I certainly hope it happens, but I'm a little leery of an article that doesn't cite any sources or give any relevant quotes. It's all "probably..." and "rumor has it...".

My old standby Brute, Mekanikron:
(I really need to upgrade my video card...)
-
Quote:Think about Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, or Heath Ledger's Joker or Tom Hiddleston's Loki -- a good villain doesn't just set the plot in motion, they're compelling characters in their own right. You're interested in them and you want to see what they'll do next. The Lizard? Yawn.He was the reason Spider-Man did more than track down his uncle's killer. Not sure that qualifies as a "non-entity" in the plot.
Quote:My only complaint about his part of the story is that they didn't go more into his relationship with Peter's parents, and why they had to bolt. -
A personality? Some motivation? They did such a good job developing Pete and Gwen and their relationship, and the various supporting characters all have nice moments too... it's just weird that the Lizard ended up being such a non-entity.
-
I liked the early parts of the movie...the origin had some differences, but it made sense and was true to the spirit of the comics. They did a great job with most of the characters, but the Lizard was a disappointment -- completely generic mad scientist stuff.
-
FUN:
- Making costumes. So many possibilities!
- Trying out different power combinations.
- The early levels, when I'm leveling up fast and the character is taking shape.
- Storyarcs, tips, and well-written AE missions.
- Getting badges. I'm not compulsive/completist about it, but I enjoy them when they appear.
- Mothership raids. Feels epic, good rewards, but isn't as twitchy and high-pressure as most of the other big group content.
- Mayhem missions. Blowing up mailboxes never gets old.
NOT FUN:
- Those last few levels, where my character is more or less "set" and I'm starting to get bored with it and just marking time until I hit 50 and start another new alt.
- Most TFs. They can be ok if you get a really good team, but when they're bad, they're unbearable.
- All iTrials. Holy cow, what an awful slog those are. Even when they go well, they suck. -
Quote:So she sucks at raids? Man, that makes me love her even more!If you adventured outside of CoH and actually played with Felicia and her crew when ''the guild'' was at its utmost top popularity - when they did their special ''WoW Play through'' on the Official Beta Server--- you'd of seen just how horrid she really did play, how she did with a maxed out, maxed armored DPS and PROC but still managed to get the team f'd up by not listening to a word both her friends that knew the game, and the devs threw at her.
-
When they were first introduced, the iTrials had a high failure rate, and people (rightly or wrongly) blamed it on the LFG throwing them into random, minimum-sized PUGs. So people rejected the LFG and started forming their own leagues. The habit is so entrenched in the playerbase at this point that I'm not sure anything can be done to change it, short of disallowing pre-formed leagues completely (which would be an unpopular move, to say the least).

Weirdly, my concern is just the opposite: That the base difficulty of the game is going to go up, either in response to people using the consumables, or (more cynically) as an incentive to get people to buy more of them. And someone like me, who is not a particularly brilliant player in the first place, and who isn't inclined to spend extra money beyond my subscription, is going to get slowly squeezed out.

Quote:A certain prominent filmmaker gave an eloquent speech against that sort of thing back in 1988:Also, I don't understand how you can be against updating your movies, years ago they didn't have the digital technology, so they used puppets.
Quote:These current defacements are just the beginning. Today, engineers with their computers can add color to black-and-white movies, change the soundtrack, speed up the pace, and add or subtract material to the philosophical tastes of the copyright holder. Tommorrow, more advanced technology will be able to replace actors with "fresher faces," or alter dialogue and change the movement of the actor's lips to match. It will soon be possible to create a new "original" negative with whatever changes or alterations the copyright holder of the moment desires....
In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be "replaced" by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten...
Attention should be paid to this question of our soul, and not simply to accounting procedures. Attention should be paid to the interest of those who are yet unborn, who should be able to see this generation as it saw itself, and the past generation as it saw itself. -
Justice suits me fine -- it's populated enough that I can find a team if I want one, and the people are generally nice. No reason to move.

Ms. Day is always adorable. But I have to admit, all these "Geek Pride" anthems (by her and others) are starting to blur together.

Apparently, you have to wait a little bit after talking to him the first time, and then click on him again and tell him to go win back his money.
-
Still, though, you have the satisfaction of knowing that you did it the "hard way". Indeed, if you think that effort was something to be admired in the first place, then the fact that there's now an "easy way" makes you even more hardcore for putting in that effort.

The "Gladiator" section is a lot of fun -- nothing fancy, just a cool map and a variety of enemies. The badges take a little bit of care and coordination, without being ridiculous.
The "Casino" section is an interesting idea, but the timer ruined it for me. For the talky bits, I felt like I didn't have time to really think about what the NPCs were saying and try to work out the proper responses...I just had to click randomly and hope I got lucky. So what should have been an interesting puzzle just became trial-and-error. -
Then there's K'Anpo from "Planet of the Spiders", who not only had his next regeneration picked out, he even had the new body hanging around on the sidelines waiting for him to take it over. I guess that regeneration energy can be harnessed in all sorts of ways if you're creative enough, and the Doctor just tends to take the path of least resistance.

It hasn't changed much, really. I have one character that I occasionally do Incarnate stuff with. Otherwise, I pretty much play the way I always have: Roll a new alt, play them to 50, then retire them and start a new one.
-
I solo most of the time, and it "works" fine. Yeah, those "Go talk to so-and-so" type missions are kind of annoying, but they don't take long. Being able to do what you want, when you want, how you want outweighs whatever minor drawbacks there are.

A speedster coyote cowgirl? How about "Getalong Lil' Doggie"

I like being in control when I play. I want to be able to set the pace and pick the level of challenge I'm going to face. PvE lets me do that, PvP doesn't.
