    slotting health

You could also change out that heal (50) for the Miracle Heal (50), and get that set bonus as well (Whatever it is - I can't use MIDI at work).

Is it 'worth it'? That's up to you, really. Id say at least use either Numina or Miracle to get the additional bonus.

I feel bad leaving in the middle of a mission. If it gets really bad though, I'll reach down, and hit the off switch on my cable modem till I map serve and go do laundry or dishes or something.

[/ QUOTE ]If I'm on a crappy team, I'll try to wait until after the current mission, then say something like "Okay, gonna go do other stuff now. Good luck!"

The only time I've truly bailed on a team was after 11 hours of trying to do the ITF.

    [/ QUOTE ]

11 hours?!?! I'd be getting screamed at after 4 to go do the dishes or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Go do the Dishes.
  3. My favorite Finish moves are either when a Damage proc goes off and finishes someone, or when Chain Induction jumps and takes someone out.

That, or when I taunt a runner and the Psi Damage Proc goes off and defeats them for me. ;-)
  4. You missed my Birthday. I had Cake.
  5. I can't stop playing Teen Machine, my new Elec/WP Brute.

He's a teenage Indie Rock musician shooting for stardom, when he signed a deal to appear in a New Reality show (financed by Crey Industries). He got more than he expected, but he's taking his shot to be a Star.

I play him with a regular team on Mondays, and I log on with him constantly during the week, turning off XP, just to play him more. Merits? Tickets? Accolades/Badges? GottaGettemAll. He's also my Marketeer, so he's starting to be able to afford the Good Stuff.

I have other costumes for him, but they are all just for playing around with - he always fights only in his one 'real costume.

I do, if there aren't already 10+ recipes available for sale. I let them sit there for weeks.

That's what I do. If there are none for sale, at least. If there are, I just dump them.

I want to say that I am happy with seeing a WP post in which the OP isn't complaining about the survivability of the set. It's like a breath of fresh air. Also, I want to say that your current plan is fairly solid, but I will tell you what I would do differently.

Tough and Weave could use 1-2 more slots. RttC can lose the to hit debuff. I'd drop Hover and look for a way to add Chain Induction. I'd skip Mu Lightening, and go with Electric Fences + Ball Lightening. For the most part I think you are on the right track. Good luck!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Excellent suggestions ..

Tough and weave can take the slots from Boxing

Skipping Hover gives you the power slot to take Chain Induction, but you'll need slots for it, so would have to take it a bit earlier.. Hard to see where you would shave them from to slot it. You could sacrifice a few from Electifying Fences. Does it do all that much damage, or enough to really matter? And does slotting once for ENd Mod really do anything for you? I would think that 1 ACC and 1 Immob wqould be fine for it, since it's main purpose is just to keep things in one spot. Two could come from the To-Hit Debuff in Rise to the Challenge..

I run my Elec/WP Brute with no End reduction in toggles or attacks right now. Once you get the handle on your End usage, you could consider it. However, I do have some Inventions slotted that help out with that (Perf Shifter: Chance for +END in Quick Recov and Stamina).
  13. I't take the slots out of Boxing, and put them in Tough and Weave. In a build like that, it's just there to add to Fury, so the basic slot for Accuracy is fine.
  14. I do like Freezing touch, but had to take something out, and decided to sacrifice that. That's a discussion for another thread, though.

As long as it's *NOT* unlocked by having a billion influence on hand, I'd be for it.
  16. I love the look and feel of Electric, and I don't notice any problem on the Damage end.

I play an Elec/WP right now, and having a great time with him.

And personally - Lightning Rod is one of the Coolest, Flashiest powers I've seen.
  17. Sorry. That was me, testing some new powers.

Sometimes I have a mix of the above, for those late, LONG nights.

wait I'm confused, isn't there a thread over on the scrapper forums with people justifying the potential for brutes to do more damage than scrappers using the arguement that brutes aren't meant to tank?

edit: If surviving the alpha makes you a tank then any well played scrapper is a tank as well and we get fewer tools than brutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't kid yourself. Lots of Scrappers are Tools.

Wait. That's not what you meant?

    Sorry.

  21. The best thing about it, in my Opinion, is that there is no real 'best' option. You can slot things to your preferences and still remain competitive.

Only in very poorly designed games is there one 'set' way you need to build or slot a charcter/power.
  22. Elec/ Has a few good eearly AOE's. Have you gone to the Guides section, and read any of the Elec/* guides there?

There are a few good ones.

Better yet, establish a fee system whereby you convert influence to prestige in exchange for a fee paid by a supergroup's members. Now you are not only removing influence from circulation and providing a public service, but beginning to take a slice of other people's bankrolls as well.

Essentially you'd be converting inf to prestige at a better rate than City Hall. I'm willing to bet you could do a ridiculous amount of business this way, actually.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is actually pretty good. All I would need to do to start this would be start a thread in the Base Builder's Forum.

    Yeah, that'll work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It looks like the best, most create solution so far.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
This is all really useful information, so thank you all.

I prefer to take down my opponents fast, since I do end up spending a decent amount of time solo (whether I want to solo or not). That's probably why the only Tanker I've ever latched onto was a Shield / Super Strength, since that's a powerful attack set with few drawbacks.

I think I will eventually roll a Dominator since they do follow my playstyle fairly well, and the impending buff sounds like it will only help that, so maybe I'll just wait for that. Until then, I think I'll go Stalker, since Brutes seem too general for me right now.

So, with my choice for a Stalker nailed down, what are some suggestions? From the sounds of it, Stalkers do better with defense sets like Ninjitsu or Super Reflexes rather than Resistance-based sets like Dark Armor and Electric Armor? Is that true? And what other tips/tricks should I be aware of (besides the usuals i.e. take Assassins moves and placate as early as possible, etc.)? And just so we're not going too broad, of Dark Armor, Elec Armor, and Energy Aura, which would any of you recommend?

Finally, if anyone would strongly object to going the stalker route, I am open to hearing reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you weren't so dead set on having matching sets, I'd say play a Energy Melee/Regen Stalker. They hit REALLY hard, and solo very well, but still contribute on teams.

Energy Aura defense is not all that popular, and from what I can tell is one of the weaker armor sets - and it's just below Electric Melee.

Since you seem to be stuck on those particular ones, I'd say go with Dark/Dark Stalker. It ties together like you prefer, and Dark/Dark is a solid combo, with heals, mitigation, etc.

unsure of the OPs intent here other than destroying inf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Art, my friends, art.

It's very easy [for me anyway] to make billions more than I spend on my characters. The challenge, then, is to find a way to spend my money that entertains me and does [by my standards] some good.

I was involved in trying to crash the demand for Luck charms. I was the guy who tried to stabilize midrange common salvage for over a year. I'm looking for a new project. Destroying ten billion inf might hold my interest.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Easy. Buy any of the things I have up for sale, and then I lose all the money failing at Flipping Recipes. :-)
