Advice for my new brute.
/Stone is a very tough secondary using SO's, so it just gets better with IO's. My first goal with mine was to cap my S/L resist which doesn't require anything but SO's to do. I live in Granite myself all the time and there for skipped the other armors. I haven't spent a lot on IO's for him,but what I have is to help run speed and recovery.
The best thing I have found about /stone is that it doesn't require anything to be the toughest thing out there and any IO's you go with make it that much better. It's really hard to go wrong with it. There are several older guides out there and they still have good info in them. Look in the tanker guides also, they apply to brutes just as much.
The best thing about it, in my Opinion, is that there is no real 'best' option. You can slot things to your preferences and still remain competitive.
Only in very poorly designed games is there one 'set' way you need to build or slot a charcter/power.

It always bothered me when stone brutes didn't take granite. Unless you're going for a theme, if you're not going for granite there are other secondaries that are probably better for a goal of soft capping.
If you want to be durable for SF's, take granite. 2 granite brutes with a healer works very well against AV's.

Personally never did it but at one point was comparing a non-granite rock build to other sets on Mids.. it's not strongest, but still very strong. But for tanking. you will want granite (note that tanking and bruting aren't allways considered the same by most.)
One nice thing about living granite: Brimstone,Crystal armor and minerals can be dropped allowing more room for tough and weave.. some prefer the kb and stronger dam of kick, but with granite -rech, I go boxing. Hasten pretty important.. how important depends on how many +rech sets and proc you can get hold of. Going for uber tank vs of brute means you may care liitle about your attacks rech but you will want your Earth Embrace to come back.

Kioshi, how far along are you with this build? Also, any ballpark on what you've spent so far?
About halfway (I miss the LOTGs). Must've spent 500 mil or so, I'm betting another 500 mil onthe 5 LOTGs and some other IOs.
I guess I'd better start saving. Thanks for the example build, Koshi. I was running through mid's earlier, but I couldn't get my s/l resists beyond 83.6%.
Thanks to anyone who reads this and/or replies. I just managed to get my new elec/stone brute to 43 and I'm trying to create a durable build for him. Now, I've spent the last two days scoping out the forums, searching for various opinions and builds for stone brutes, but what I have found has left me confused. I find a lot of folks who run without granite, or strictly granite, some who attempt to offset the dmg, recharge, and movement drawbacks, and some people who attempt to soft cap their defenses.
I have no idea which is the overall best direction to go in, but I do know where I want to go. I made a stone brute because I want to tank RSF, LGTF, and any other SFs worth running. I'm looking for my stone brute to be as durable as possible and I want to live in Granite armor. Any advice you can offer me would be much appreciated.
