural theme. Both AR and traps are slow starters, but you get pretty super in the 40s. It really depends on what you want to do with the toon.I was hoping to get a little advice to see what secondary would go well with an AR primary.
I'm in the mood for another alt and wanted to give AR a spin but really have no idea what to pair it with or what would be good.
Any input or advice would be appreciated.
Do you want a strong soloer? A team backbone build? A little of both? -
You probably shold ask this in the warshades/peacebringer forum.
-
My dream team is a pick up team with lots of different builds and personalities that are played by competent players that have their toons built around their ATs strengths. Having an experienced leader is always a plus.
Happens more often than you might think and alot more fun than the systematic min/maxed teams in my opinon. But to each their own. -

Someone might correct me on this, but I think animation time and recharge time is all there is as it relates to "damage speed"...or however you want to label it. -

I haven't read the entire 12 pages, but I just wish that Exemplering didn't take away your powers. I still haven't set foot in Oroporus because I refuse to play my level 50 with level 12 powers.
Exemplering should just give a debuff to the damge multiplier...Not take away powers, Enhancments and IO bonuses. Why would i want to play my favorite toon at a level he was not designed for?
This is why I always avoid teaming with lower level folks..No, I don't team much. -
Quote:I do not think your one example is sufficent to prove that point. If anything, you only supprted my statement. If ALL ebils did what you did, what would happen? (Impossible to do, but nonetheless, it's the opposing argument.)Erm...
Is not our fault.
I just liquidated my common salvage blue and red side from personal storage... mebbe 100 pieces Blue and 150 Red. Listed everything for 11 Inf... it all sold. Net Gain: ~1.25 mil blue, ~1.75 mil red.
It is NOT the marketeers.
I think it's a combination of Ebils, RMT'ers and greedy players...with each pointing fingers at the other two.
But alas, my analysis will always fall of deaf ears in this forum. -
Quote:Poverty is tough!
I'm no Marketeer. I'm a Casual Player.
I don't flip, stack, reflip, steat Inf transfers or use ebil tricks of Market PvP.
I don't use sugar daddy characters, farm the uber-maps or enter costume contests.
I just play the game normally, and sell my drops for a reasonable price at the Market. Usually at less than 2/3rds the average of the Last Five. Except for what's truly Vendor Trash and wouldn't likely sell even if I listed it for negative influence.
I set my characters up with decent Set IO's. Not Purples, and not usually the best non-purple sets either, but good sets.
I run in SG mode at all times.
And yet, I still can't figure out how people can be poor if they just defeat the little pixellated pinatas and gather up the drops that fall into thier inventory. After all this laziness I described above, I still end up with millions when I hit that final ding, and heaven help me, it's worse if I continue playing after that ding, to finish the contact's arc or such.
Poverty eludes me.
People are only poor relative to the super elite stuff...which is bid up as a result of RMT created and purchased inf. All the extra inf purchased from the RMTs that is spent on the elite stuff does get spread out on lower demand items thus raising costs of everything, but supply is appears generally adequate to keep inflation under control for most common items..
The flippers and ebil marketeers ARE contributing to price increases as they are creating the motive for people to use RMTs. All accused are guilty to contributing to any perceived problems in the market. The statements made by the self proclaimed ebils demonstrates a lack of accountabilty. Nonetheless, the current system allow Ebil marketering, so it's not really their fault. Where the opportunity exists, there will be profit. -
Quote:Concerning AR, it sorta depends on WHEN and HOW you look at the numbers as well. Sometimes, straight math doesn't reflect reality.I'll start off with a conversation I had on Ventrilo with some friends and we concluded that Empathy on a Defender is less beneficial to a team in comparison to a Controller with Empathy as a secondary. Granted for non-power gamers Empathy Defender is bread & butter, meaning a SO dominate built team is fine, but when it is applied to power gamers it seems to take a step backwards with Kinetics taking the forefront for IO dominate built teams. I unfortunately don't have any real suggestion for Empathy, just the general idea of what my friends have assessed.
Second, Assault Rifles are now laughable at best when it comes to a powerset option for a Blaster, thankfully for Corruptors it's less of an issue because of Scourge, but as far as using it on a Blaster is that Archery has such a larger lethal output what's the point aside from aesthetics? Yes, I know I'm not currently looking at the numbers,(It's 3 am.) but Assault Rifle could use a slight boost especially for a Blaster.
That's my two cents at least for now. I'll check some number at time when I'm really awake, unless anyone else wants to tackle them.
At level 50 and with IOs, my AR is a freaking AOE PvE god....That also can do alot of damage to single targets-especially if that single target is immobile(ignite ftw)...Nonetheless, he also spent many levels in gimp status.
The biggest problem with the blaster version of AR is all the AOE and minimal mitigation. -
Martial Arts/Traps/Devices (Or gadgets if it existed)
Irritated that I can't make a "Batman" theme toon. -
Wow. You've accomplished alot in the game considering you started in Jan 2009. Just having learned how to amass 1 billion in that amount of time is surprising.
I wish I had that much time to play!
Good work and thanks for sharing. -
Both of the following statements are true:
1) No toon is useless.
2) Any toon can be useless.
That is all. -

