Update:
Definitely a bug. Did the arc again today with a different group and, this time, the vortex thing was glowing and making the clue noise. It was clickable and allowed us to proceed with the mission. -
Quote:Caleb works fine. I got the badge for him and Scrapyard the same day that Surging failed to award.Btw, Ghost of the Scrapyard badge is awarded to vigilantes. Couldn't test if the Caleb badge was working for vigilantes since we couldn't find him after we got his spawn message.
We know. As I said, my group DID spawn him. Twice. The badge is broken beyond any shadow of a doubt. -
We were doing Maria's new Praetorian arc and had a problem with "Meet Up With Statesman" mission. This is the one with Black Swan. There are two objectives - defeat Black Swan and find info about Statesman.
We found and defeated Black Swan, but could not complete the mission. We found some sort of swirling vortex thingie. The mouse pointer changed to a hand near it, but clicking it did nothing.
Did we miss something? I haven't bugged it yet. We were done for the night anyway, so we're going to back and try it again and see if anything different happens. -
Definitely bugged. I was with a group that took him out and got no badge. We had 7 Vigilantes and 1 Villain. The Villain already had the badge so no idea if it was awarding for Villains.
Someone on the team said, "Let's try again. Not hard to spawn him." So we did. Saw the message, found him in under a minute and, once again, no badges for anyone on the team.
This was last night. I petitioned after it failed to award the second time. Last night, I got an email that it was being escalated. Today, while at work, I got an email that I had been awarded the badge. I logged in and there it was.

Knuckleheads.
They emailed me mine yesterday. Except they didn't notice I ordered two copies and they only sent me one code. I emailed them back for the second one and am waiting. -
Quote:Question: Why the hurry to go Villain? Ironblade is already Vigilante and plans to be either Vigilante or Rogue for most of his time away from Hero. Unless I missed something, you only really need to be Villain for about 7 days for badge purposes.By saturday I shouldn't have my tank on villainside yet so put MISHMASTER down.
(Admittedly, I haven't planned my 'trip' in full detail yet. I only went Vigilante yesterday.) -
Ironblade has gone Vigilante and racked up... close to 50 badges, I think. I didn't really get in much playing time yet. I took a vacation day Friday (tomorrow) to get some serious badging done.
I have not yet made a new toon in Praetoria. However, I have been camping a name for 2 months for an electric controller. -
No regarding the windows. Aside from that, it's beautiful.
-
I pulled any big stuff. I left maybe 30 million of goods/bids/sales on one toon and everything was fine after GR. Surprisingly smooth conversion.
-
Quote:No. Grow up. You were told in advance what each option offered. If you chose poorly and/or regret your decision, it's all on you. If they warned you ahead of time (which they did, and I don't see you claiming otherwise), you were in a position to make an informed decision. You CHOSE to get access to two powersets early INSTEAD of getting other benefits.So...people give them money in advance...and the items are not included.
The complete GR has the 30 days, that more than makes up for the price, especially for new accounts.
But not including the items in the digital preorder is low. They collected interest on money, and the whole package was not delivered. Even if they warned ahead of time, it's wrong. -
The code is separate from the code in the box. GameStop's site said it would be emailed. I had to email them to remind them. They do not seem to be handling the 'extra' items very well.
-
Interesting. I had a small bug in that same mission. The destroyable object had the wrong name. It looked like a tech crate but was named something like "Altar of Caernoz".
-
What did you have previously? Tell us the CPU and graphics card and we'll see what people can come up with in that price range that will give you a better computer.
-
Quote:Yeah, they were pretty incompetent about the extras. I pre-ordered online from GameStop. It shipped on Monday and I got it yesterday. According to their web site, there was supposed to be an email sent with the code for the special enhancements. There was not. I emailed GameStop and, to their credit, they emailed the code to me the same day. BUT, only one. So I had to email again yesterday asking them to check my order and see that I ordered TWO copies so I need two of the codes. Waiting for a response....Eventually the lady returned with the box and no mousepad or whatever it was supposed to be, they got NONE of them.
Rings me up, and I look for my code on the little print out receipt.. no code for the "goodies". She calls another store, they can't help her, she calls some sort of support phone number and gets put on hold. -
Overclocking isn't inherently bad, but....
Okay, if it's running hot then you do NOT have 'adequate' cooling. -
Quote:And so your decision was to use a WORKAROUND on a routine basis. It really is though. They're the ones who didn't add a "skip" for verifying files.
I see. And I'm not getting these crashes. Tell us again it's the fault of the software and not your computer.Quote:I've verified my files DOZENS of times. Yet, the crashes still occurred. It's only because it doesn't fix any thing that I decided to stop wasting my time with it. -
So I have heard. The original arc is under the original name, "A Hero's Hero". The new arc should show as "A Hero's Epic".

Free Character Transfers for a limited time only!
To take advantage of this new issue launch, character transfers within one set of servers (North American OR European) will be free from Tuesday, August 17 to Monday, August 23. This is the perfect opportunity for you to hop between servers depending on your mood or interests and meet other heroes and villains to enjoy brand new game features with! -
Yep. That option was actually added a while ago (Issue 17, I think). It's been broken since Day One. After tomorrow, I'll check to see if it (or the high market fee warning) has been fixed.

Given that:
1) I will never install a more powerful video card in the system, and
2) I will never install more than one video card
the motherboard should be okay with those limitations.
Regarding the power supply, I have used Antec in my last two builds and plan to stick with them. I'll use an online wattage calculator then get significantly higher capacity to allow for deterioration of the components, particularly since I run my system 24/7 at 100% CPU utilization. -
Quote:Are you that clueless, or just trolling? Do you really think NCSoft is trying to bring back slavery?I created a character that looks like me and has my real name... Is that covered in the EULA?
Uh oh, have I been owned by NCsoft for the past six years??
Your LIKENESS, as it exists IN THE GAME, is their property. -
yeah..... I had a computer die suddenly. I was able to verify that the power supply and video card were okay, so I figured it was the motherboard. I replaced it (fortunately with a model that a nice diagnostic readout) and found it was actually the CPU that was dead. How often do you see that happen?
-
TL;DR version: Which card should I get?
Long version: I like to have the cost/horsepower of various components in proportion. Putting a 5970 video card in a system with a Core i3 CPU would be silly. In my last build, I had an E6600 Core2Duo ($315) and a 7950GT ($265). I'm a bit more into the gaming now than I was then, so I figure my video card should be upgraded a bit in proportion to the rest of the system.
So far, I have decided on:
Core i7 860 ($290)
Gigabyte mobo with USB3 and 6GB SATA
8MB of G.SKILL RAM
So, I figure I should be looking at a 5850 video card.
(Two builds ago, I had an ATI card due to compatibility concerns with a video capture card. My last build had an NVidia card since that seemed the best price/performance at the time. ATI seems the way to go at the current moment. I have no loyalty to either chipset.) Once I settle on the video card, I'll pick a power supply.
So, two questions:
1) Does anyone see a flaw in my thought process that brings me to the 5850?
2) Since my knowledge of ATI cards is years out of date, what manufacturer would people suggest? My 7950 is from EVGA - I'm willing to pay a premium for quality. -
Quote:Actually, AT and powersets would be more useful information. All my toons high enough to do this arc already have the accolade so I'll be bringing whatever is useful based on the team composition.Sign me up. I'm thinking I'm either going with Cynergyspyke or Mind Decay
Whoa.... you've been gone a while, haven't you?