Rarely do I list something in the single digits. Usually, I just list a bit under the median (or mode if applicable) rate of the last 5. Works pretty good. My stuff sells quickly and it ususally sells much higher than the my listing price.

Quote:So. Who is on your "despise list"?The only way I'd probably reactivate it is if someone that I DESPISE somehow ended up at the top spot. Then I'd have to reactivate it and do whatever I could just to knock that person down. But since there are very few people that I despise, and I doubt they'd ever make it to the top, I don't think that'd happen.

In my head, I have the distant memory of discussion of going to consoles. Maybe it was just the speculation from other forum folks though.
-
I can't find it now, but wasn't there a dev post at one time that this game might get translated over to some consoles?
I've looked but I can't find it. For the life of me, I swear they wre looking into this. -
Quote:You forgot to say DOOOOOOMMMMM!!!Sorry, but I am not sure where to post this.
Dev's, the new boards look pretty, but they suck. I hate them. Please revert to old format. I like the old ones as I can scroll through them quicker and easier. With this one, I need to know where I am looking. This was a huge mistake you can still rectify. Issue 15 was lame, but the boards reformatting sucks even more. At this point, it may be worth leaving things alone in fact for the whole game. You are only making things worse.
I didn't like the change at first, but now I've gotten use to them. It also seems easier for me to conceal surfing the page at work. -
I've seen different variations of this suggestion a few times before. I'm sure the devs have thought about it. Not sure why 'Hybrid Inspirations" have not been implemented yet.
Craftable inspirations would be awesom I think.
Maybe the devs don't think the game should be getting any easier. I duuno. -
You'll be disappointed damage-wise going from a brute to a tank.
A scrapper is your best translation of a brute on the hero side.
I think the number 1 scrapper build (Assumptions: Focus on single target with unlimited funds) is DM/SD.
BUt the truth is, in PvE...Any scrapper will do. I have a level 20 MA/SR and all he has is a few partially outleveled ACC and END reduction Dual Origin enhancments (Some slots are even stil empty) he is mauling over everything. Took out a red eb Dr Valhizok (sp?) the other day. Mobs are really just an end drain to me right now. -
So bottom line, you want to increase the number of purples for people who run task forces at high difficulty levels AND then lower the purple drop rate of people who can't run task forces and/or have builds in which they can't fight higher level mobs.
In essence, you want to make your toons more powerful while everyone else stays weaker.
Purples are rare and available for everyone right now. That doesn't need to change. I don't know for certain, but I'm will to bet that task forces are only run by a small percentage of the population. -

Well, yes. You've just described the current PvP system as well. And if they (the developers) can't get conventional PvP tweaked right, a non-convential-live -in-your-face-PvP system is certainly gonig to be full of fail as well.
I was just sayin':
"Not really sure how they could pull it off with it it getting exploited or griefed, but I think it would be neat to do if it was done properly."
I mean seriouslly, we have two seperate MMOs here. With heros and and villains...The fact that the two world exist independant of each other just doesn't seem 'complete' to me. The two worlds should be affecting each other somehow. -
I think it would be cool to have invasion events where a group of villains can TP into Atlas. Or heros could TP into Gradville.
Not really sure how they could pull it off withit it getting exploited or griefed, but I think it would be neat to do if it was done properly.
But PvP is pretty much dead to me. I dislike the fact that my powers function differntly there. Also, without any reward system in place, I have to reason to PvP anyway.
